    How did this album come out so long ago when it still feels so new to my ears? Never gets old.

    Bassist and drummer make this band tighter than a tick...great lyricist too.

    Jason McGerr is a criminally underrated drummer. He never goes for the obvious - yet his drum parts always enhance the song - not distract from it. Much respect

      75% of the time I watch videos of deathcab I wish he would choose violence and add some distraction

    • @placebojesus5652
      @placebojesus5652 Рік тому

      I do respect his ability to not choose violence on the drums but after watching myself on video I’ve realized I’m always choosing violence on drums lol I guess it’s an ADHD related tendency I have that has difficulty tolerating boredom and excessive periodicity, which to me is a small amount lol but I think it helps me be fairly creative on drums, though ultimately a drummer needs to be kind of the reliable trusty backbone of the song and most importantly not steal too much attention from the guitarist/singer lol which is why I’ve switched to guitar and singing (mostly backup though increasingly more lead) from drums. Drums were a good starting instrument though, I think mastering rhythm is the best way to set a foundation for getting into any other instrument because as anyone knows who’s played live, it’s impossible to play well in a band with someone who has a poor sense of rhythm. In fact having rhythmic synchronicity is probably the most important aspect of being able to vibe with someone in a band.

    Anybody else listen to a song flat out then leave it for a while and come back to eat it, and just like Sunday dinner it’s better when you’ve left it for a bit

    He did the real and complex version with true band mates. Topped it off by telling DL he has been to the mt. Regardless of everything, still writing rad and quality lines and sounds. It takes a lot to produce and deliver. I know the cats got money to deliver badass style. But he's humble and does his own delivery of keeping it his. On point with the vid thanks for putting up the classic vid

      In my opinion, they have a dark or macabre undertone to their music. Some folks don't take kindly to melancholy or cry in your beer music. Me, I'm like a fly on shit gravitating to my feels. Interpretation is everything. Songs that make some people happy, make me cry.
