This set is going to down in history for a Top 10 Ult set for sure. Sparg0 and Leo are really trying to overthrow Tweek vs Leo as my favorite player matchup in Ult lmao
i swear we say this at least once or twice per tournament.
@@kkim5000 Yeah lmao. Tweek vs Leo WF Riptide, Sparg0 vs Light GF SSC, Kola vs Gluto CEO GF, Leo vs Sparg0 GF Mainstage, and the list goes on
Easily my favorite set between them. Even more hype than Mainstage
I felt like Leo just made so many mistakes he shouldn’t have and sparg0 took Advantage of it. This should’ve been a 3-0 for Leo ggs sparg0at
Light vs spargo is my personal favorite but this is a very close second
This solidifies that Sparg0's victory over Mkleo wasn't a fluke, and that he could repeat it again.
and it was a reverse 3-0 that’s even more scary holy shit
Nice to see you here Vars
Didn't know you were a smash fan. Nice!
Eyyy!! Good to see you here Vars! Always love your smash analogies in your videos
@@ankydarkness if you go down you can see him vs yonni
19:29 never thought I'd see the day MKLeo would be part of a Premature Celebration compilation but damn
how tf did he DI out of that
Doesnt back air kill incredibly early near the blastzone? Im also surprised spargo lived that
Arnt those comps only for if it cost them the game? Celebration did not really matter here and was so settle that I don't think it counts.
@@KelpyG. That is that plot armor people usually attribute to leo himself. Somehow spargo has stolen it. I have seen Mkleo live stuff like that so many times and clutch games.
@@extonjonas6820 The compilations count for any time someone loses after popping off early
This is the highest level of Ultimate you can watch right now. These two, with their favorite characters, are actually pushing the game further than anyone at the moment.
Spargo just beat the worlds best in a major and now this and he he respectfully gets up and shakes hands first before even showing how excited he is, what's legend.
Might be a cultural thing, MKLeo and even zero have the same reactions and humbleness
Good to see gracious winners in any case
I hate Sparg0
@@pancache4668 wtf
Always insane sets between these two. It’s amazing to see the crown slowly being passed down before our very eyes. Not that Leo has been officially dethroned yet but spargo finally has a major win and if he gets this supermajor win it will set up a very interesting conversation indeed
He did indeed get this major win
From Winning Summit in a fantastic set against Light to not only winning against Leo but reverse 3-0ing him
@@Step43099 it’s gonna be interesting to see how sparg0 fairs with a bigger target on his now.
Im gonna say Leo is about done as number 1. I’d LOVE to be wrong
On him*
Genuinely one of the most impressive sets I've ever watched
DUDE, THIS SET WAS INSANE
The first time ive seen mkleo getting reversed 3-0’d. Now thats history
He also got reverse 3-0’d by Gluto at Summit
@@craftymasterproductions4218 And Samsora at Genesis 7 and Tweek at Frostbite 2019.
I never seen Leo look this frustrated after losing a set,
spargoat
This should be a wake up call to him.
He should be frustrated he should not have lost. He had so many missed edge guards opportunities and unforced errors. Lots of missed grab opportunities too. Spargo is too good to not play at 100% against
Frustrated in himself yes.
Right?? Lmao they both look tired asf too haha .. I had a feeling Leo would drop this one :/
I was literally sweating and on the edge of my seat this set! These two goats have nerves of steel to be moving like that given the stakes!
I'm so glad for Sparg0, he's so talented and this is just the beginning. I'm looking forward to what he'll do next.
That said, I still have faith in Leo and his Byleth, I know he will come back stronger, I'll always root for him no matter what.
Spargo during the lockdown : "I'll be top 10 when we begin offline tourneys again"
Me : "That's kinda bold, especially for someone who only plays Cloud..."
*Lockdown ends, Spargo becomes Top 2, well on his way to top 1*
Me : "...well, serves me right o_O... Lets go Spargo?"
And he doesn’t only play cloud.
@@kava3957 back then he did. Only later during the pandemic he began experimenting and winning with Aegis and even Steve.
These players are fantastic and always so clutch. Sparg0 on his road to greatness with hardly anybody left to stop him. To the production: I don't know why you put Rundas' Theme at the end, but I appreciated it.
I love byleth vs cloud because it isn’t brainless 80% auto combos. It’s mostly neutral based and winning said neutral nets you a good strong hit or a 2-3 hit combo.
This type of play allows us viewers to try and understand every little bit of the flow of the fame and what are players are thinking. This is peak smash bros gameplay no matter which smash bros you talk about.
