@@michael4158 Don't be too critical until you try it. When you're in the "hot seat" there is a lot more pressure than you might realize, and this can lead to some seemingly "silly" mistakes. 😁

I was at the next match with SolidWorks too. So... It's extremally hard to count the best way of build order and remember all functions under pressure. If you want to present SolidWorks, so we are waiting you next time. It's easy to pass qualification and make free registration. Just try it next time!

Did the SW guy memorize the design before starting??
No - they take a screen capture of the 2D print and move it to their second monitor. and then model from that.
One of the runners said that he actually watches the stream on a tablet, and when the 2D print shows up he pauses the stream on the tablet, and then models the part on his computer. So the tablet is kinda like a sheet of paper.
So clutch!!
I gave up on solidworks, its just to finicky unless you learn it really well and put in many hours, it becomes a frustrating million clicks process, i think it is not very intuitive. F360 is the way to go, Sketchup draws simple drawings the fastest especially if you know only about 5 keyboard shortcuts.
I like onshape!
What plugin is Nate using to get the mass?
No plugin is required to get the mass in Fusion. Right lick the "Body" and select "Properties" to see the mass
@@stevenpeterson5804 I do know that, I also know this part of the speed modeling process is THE BIG FAT bottleneck in Fusion (assign material and then property to get mass). In this company where even 2 to 3 seconds is time you simply don’t have otherwise you have lost the game. This is why I’m interested in this plugin
@@jtl789456123 I see what you mean, Nate opened a window that had the mass in a few materials, I also dont know that addon or if its a custom script
