I just realized that Rata used the same joke in the vehicroid video for Steam Gyroid and the Cyber Dragon video for End Dragon. Considering who uses these decks this feels appropriate
CyDra players must have had there heart skip a beat when they saw a Rata upload on their favorite deck, and I don't think it had anything to do with any shock collars this time.

Here's some funny Trivia about this card. Originally, you could NEVER activate this card.
The card states "Tribute 2 "Cyber Dragons". Special Summon "Cyber Laser Dragon" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard."
The issue was that there was no such thing as a "Cyber Dragons" monster in the game. Eventually Konami just said it worked cause they probably didn't wanna reprint this thing this card. Here's the fixed card text version
"Tribute 2 "Cyber Dragon". Special Summon 1 "Cyber Laser Dragon" from your hand, Deck, or GY."
Hyena had a similar problem.
So the "it makes sense" point worked for some weirdo mecha-reptile, but we've still got cards out here missing timing because they were printed with one word instead of another?

Considering that 'when' is an actual keyword, I would say missing timing is an intended mechanic.

Well the card that banish it better just banish it and not use it as a cost or have extra effects. So it work with little knight but it absolutely won't work with overload fusion
@@Mernom sorry but the "when" not "if" on cyber oroboros has to have been an oversight. Its so obv designed to be used for overload fusion, its even used like that in the anime too

Releasing a Cyber Dragon video on Jaden's birthday (in Japan but also Montenegro) is CRAZY but HELL YEAH
That makes it better anyway, it's good to have a cyber dragon video but actually Jaden and Zane's rivalry were one of the best things from GX. And Zane was the strongest rival too, even over Aster.

Back during the 5D's era, I once played a game against a guy running Ojamas. Colors, King, Country, the whole nine yards, and he thrashed me. No life points, no field, no hand from my fairly jank pack filler machine deck. One turn left. Top deck overload fusion. Overdragon goes live with 9 materials. 5 very vulnerable targets right in front of me. I burned that village to the ground in one draw and it was easily one of the greatest moments of my dueling career! Good times...

Nowadays it would be better to just summon Exodia Incarnate fusion.
i remember his post game deck in spirit caller where he just used future fusion to dump all the machine monsters in his deck to the gy for over dragon and then used overload fusion. They gave him the gadgets too so he had more targets.

There is a surprising lack of throwing your deck at your opponent to reduce the damage to zero
45:40 another note about Seiger. Its effect says that neither player takes DAMAGE from battles involving it, but it doesn’t prevent Seiger from attacking that turn. So you can use the effect to pump up a Rampage Dragon, then beat over something smaller then 2100 with Seiger to make way for the OTK.

God I adore Cyber Dragon build variety so much, whether it goes first or second it has good options without being absurdly unfair either way. This might be your best archetype archive yet in terms of editing and writing quality, and it's about one of my fave archetypes and on my birthday. Hell yeah, thanks Rata.
Cyber dragon was a precursor to "Let's put two cool things together and hope they make a new cool thing", something we still see in the game to this day.

I love how cyber dragon went from an easy tribute summon fodder to the monster that keeps earth machine players up at night
as an ancient gear enjoyer, this is true.
This is why I run Demise of the Land and Zombie World in my side deck in Edison format. I have a full board of monsters, they drop Cyber Dragon and I flip over Demise of the Land to activate Zombie World. Zombie World turns everything into the undead so no board wipe for you.

Cyber Dragons being the true form of one of the oldest Archetype Archives, linked to Malefics via End Dragon. Which is both one of the most playable Malefics, and the poster child for Yugioh(and Cyberdark) in many ways.
Plus, of course, Shape's return. Technically saving Rata cause you can't just destroy your own house to get rid of Malefic.
And...the Konami Consultation bit. In reference to how Rata has consistently meme'd support and mechanics into existence (on purpose or not). My favorite being a Field Spell Fusion Monster, which is one of his more outlandish jokes that still came to pass.
If this is Rata's triumphant return to consistent uploads, boy oh boy what a way to kick it off. Literally a more ambitious crossover than Endgame, all in an opening bit.