One of the greatest sets of all time
Watching sparg0 play this matchup i feel i learn so much about cloud from his playstyle. Mkleo is not washed he still did good here.
I felt like I didn’t breathe at all while watching this whole set. Good job on the commentators too for laying on the hype the whole way through, good stuff all around.
the final match was SO CLUTCH
that teaing red flash screen, many kill potential parries, insane di, spargo dodging down tilt upair, thorough spacing.... that was insane, and that was only the winners finals

This is the best game I’ve seen in ultimate so far this year. I love when the game is played like this
Byleth feels like a winning matchup against Cloud. It's insane the kind of advantage Byleth has when guarding, using Nair, or out-poking Cloud.
レオにリバース3-0するの恐ろしいなスパーゴ
I believe spargo picking up byleth helped him in better understanding how to play against Leo’s byleth. He has made so many adaptations, you can tell he is well aware of all of byleth options.
This has more views than Grands. Both were amazing sets, this feels like peak ultimate and I hope it keeps getting better.

Man. I thought Leo was going to slay his demons, but they pulled him down into the abyss. What a great set though.
the hurtbox shifting at 1:15 was so good, if u slow it down you can see that cloud's back air barely grazed byleth's face but missed because of the down tilt
Bro that game 3 has to be the longest last stock of hitting each other off stage over and over ever.
18:45
Bruh Byleth up air at 127% doesn’t kill?! Clearly the top 2 players in Ultimate. Always a pleasure to watch these 2.
DI to the right. It's the same for ZSS boost kick, just DI away.
If he had rage it would've killed.
La calma de Sparg0 para remontar 3 juegos seguidos es algo que no se ve siempre. Mis respetos para Sparg0.
20:11 Do you think Sparg0 intentionally overtimed the fair, with zero hitbox, so he could hit the ground sooner and position himself for the bair? Like a fake out or was it just a lucky mistake?
Most likely a mistake, but it's pretty small window for Leo to decide it he missed the fair or not, so he could have been baited to jump thinking he was safe. However I've played cloud a good bit and it's pretty hard to time forward airs with limit, since you fall faster but you still have to delay inputting the forward air or else you don't hit the ground fast enough to make the move safe. At such high percents, I'm sure spargo wanted to use a safe fair, but since he hit the fair low, their was so little lag with it especially with limit, he opted to use bair to cover the jump.
Watching it in slow motion again, it definitely looks like it was an intentional set forsure. Sparg0 is the best Cloud player in the world, and possibly the best in the world now, or at least still second best, but regardless I think he knew exactly what he was doing lol.
@@retrovcr777 nah he was under pressure
Pretty sure it was the autocancel window, so yes, intentional
How crazy Leo went for the preemptive pop off, that could’ve thrown him off his whole groove. Good on spargo, I know Leo was willing to pass the crown to him eventually. I hope the rivalry continues nonetheless!
Looked like Leo was going to win with the amount of pressure he was putting on Spargo but Spargo did his best to stay calm and collected with great ledge guarding fundamentals. What a insane Set,MkLeo might have to start playing a faster Character like Joker
Great set! Always great seeing these two play
The fact that he win with Cloud and not pythra put a smile on my face
Cloud > Pythra

Cloud can really punish Byleth out of shield. That must feel like a nice tool to have.
Byleth vs Cloud is such a fun and nice matchup to watch!!
Wow !!! Just... Wow !
I'll never get tired of watching these 2 play against each other
Solid win for spargo I'm so happy for him, I feel like Leo is tired and he needs a long break anyways great game for both of them!!!
This was an AMAZING match to watch. What a treat.

This set had me on the edge of my seat good job to both players for an amazing fight, in the end that’s what really matters
Well played from Sparg0.
We all know the Spargo documentary is coming in 5 - 10 years or so. I'm sure this set will make it in that video when it comes. Mark my words.
I think a large part of why Sparg0 is doing so much better against Leo is the fact that he started playing Byleth in online tourneys for fun, getting a much better understanding of the game. Love to see the major improvement, but Leo isn't one to stick to a losing strategy, however, he said he no longer likes playing Joker and Sparg0 has an even record against Leo's Aegis. Leo may end up picking up a new character soon if Sparg0 continues to beat his Byleth
Nah, Leo himself said he doesn't need to switch, and the matches he had were very close.
Everybody (including Leo) knew/said that this was coming, but it's still super hype to watch it happen. Welcome to the age of Spargo ladies and gents.
