I mean yea it’s nice and all but what do you expect when all you have to do is hunt and sign autographs. And hunt 1000 acre farms in the Midwest. Let’s take this for what it is, it’s entertainment. Very nice deer and does take skill to shoot a bow. But I believe it’s important to remember that 99.9% of us have real jobs, families, commitments that have to be taken care of first before hunting. Don’t compare your hunts to these. This is entertainment. Get out there and shoot what gets your heart up. Everyone have a great season! God bless
M D that is awesome, a huge congratulations to you! It was definitely an opening day to remember for many. Thank you for taking the time to watch and we hope you have a great rest of the season!

This is not hunting this is farming deer just without a corral . This reminds me of the biblical days and when things were corrupted and anyone who thinks it is is fooling them self .
What???? Are you people with negative comments ok? Why the hate? The drurys have rose to the top through hard work and perseverance! Period........ people like yall need to get a life. Stop hating! It will consume you and you will never know happiness! Thats biblical knowledge!
Love how Mark let Wade have his full moment before revealing his kill. Btw, DOD needs to invest in some better lights for the in field interview, haha.
Telerado, first off thank you for taking the time to watch the episode and we hope you enjoyed it! He didn't hit the opposite shoulder and the broad head was lodged in the offside of the cavity as you can see at the 19: 10 minute marker. Mark is shooting 54 lbs with a 400grain arrow for reference. Again, thank you for watching and best of luck to you this season!
@@DruryOutdoors Hey, thanks for the reply. I coincidentally pulling 54# myself. I’m shooting 460 grains with a cut on contact Magnus Stinger. Awesome opener for you guys.
Telerado, it's our pleasure! We're here to help and you're not kidding about that. It's been an awesome season overall for the team and it's just getting started! Thanks again for the support and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series as it unfolds!
Frank Gulla, we really appreciate the kind words sir and are glad to hear you enjoyed the video! We're using Rage broad heads and as you can see, they work fantastic. Have a great rest of your weekend and best of luck to you this season.
They would excell in the big woods as well. Mainly because they stay positive about what ever their goal is, and life it self. Unlike you Sir! Take your negativety somewhere else.
Seems like they are pretty eager to shoot a couple of medium size bucks on opening day? These guys used to be focused hardcore on monsters. Not sure what changed.
@@nickmorris1910 my point is those rage broadheads perform poorly when it comes to penetration. Nobody has ever lost a deer from too much penetration but they have with too little. I prefer as much penetration as possible when shooting into animals. I'm not a follow the popular brand guy. I follow performance.......
Rock'n V Ranch, that's super awesome brother and we couldn't be happier for you. Also, we appreciate the support more than you know and hope you enjoy the Deer Season 21 series.
Sheldon Walters, first off thank you for taking the time to watch and we hope you enjoyed the video. When referencing "2 3" he's talking about the cutting diameter being 2.3". Have a great rest of your Sunday and best of luck to you this season.
To bad the other 90% of us deer hunters have no comparison with ANY of the style of hunting that just took place. Private land, huge box stand, drive right up to the thing and on and on. THP on the other hand is exactly how 90% of us hunt. What's next ya buy a buck and chain it to a tree which so happens to be below your tree stand.
DevilDog Yauck, first off thank you for taking the time to watch the episode and for leaving a comment. We really do appreciate that and know your time is valuable. Regarding your comment, both of these properties are private land correct. For reference, the piece that Mark shot his buck on is 60 acres and the piece that Wade shot his buck on was 41 acres. Also worth noting is that Mark cut his teeth on public land back in the 90's, right in the very same area THP does now. Iowa has some wonderful public land access and all of us as hunters greatly appreciate the resource. The improvements to both properties are attainable by just about anyone, with equipment or without. At the end of the day, everything you see on this channel is 100% Wild and 100% Fair Chase and it's been like that since the very beginning. We support all types of hunting whether it's public or private land, gun or bow, tree stand/saddle or box blind. As long as it's legal and all involved are happy building the memories with their friends and family, that's what matters at the end of the day. Best of luck to you the next time you hit the woods and we hope it's your best season to date!
