    In this video, I go over how and when is the best time to transfer seedlings to a bigger pot or graft them. I've been growing more dragon fruit seedlings to create new hybrids that I enjoy and looking forward to getting fruits a year or two from now. This video explains everything I look for and do when it comes time to transfer the new babies.

    I think your recommended rootstock is Sugar Dragon or Red Laverne?
    And here is the obligatory 'when can we get cuttings'?
    Because of your channel I have my first 10 cuttings (three varieties) in their rooting pots.
    Would love to add Asunta6 to my empty pots!

    Used your seedling technique and I have 8 sproutlings already out fo 30 seeds (everyday I see more and more sprouted). Hopefully they will survive my climate. My room temp is 22-30C throughout the year and close to 40C in the Summer on my balcony, but I still don't know where I will put them in the 0C winters

    Apple orchards have been doing this for a long time and another UA-camr Steven Edholm on skill cult is doing this to expedite his apple project. It's really what got me in the deep end of cactus and apples

    Where do you get your seeds? I’m in the OC. Do you ever sell cuttings? I bought a couple from Laguna Hills Nursery a few years back, but someone actually took them out of our front yard garden.

    Richard! Big fan. For those of us outside the perfect growing conditions for pretty much everything (SoCal), I would be interested to know/see if you could successfully grow them in a greenhouse setting or maybe why they wouldn't fruit unless in ideal natural climate?

    Can you start grafting before the rootstock plant is rooted?

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  10 місяців тому

      I wouldn’t as it won’t have the strength and strong enough system to support the growth for graft

    I started growing dragonfruits from seeds quite recently. One of the seeds germinated and was 3 weeks old, it just had the 2 cotyledon leaves with a tiny stub still emerging. However, I snapped the seedling accidentally. Now the part with the leaves is barely clinging to the root. Can I something be done to it or would it heal itself? If not, should I start over again, from the seeds.

    Pretty cool, never saw DF seedlings I think. Jealous of you having so many fruits ;) I've had a miserable year with maybe 2 per plant on average. I blame all this rain and cold june

    Quick question, and I'm sorry that it's not relevant to the video. When will new branches come off my dragon fruit, and what is with some dragon fruit branches being in a straight line, but there is a skinny part as if it was branching out?

    Hey Richard!
    I have a Selenicerius grandiflorus (It's a similar cactus to Dragon Fruit). I bought it from a botanical garden already planted. I know it won't give me fruits but It has the biggest flowers in the cacti family.
    I wanted to ask you when my cacti will flower its already a year I have it and its not flowering.

      I don’t have an idea as I don’t have any experience with those. May take 2-3 years depending on how well it grows and its nutrients