These two really pushing their characters to their limit. So, so good on both ends
sparg0さんのクラウドは日本のプレイヤーと異なり空後を主軸に立ち回るのが見ていて楽しいです
I love that he’s pushing himself with cloud, his pythra made me play her but I stayed for his cloud. Great work Sparg0
Actually one of the most insane MUST WATCH SETS of ULTIMATE!!!
The fact that MKLeo did not 3-0 spargo and still Lost just because he put the Ftilt on 11:57 into the wrong direction is just insane.
How did he even mess up that bad and press it in the opposite direction
He could have been reading a roll as well
@@tristaninman1638 it still would’ve wiffed because spargo had just landed
@@mcrsmash8319 yeah I know. I was just saying that could have been a roll read expecting Spargo to roll towards center as soon as he landed. Obviously it still wasn’t timed correctly even if that was the case. Or it could have been a miss input like you said. Either way small things like that make the difference at this level of play so good on Spargo for winning.
Leo did good first two games and most of 3rd game. Cloud has the advantage while on stage due to mobility and especially if he is juggling a character like Byleth. Cloud Limit can also force checkmate scenarios when they pop up at the worse moments when opponent is almost dead.
Unfortunately outside of like 2 stocks the entire set he couldn’t capitalize Byleth’s off stage pressure which Cloud struggles hard on. Should have thrown more down airs because a ton of times Spargo got back for free
Ahh yes the time had finally come for Leo to be sat down and a new champion rises good stuff spargo
A'ight but can we recognize the "daylights saving" game 5 Leo joke? I was crying laughing when i heard it stg
THAT LAST STOCK WAS FUCKING INSANE, if I was playing, I got mixed time after time after time
Wonder how pgr will turn out. If leo isn't first then that would be debatable since leo won SWT and like 3 other tournaments before they started to "count"
he was so ready to say "history was made by mkleo" when he meant spargo-
Spargo is getting more comfortable playing against Leo, this maybe the end of Leo's Era. But spargo still has a long way to go.
How does he have a long way to go when he just reverse 3-0 the best in the world? Lmao that doesn't make sense
Cause players adapt, and Leo, Light and tweek just to give and example, they have more experience, prodigy did the same to Leo but that didn't make him the best player and keeping that title just like Leo or Zero did in his former days is the real challenge. That's what I meant when I said he has a long way to go,
愛しのスパゴ様
Yall keep doing him like this, he gonna bust out the joker again.
Do not reawaken that sleeping giant
Sooo hype this set. Very happy at the outcome.
19:28 Never celebrate too early Leo. A painful lesson, but you were due for one
Sparg0’s DI had to have been perfect because on any top player (except heavy mains) that just barely kills every time. Mkleo celebrated because I’m sure he knows the exact percentage that up B b-air kills. Sparg0 just used his resources perfectly after DI’ing his life towards the stage
20:00, I feel like Leo could’ve read that roll but it is what it is.
People make wrong reads all the time. Imagine if Light always got his techchases
@@DairInNeutral that’s why I said it is what it is
that was truly amazing
Dude this tournament was 10mins away from me!!! WHAT!!
I’m an mkleo fan but I always knew Sparg0 would beat him someday. On the last set I was stuck rooting for both of them. They both played their ass off. Amazing. Well deserved
He only won twice out of the 30 sets.
@@DeeJayPancakes Spargo won where it matters though.
17:41 sonic when he got the bubble shield
Haha. I heard that too
And right after what he did in smash summit IV, He once again stole the win right from beneath MkLeo's grasp
Can we talk about how godlike that down tilt was to avoid the Cloud bair?!
Unfortunately it gets him hit just as much, if not more than it pays off. Not so much in this set, but at summit i was out of my seat screaming stop fishing for dtilt. Its actually what lost him the set, that backair->foward air hit because he was trying for dtilt.

“Both players skipping 113” is an awesome joke and I wish Max had gotten more credit for it
holy Leo was literally so close too. This is just all so close sooooo close. What a match
Great set!
Such a good match, I was sweating at the end lol
Yea, Spargo is the definitive best player in the world right now. He just beat Tweek and Leo in both these tournaments.
The bar has risen.
Nice of leo to give him the chance, good man. Coached by the goat.
I don't think Sparg0 is gonna be the only one. I think Leo's love for Byleth is ultimately going to be his downfall as players start truly optimizing their characters to full potential by the end of this year.
Byleths poor mobility allows his opponents to get away with so many errors. But nevertheless i love this trend of top players sticking with their characters despite their weaknesses. Its nice to see that the top 10 players arent just all maining pythra, pikachu and joker. Everyones using different characters and i commend it
Props to ultimate for having such a massive roster of viable characters.