@Druryoutdoors love y’all’s content and awesome way to start out the season! What kind of broadheads do you guys like to shoot I’ve been debating on shooting fixed broadheads like magnus or either rage trypan mechanical? Thanks and good luck with the rest of y’all’s season!
As I silently closed the door to the truck and whispered as low as I could, I then flew my enormously loud drone over head to get a glimpse of myself and the cameraman walking to my blind. Makes sense.
Hey Dustin Warner, first off let me start by saying thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch the video. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did putting it together! Regarding your comment, drones can be noisy yes but the Mavic Pro 2 is reasonably quiet and with it's ability to film in 4k, (which allows us the opportunity on the post production side to zoom in farther) we're able to pull something like this off without disturbance. Essentially to clarify it can film from further away while maintaining a quality image. Have a great rest of your weekend and best of luck to you this season!
Eric Lindblom, first off thank you for taking the time to watch the episode! If you're referring to the washout shown in the first part of the video, that's a huge part of why we decided to plant the grasses on that 41 acres. Not only does it create the bedding we discussed but it also will hold the soil in those highly erodible areas to prevent future erosion. We hope you enjoyed the video and best of luck to you this season!
I have always wanted to wear what you guys had on…but you done switched on me again. I’m just trying to be a loyal fan here but you guys ain’t making it any easier. lol
I've been watching your videos since you started with DVD's and had property next to Hadley Creek in Pike County. I would love to see more hunting out of treestands in the woods. You guys seemed to transition to blinds which hasn't kept my interest as much. Great video quality, however.
HJ89, we appreciate you taking the time to watch the episode and hope you enjoyed it. Best of luck to you this season, we hope it's a great one for you.
Work on that erosion, going to loose a section of your field if you don’t change the way you plant those fields. Sad to see with today’s knowledge. Good luck guys
Collegeguy14, we couldn’t agree with you more! Besides adding covers, those grasses were planted to hold the top soil changing the previous practices of planting to row crop. If you go back and watch, those edges make a pretty cool transformation. Thanks for watching and we hope you have a great season ahead!
You’re saying you fixed the wash out? I didn’t realize there were before and after shots of the same place, what I saw would require planting up to the top of the ridge to help stabilize or fill in with extra soil and plant everything around it/ above it preventing it again. There was just one bad spot I viewed. Im a forestry and land manager myself. Not trying to lecture or give you a hard time. Im sure we are on the same page. Looking forward to more
Haven’t watched y’all for a while. Are all of you hunts now out of elevated box blinds over food plots? I know that is an easy and comfortable way to go but it sure makes your content one dimensional.
made should have waited!!! like damn there was no Black on his hind lands.. no staining from his tarsal. he would have been a great dna buck!!! young!! you guys focus on big mature bucks.. he had the frame.. just imagine being 5-7!

Just goes to prove you don't need thousands of acres to shoot big deer.
Brian Eisenga, we really appreciate you saying that! It was an opening day to remember for sure and it's one we will be talking about for a long time. One farm was 41 acres and the other 60, put in the hard work and the rewards will surely follow! Again, thank you for taking the time to watch and best of luck the next time you're in the woods.
lol and I was pumped to get on the board opening night to, LOL, only difference was I got a doe. I'm still looking forward to that first big buck for myself. I've only been able to shoot smaller bucks, mainly cause I live in Michigan. I can't wait to get a big one like that. Good job and congrats!
What a dream come true to camera man for y’all😳💪🏻💪🏻
Corey Hallman, it was certainly an evening we will all be thankful for forever. You always dream about opening day but to have it unfold like that, there’s not words. Best of luck to you this season!
