The Chills Martin Phillipps & Oli Wilson join us at Roundhead Studios for our Riffing Series to discuss those iconic Chills tunes and their new album Scatterbrain, out now.
It was a treat to hear Martin's insights behind their iconic tunes, including 'I Love My Leather Jacket' and 'Pink Frost', while Oli Wilson (PhD in Musicology) joins Martin to shed some light behind Martin's pop masterwork 'Heavenly Pop Hit'.

Still regard Pink Frost as one of the great songs that has been written. RIP Martin from an Aussie fan.
Entertaining and a very big part of my own personel musical taste that I',m proud to say looking back to my younger days was why Kiwi music grew and grew as a favourite for me.. Cheers Martin and all who were part of the Chills.

Amazing the gems you discover on YT. This is a very interesting insight into his music. He's a musical genius. Loved the film and was absolutely delighted when Martin appeared from behind the stage at the conclusion of the film.
Just discovered Scatterbrain after hearing of Martins passing. 4th playthrough today already. OMG its a classic. RIP Legend.

Honestly, this guy and his mates. Far far away the best band Out of NZ.
The harmonic analysis of Heavenly Pop Hit was interesting, but intuitive songwriting rules I reckon - I'm sure it wasn't so contrived, just pure imagination
