Since the last version of Lightroom Classic CC (2018) its possible to use profiles that include LUTs. These profiles can be created via Adobe Camera Raw. I think this will start a new era of how we use and work with color in images.
As you mentioned. This so frees the workflow because profiles can be used regardless of the application you work. Ether still images (Lightroom, Capture One) or motion images (Premiere, Final Cut,...)

Usually profiles are used for RAW banch processing in Lightroom or Capture One.