@@DruryOutdoors thank y’all yes I get to hunt Missouri this year for the rifle season I’m pretty jacked up!!!! My first mid west hunt!!!
Great video congrats guys awesome deer
Mojo Baja, we're glad to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to watch and best of luck to you this season.
I Love the shot placement graphics! That is an amazing idea you had. Thank you for the great content.
232323Logan, we're glad to hear you like them! Those graphics are a part of our mobile and desktop app called Deer Cast! What you're seeing is a feature inside of the app called Deer Cast Track. Utilizing this, you can place the cursor where your arrow hit and a list of videos and explanations will appear giving you advice on how to handle the shot. Below you can find an article that breaks down what Deer Cast Track is thanks to our good friends at Mossy Oak. We hope to see you over on the app soon! Thanks for watching and best of luck to you this season.

We're beyond excited to see what the future holds for the rest of the fall. Best of luck to you when you hit the woods next and again, thanks for watching. We greatly appreciate the support!

The pleasure is ours, thank you!
Awesome video
DEFUND THE MEDIA GOD BLESS THE USA, we greatly appreciate the kind words and appreciate you taking the time to watch! Have a great rest of your weekend.
Aim to exit??I have used that technique for years. And it has worked to a T.That is the way to start a season.Congratulations to all of you.Props to your camera people too. They are the ones that get the shots. But not much credit.
D Swish it's a great thing to keep in mind at the moment of truth no doubt! We really couldn't have asked for anything better and are extremely fortunate. Thank you for taking the time to watch and we hope you enjoy the rest of Deer Season 21!
God bless
Congrats! I myself tagged a 6year old 10 in velvet opening evening also in Mid-MO! Love that rising 🌙 !
M D that is awesome, a huge congratulations to you! It was definitely an opening day to remember for many. Thank you for taking the time to watch and we hope you have a great rest of the season!
Awesome filming josh!
I got a 126 inch 8 pointer last weekend in Iowa
Tippy that's awesome man congratulations! The Iowa youth season has been a good one from the sounds of it. Best of luck to you the rest of this season and thanks for watching, we hope you enjoyed. Have a great rest of the weekend!
Congratulations to Mark n Wade on beautiful bucks. What those toads score?
Joseph Stollsteimer, we greatly appreciate the kind words sir! Not to mention the 3+ years of being subscribed, that is awesome. Mark's buck went 153" and Wade's went 144" It was an evening none of us will ever forget and to say we're fortunate for the incredible start is an understatement. Best of luck to you this season Joseph, we hope it's a great one!
@@DruryOutdoors would love to come out n shed hunt with the crew? Only dream of such amazing bucks would love to pick up some of their gear?
love the vids!
Caden Stotts, we're super glad to hear that man! We're incredibly fortunate for the amazing start to the season we've had so far as a team. Lot's of action coming your way and best of luck when you hit the woods!
Let's goooo
Shayden Maynor, we hope you enjoy the episode! Lots of awesome hunts coming your way from this past week. Have a great weekend!
This is not hunting this is farming deer just without a corral . This reminds me of the biblical days and when things were corrupted and anyone who thinks it is is fooling them self .
They know what they did ,even if they play pretend, deep down they know.
What broadhead are you using with that first deer? Asking so I can avoid it because that should have buried in the ground on the opposite side.
Ah, answered my question right at the end, rage broadhead and that is why I stopped shooting them. Beautiful deer both great shots.
Tom Ray, thank you for taking the time to watch and we hope you enjoyed it! Best of luck to you this season, hopefully it's your best to date.
@@DruryOutdoors I harvested a 22 point buck in 2009 I think I peaked already. Thank you for the friendly wishes.
Did Mark hit the opposite shoulder? Looked like an exit hole but no pass through up close?
Great job guys, congratulations! What broad heads are you shooting? Thanks for an awesome video.
Frank Gulla, we really appreciate the kind words sir and are glad to hear you enjoyed the video! We're using Rage broad heads and as you can see, they work fantastic. Have a great rest of your weekend and best of luck to you this season.
