my gym in new jersey , bodega jiu jitsu trains the ecological approach as well. I hope to this become the new style of teaching in the future, its only my third month of training , but the instincts I have currently show that its almost like ive been training for years when reality ive not. When i travel to other gyms and train at my university and go against people who are purple belts or even brown belts they are surprised that im able to wrestle them or pass them in ways they haven't seen before and even submit them a good amount of them. I really do hope this becomes the new style of training as it totally blows technique drilling out of the water which just gives you moves that you end up forgetting.
I follow them on Instagram and would love to visit some time. I can't claim to be any expert at the ecological approach. I teach in many ways enjoy letting people discover and work with progressive resistance and constraints. So I think it's really about having the right teaching tool for the right time and task. I definitely had a bit of prescriptive instructions towards the end.
