EXTERIOR
This exhilarating flagship VW Golf R32 is finished in desirable Deep Blue Pearl Effect, (Colour Code LB5R). A beautiful deep gloss shine and polished finish reflect the cars cossetted existence with just one owner and garaged storage from new. Close inspection reveals little more than light frontal stone chips and two chips to the original front screen. Supplying dealer branded number plates front and rear are fitted and the factory darkened rear light lenses, trim and all R32 logos are in fabulous condition. Wheel arch apertures, door and boot shuts are very clean, the latter having factory stickers still intact.
INTERIOR
Factory optional and very expensive Black full leather upholstery with R32 embossment, (Code YZ), are beautifully clean with firm bolsters retaining correct shape. Unique R32 carpet mats remain fitted and are pristine and the entry R32 stainless sill cover has some small marks. All equipment, controls and displays are in fine operation, including the ice-cold climate control and heated front seats. The brushed aluminium is unmarked along with the headlining and trim to the inner pillars. The boot area is pristine with the factory code sticker, factory compressor and tyre sealant still sealed in cellophane! In addition, a VW emergency kit is present and further stickers from the supplying dealer remain untouched.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Special features of this first incarnation Golf R32 are the V6 3.2litre engine, 20mm lowered sports suspension and 6-speed 4-Motion transmission with sophisticated all-wheel drive system. In addition, an array of electronic driver aids help to best exploit the awesome power of 240bhp and 320Nm of torque at just 2800rpm! A top speed of 153mph is quoted along with 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds. The engine bay is stunning and exactly as Volkswagen intended with all factory stickers and plates intact. A genuine Milltek exhaust system is fitted and has an intoxicating bark! The slick 6-speed manual short-throw gearbox is perfectly matched to this powerful, sure footed driving machine.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique 18-inch Aristo alloy wheels are immaculate and correct specification Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/40 ZR18 tyres with ample tread are fitted to all four corners. A fully overhauled braking system features large bright blue callipers which are clearly visible through the spokes and hint towards the impressive stopping power. Traction and safety with advanced features such as ABS, EBD, ESP and ventilated discs front and rear are in perfect working order.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 16th September 2003 by Main Dealer Listers VW of Stratford upon Avon, the car was registered to Mr Day who is the cars only owner from new. An amazing history file consists of full Volkswagen Main Dealer service history from the supplying dealer network and the file of paperwork begins with the original vehicle order form and sales invoice confirming the price new of £24,436.52. The huge folder of paperwork includes all point-of-sale documentation along with all main dealer servicing invoices to correspond with the 11 Volkswagen stamped entries across both the original and subsequent service books. Every single MOT certificate dating back to the first in 2006 is neatly filed. The most recent major service was carried out by supplying dealer, Listers VW of Stratford upon Avon, in July 2023 at 51,656 miles with supporting invoice. The Haldex oil service was carried out at Volkswagen in June 2022 at 51,570 miles. All handbooks, manuals and brochures and are included neatly filed in a blue A4 folder and the special leather R32 document wallet and both keys and dealer fobs are present
HPI Clear.
I love the Volkswagen instrument dials and displays of this era, with restful blue back-lighting and red needles. My parents owned a 1st September 2001-registered (SF51UFZ) GTi 1.8T (150bhp) in Reflex Silver which was a lovely car. It featured so many neat touches such as chrome boot hooks, fluid-damped handles and gloveboxes, and pieces of shiny dark walnut on the gearknob and bits of the dash and door cards. I would personally love a pristine example like that one again.

@@Ex-Pear-Rocker the Mk5 R32 looked Vanilla, a Beige Buffet in comparison to the Mk4. It had DSG, so what?! It had faux chrome accents on the front bumper. Classy.

It cost almost £25K over 20 years ago, one can only assume at how much one would have to pay to purchase this amazing car now & whoever can comfortably do so I hope they will enjoy it as well as looking after it & keep maintaining full VW main dealer service history.