I would love to take these big money guys with me in the Big Woods and see how they do. My guess there Videos would not get many Views!
They would excell in the big woods as well. Mainly because they stay positive about what ever their goal is, and life it self. Unlike you Sir! Take your negativety somewhere else.
quick questions. how many hours after the shot you guys recovered the animals? and do you hunt this bucks for the head and horns or meat??
Seems like they are pretty eager to shoot a couple of medium size bucks on opening day? These guys used to be focused hardcore on monsters. Not sure what changed.
Medium sized bucks?
Repeats "Smoked'em!" numerous times... Deer runs off with 2" of arrow in him, lol. The deer may have died but that was 100% arrow failure.
You are not smart are you! Probably didn't do so well in math class. Your measurements are way off! You probably do that alot.....im sure.
@@nickmorris1910 lol, nice.
If they were shooting Iron Will broadheads both of those arrows would've blown clean through and into the ground 6".......
So..........does that mean the deer would die.....deader.....!!!! I don't see your point. Oh..... I see.....negative Nancy. Got it
@@nickmorris1910 my point is those rage broadheads perform poorly when it comes to penetration. Nobody has ever lost a deer from too much penetration but they have with too little. I prefer as much penetration as possible when shooting into animals. I'm not a follow the popular brand guy. I follow performance.......
Jeremy just taught logic to Nick. 👊
I killed my biggest buck last year hoping to get lucky again this yr
Rock'n V Ranch, that's super awesome brother and we couldn't be happier for you. Also, we appreciate the support more than you know and hope you enjoy the Deer Season 21 series.
When Mark said he was using a rage 2 3 was he referring to a rage 2 inch cut 3 blade or did I miss understand that?
Sheldon Walters, first off thank you for taking the time to watch and we hope you enjoyed the video. When referencing "2 3" he's talking about the cutting diameter being 2.3". Have a great rest of your Sunday and best of luck to you this season.
@@DruryOutdoors thank you for the response!!!!
Man........haters be hatin
@@DruryOutdoors this is the greatest reply in the history of YT. 😂😂👑
@@DruryOutdoors Fair enough. Lol. Good luck to y’all as well! 👍
Better do something about that wash.
@@DruryOutdoors that will work! I really hate to see wash outs like that. It's such a waste of top soil.
Why do you guys have to change companies you work with so often? Scent blocker-Under armor- nomad- scentlok?
I have always wanted to wear what you guys had on…but you done switched on me again. I’m just trying to be a loyal fan here but you guys ain’t making it any easier. lol
Money talks
Since when have you guys shot Mathews ?? What happened to PSE
How do y’all keep deer out of the food plots until your ready for them to hit it
Sometimes we will hot wire around the plots to keep them out!
Does Nick Morris work for Drury outdoors? He’s responded to every critical comment on here.
Is the same Wade as the camera man you had for several years?
Robert Duguay, it's the very same Wade! Thanks for taking the time to watch, we appreciate the time and support.
I've been watching your videos since you started with DVD's and had property next to Hadley Creek in Pike County. I would love to see more hunting out of treestands in the woods. You guys seemed to transition to blinds which hasn't kept my interest as much. Great video quality, however.
Man I been sharpening my chains wrong this whole time 😬
HJ89, we appreciate you taking the time to watch the episode and hope you enjoyed it. Best of luck to you this season, we hope it's a great one for you.
Learn how to build adult arrows!
Learn how to be an adult!
Anyone 2024?
Can I hunt with you guys lol
Looking forward to more
The type of bucks I’ll wait my whole life for and never see you guys double up on on opening day what are the odds
im hunting irl rn
Best of luck, we hope your hunt goes great and a tags filled by the end of the evening! Thanks for watching.
You don't know much about deer hunting do you? What is the saying..............oh yeah. " better to be thought an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" .......