11:57 Leo had the ftilt here, but it somehow ended up being turned around
OH MY GOD.
Leo may hate playing Joker now but Spargo hasn't seen Leo's Evo 2019 Joker
I remember feeling those times were crazy.
I just feel the meta is very anxious right now
I really hope he gets out of that petty "I _only_ play what I like to use" mentality. If you can't enjoy doing your job efficiently then you better look for a new one.
That wasn’t leo in those last 3 games that was Leonardo
Omg game 5 was nuts
now leo knows what it feels like to get reverse 3-0d
Amazing set. There was literally 10 times I found myself saying out loud “why isn’t Leo up smashing” then right at the end ash says it too. It felt like Leo was respecting him too much even when spargo was playing scared Leo didn’t pull the trigger on the punishes.
randomly upsmashing is literally the dumbest thing one can do. its just a free punishment for your opponent. both leo and spargo were mostly using noncommittal options, that cant be punished, waiting for their opponent to make a spacing error
@@Shadrag true but leo had easy kill confirm upsmashes and he didnt punish enough imo. his playstyle this set was so weird
@@Shadrag it wasn’t random up smashes this isn’t a Marss set. It was after spargo did random up B and wiffed because he was scared, Leo just had to walk two steps to his right and up Smash and he would won but he walked up and f tilted but missed. The others are when spargo picked Normal get up at ledge 6 times in a row at the exact same timing. If upsmash is spaced correctly covers 3/4 ledge options so if you have someones get up timing it’s guaranteed. Which if I could pick up spargos timing sitting here at home not the best player in the game certainly Leo saw it too. Also 5/6 times spargo crossed up his shield upsmash out of shield would have punished as spargo missed attack cancel timing. He had multiple opportunities to steal the game and the answer was upsmash in those multiple situations. But Leo seemed to be afraid to commit ie; he respected spargo too much. Upsmash is a commitment and Leo didn’t take the risk despite being at percentages where losing his stock was extremely unlikely.
@@Shadrag The 6 times in a row and the 5-6 times are non literal. I haven’t rewatched the set but you could and see exactly what I mean.
@@Shadrag randomly doing anything is dumb. Byleths nair is a great option but even doing that randomly will get you destroyed.
*properly* using these moves is a whole different story. Byleths upsmash is a great move. It has a decently large scoop hitbox, has a massive multihit overhead hitbox, active for 17 frames total, frame 13 out of shield, only 56 total frames, good damage, and great KO power (stronger than uncharged downsmash in fact, assuming proper DI on both).
Its byleths best, most reliable smash attack. Its great out of shield as its relatively fast for what it is, and has more reach than up B or nair. Its great for calling out aerial approaches. Its great at platform coverage. Its great out of jab locks.
So when the risk reward lines up, its certainly worth going for upsmash even if it isnt 100% guaranteed.
are those N95? cus you don’t want your switch to get a virus
Did these two develop some kind of beef? Im commenting during the third fight. Spargo attacked the angel platform and Leo foxtrotted back and forth mid fight. These players both usually don't insert too much personality mid game
THIS WAS SO INTENSE WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
This set confirms to me that currently Spargo is the best player in the world. Never thought there would be a player even more clutch than Leo
recency bias
@@free3793 Call it recency bias but Spargo has outplaced Leo 3 tourneys a row while also winning them. (Summit, G4 invitational, and Collision)
@@huangnguyen9529 Yes and this happened in the recent. If leo wins 2 tourneys in a row you are just gonna give it back to Leo. Im not saying Spargo cant be better but its way too soon to give someone else that title. To add I think Leo has been doing a little worse as of recent and I think the start of summit kinda proved that.
Yeah nah dude haha, when sparg0 wins 30+ tournaments he can claim the crown lol
@@free3793 I agree that Leo could always come back and start dominating again like he used to but this time I don't think it will happen. Leo has said Spargo was going to be the best player and Leo's streak of always making grand finals is gone. Spargo also has the consistency and clutch factor unlike Twerk to be the best. I could be wrong and Leo starts destroying everyone again though.
What’s that song that plays at the end of the video :0
Best winner final set of all time
Funny how Leo and mew2king have an entire video talking about how bad cloud is. I guess he’s eating those words now.
Leo may be world n1, but he only mains DLC characters which are clearly stronger than the average. Just look at the world rankings... very few people use non-paid characters, and Spargo is among them. Respect for him, he taught Leo a good lesson here.
Cloud is a better character than Byleth in basically every way.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 Recovery? lmao. Combos? Edgeguarding? oh cmon that's what matters at a high level of play and Byleth is better than Cloud at those.
