Meta-tip: If you play a lot in Franchise mode, try building a complicated building in a Sandbox zoo and then blueprinting it. Then bring your own blueprint into your other zoo later--save time and hassle and distractions! I have one sandbox zoo that is nothing but a construction zone, and having all those other builds in one place is mighty handy.
Wow! I've been literally playing since the game came out in November 2019 and it's the first time I understand why sometimes the axis was right and why sometimes it was completely off!! Thank you Rudi, as always
yeah this kinda ruins the game a little for me bc I *love* animals(they are basically my only interest) and I want to build realistic zoos but I really struggle because I'm not creative
@@seagullman5634 You don't have to be creative to make a realistic zoo. Look at a couple zoo maps and get ahold of a few pictures you like and start building! From there it's not matter of creativity but skill with the Fronteir building engine. It's really hard but really worth it
Creativity is something that needs to be practised. We’re all born with the same ability to be creative, you can teach yourself to draw if you wanted. Some people have a natural affinity for things but don’t ever assume you aren’t creative because you measure yourself against people who find it a little easier. Exercise that left brain!
This is fantastic. Since I began playing PZ, I switched careers into architectural design. It's AMAZING how many of the tools and skills translate, especially into rendering software like Lumion. These tips are great for PZ, but are also great project management & workflow tips for CAD. Fluency with model groups & the Gizmo go a long way. Thanks as always, keep it up!
More like this please! I'm a (very) casual player and it always frustrates me that I spend hours creating a tiny part. Any tips for the pre-building process, building efficency and large scale buildings would be soooooo appreciated 👍
Einer der besten PZ Spieler, unglaubliches Talent, Fantasie und sauber in der Umsetzung. Schaue die Vids sehr gerne, obwohl ich weit von dem entfernt bin, was er da baut. Weiter so Rudi.
IMO, if you want habitats that look nice, try to avoid using the default barriers as much as possible. The only default barrier that I think can work is the chainlink sometimes, the rest look really ugly if not used sparingly.
this was the first step i took into the planet zoo building journey. I'm a super creative person and was humbled by master builders after i had tried the game. through frustration over all my habitats looking like the same ones i made in zoo tycoon when i was 9, i started to use other things the game provided for barriers and it moved on from there, slowly. boy, was i extremely tired of using rocks, till i discovered you can change the color XD. probably should have done the career...
Love your videos, but your how-to videos are the best ones. I thought I wouldn't see anymore of these videos from any PZ creators, so thanks! I always improve after watching these.
There are 2 other very important things to pay attention to. The one thing is to build roofs only with realistic support structures (not as it can sometimes be seen in planet zoo tour videos, where buildings have extremely large roofs without any support beams or other structure that would (in reality) prevent the roof from collapsing). The other thing is to try to build more realistic in general. Easy things are for example to build roofs a bit overhanging or to think about, which materials can be used for which type of structure (like for example using plaster or concrete walls for larger buildings instead of log walls...)
Oh nice! At the moment I'm only using easy parts and blueprints because I'm just learning the game and don't want the hassle with creating whole buildings! But I will definetly use these tricks in the future ^^
I've only had this game since April and it's so much fun but I'm always overwhelmed when it comes to building! These tips are so helpful and I can't wait to start creating with them :)
Would be nice too See more than 10 Expert Tipps from you, from other Experts too Rudi, , but, thx for that. 10 better than no one for beginners in that game or Planet players who want to try something New. ✔👍😘
Thank you so much for this video on building tips. I have always had trouble with roofing. Can you do a roofing tutorial, particularly the different pitched rooves? If you or anyone else has already done one of these please link me to that UA-cam, thank you.
Do you have tips on how to build a good looking but functional zoo on an older pc. Like how to use a minimum in pieces effectively or which ones to avoid
I know this is late, but I recommend Nvidia GeForce NOW remote processing. Nvidia's server handles all (or most) processing needs so that your older and/or minimum-spec device can keep up. First zoo I built, on a 2017 Dell Inspiron laptop, started to get real unstable around 30 habitats and 3000 guests. I started using GeForce, now that zoo is at 91 habitats, 800+ animals, 8500+ guests and expanding and mostly happy performance-wise.
The blueprint is amazing. I can’t even compare work to those who made it on workshop. But yeah, I keep learning new things from time to time. Very inspiring.
It might be me... but your Steam downloads do not have your pink axis and height pieces. While making them is easy enough, it would be even easier for those who appreciate all your advice to go and grab them from a download - great video - just a thought.
I'm kinda interested in the details of the zoo design. It makes me want to keep playing the game, but the game framerate gets worse after it finishes. despite the that it is set to low setting
I know this is late, but... we were all beginners at building in this game at some point, including Rudi. PZ really rewards the slow, get-good style grind; stick with it and eventually you'll be producing things that make you go back to them over and over and think, "I am genuinely proud of how good that looks".
Are the moss base game? I cant seem to find them even though I filter through all of the DLCs. When I search for decal I can only see 5 decals from a DLC I dont have
@@RudiRennkamel Weird, I bought the DLC, and I get some items from the pack. But still cant find the moss. I can only see 6 items that are from the Wetlands Animal Pack (That I dont have.) when I search for 'decal' under construction->All Items with no filters. And nothing when I search for moss. God this is annoying hahahah

That's a very nice tip!

Thank you for this tip! I wasnt sure if I could do this. Thanks for confirming ❤
Next level pro tip lets me build out complex structures and save them for later thank you

Tip number zero; Be born with a creative mind or be prepared to spend thousands of hours learning how to be creative.
You are not wrong here

Vielen Dank für die Tipps ...
Omg to use the decals on the path is an amazing idea. Can't wait to try it in my zoo.
That casual burn on Apple near the end😂
The axis thing🤯 I have been so annoyed when building!

17:32 Bro just went menace mode on Apple.
Which DLCs are essential in your opinion? I already have the arctic pack and I'm planning on picking up a few more.
Frankly the Europe one. I am so still blown away by all the pieces. And all the animals are very well done too!
After that I´d say the Aquatic pack.
@@RudiRennkamel All right I'll be sure to pick those up, thanks for the suggestions!
