Something different Henry, your videos have become my miniature painting ASMR :D you have the perfect, calm radio host voice, and they are just so enjoyable to watch (+ I *always* learn something new). Great stuff as always!
rewatched this video maybe 6 times now? An absolute treasure trove. I'm especially studying it again to adapt these schemes down to epic scale now that the legions imperialis mechanicum is here. The tiny automata are absolutely gorgeous btw - would love to see you have a go!
F**k me - that Thanatar Cavas Siege-automata is massive! Just when I was about to start saving for the newly announced Legions Imperialis Mechanicum set.....
Wonderful work as always. Gw should be paying you more than free box’s for this content. Better than theirs for miles, and just as easy to understand with better products and visuals. Would love to see more of these with other heresy factions. Bravo!
As ever! Unreal! Was undecided on the colour scheme for my mech, but that quick and easy Xana looks great! Will contrast very well with my regular iron warriors force
Where did You see that?!? 😮 I am not into 40k, but as I watched the video I thought, I would love this freaky Mechanicum stuff for Legions Imperialis 😬
Thank you for taking the time to create such a detailed and explicit tutorial. It’s very helpful when you explain how and why you choose your colors and brands of paint.
This was a great video. It’s the first one I’ve watched since I finished my 3k of Raven Guard 2 weeks ago, which I painted for 12 months and watched these videos every week - end of an era! Your Black Templars series really taught me lots about black and approaching projects - thanks! As it happens I painted those as a break from my massive Mech army. Really torn about starting a new Mech army in plastic or trying to spruce up my old Mech as there’s so much I’d do differently after four years. My Mech are a metallic scheme so having all those metallics can look very cluttered. Hard to give up what I’ve invested so far with 5k fully painted that I’m attached to, but know I could do better now.
Thanks for the great videos... Just comment about the decals..if you didn't clear coat over the decal just use tape to pull it up without harming the underlying paint work. I've also found that a folded paper towel soaked with hot tap water pressed against the decal is enough to wrap them around even thr roughest texture without the need of decal solution... your mileage may vary..
Really helpful with plenty of cross compatible ideas to help painting some Adeptus Titanicus. Really looking forward to my own painting session tomorrow now 🎨
Hey mr Cult of paint, I couldn’t find the part in the sanguinary guard video when you mixed different gold paints with contrast, can you help me point it out for me?
hey mate, little detail you call out at the start about your painting journal, can't emphasise how important that's been for me to get better at the hobby, get quicker and make it much more enjoyable. little hack that makes a huge difference, even to this old salt who got his first white dwarf in 1994
@@cultofpaint ah interesting. May just have been the light then. Btw. You've probably heard this, but I can't remember you talking about it, so I'm left to assume not, but apparently the GW paints take really well to Tamiya's X20A thinner, giving them the spraying properties of Tamiya Paints. That's what I've heard from multiple sources, including Angel Giraldez. If you haven't, it may be worth testing.
@@BlackHoleEye thanks, I'm aware of it. Sadly it's not all, some colours turn into porridge. For me using "normal" acrylic thinner for my water based paints and then Tamiya thinner when I use tamiyas works best for me.
@@cultofpaint ah, so it's not universal? You'd think all Citadel "classic" paints would react the same way. There must be some really manky additives in some of them then, to have that reaction.
To echo everyone else, it's a great video, but I am surprised that you didn't take a drill/ bend any of the panels out of shape on the Thanatar if only to show minor wear and tear as it were. Was it a question of time, or more presentation? Another thing that stood to me was how you did the lenses on the models, very old-fashioned, nothing wrong with it, just surprised you guys haven't kept up with the scale model community in that regard.
Uhm why would you drill and bend the Thanatar and why is it a surprise they didn’t? Also what method are the scale community doing with their lenses that we need to keep up with?
Thank you for the Mechanicum video. This is my first faction for Horus heresy. I guess I am 1 of the 17 people who love Mechanicum.
Make that the two of us!
All 17 mechanicus players absolutely loved this video
And how is your My Little Pony army coming along?
Haha, I was shocked how many requests we got for this!
9 of them wanted a techmarine paint scheme
Well we're 17 because all of our stuff's been out of stock for months😢
Lmao
That 2.5l bottle of Sansodor made me laugh xD Thank you for the guide, Henry!
I didn't realise such a thing existed!
I don’t play any 30-40k but i love having these as references to painting my AoS armor/metallics. Absolutely stellar as always!
Fantastic! I for one welcome our new robotic Martian overlords!
I'd be keen to see a quick update on the solar auxilia.

Behemoth of a video! Great stuff as I have both a regular scale army in box as the just previewed legions imperialis mech sets upcoming.

Glad you mentioned that Malinax video, it's one of my faves

Phenomenal job as always henry
Gorgeous work and excellent tips. Thanks, as always!
Amazing!
I think my favorite bit is how the bronze came out. Looked great without the verdigris as well (even though I love me some verdigris).
Seeing as I don't think you'll ever paint a battlesuit, i will settle for stealing some of these methods :D great video!
i promise when the next Tau release drops i'll do a battlesuit.
Ace video!
Great video, thanks

Did you change up your primer? The finish on the primed, jnpaibted models look a bit different from earlier videos.
i flit between chaos black and colourforge matte black. It's whichever is nearer to hand. Also I'll often touch up with black paint too.

So when's the cult of paint artis opus paintbrush seat going to be available? the box design is really nice
I'm curious about this set as well. Is it a new set yet to be released or an older set no longer available?

Henry can you do something with necrons? Maybe a new paint scheme
If they get something cool with their next release then sure.
Hi Henry!
How do you glue the painted parts 🤔
Super glue or plastic glue. Clean the contact points with a knife.
Once again great video but alas...Still waiting for a "how to paint all of the Dwarven Mountain Holds" video lol
Update on them before end of year!
