Hey Nic, I had Gaming Mako DDR5 Ram 6400. Then I bought XPG 6400 32x2 for my X670e CARBON WIFI. IT IS SUPER SLOW. Now I am going to try your restart system.

Some boards have a business tilt and don’t have OC capabilities. XMP and EXPO are technically overclocking. I think MSI boards that start with a ‘B’ are in this category and so they won’t have XMP or EXPO in their BIOS. I don’t think it’s possible to change this.

I have a MSI PRO B650-P Wifi with a 7600X. Every single bios version I've tried on it doesn't fix my specific issue, which is that even with context restore disabled, my system is unstable and blue screens. I messed with settings a lot and found a solution to my problem
1. disable expo
2. lower memory speed to 4000Mhz. Try lowering if still unstable
3. Enable memory context restore. Disable if still unstable
hopefully this helps anyone out, and I'm hoping MSI fixes this soon!
What RAM are you using?
Can you tell us the product code?
🙂

Looks like its on the QVL... www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650-P-WIFI/support#mem
G.SKILL F5-5600J3636C16GX2-FX5 DDR5 4800 5600 Samsung 1.2 SINGLE 16 √ | √ |
Suggests that 5600 is the supported speed too.
I don't have profile in my msi
Some boards have a business tilt and don’t have OC capabilities. XMP and EXPO are technically overclocking.
I think MSI boards that start with a ‘B’ are in this category and so they won’t have XMP or EXPO in their BIOS.
I don’t think it’s possible to change this.
@@sterntechdaddy i have x670e tomahawk
Erp... that should be able to handle it!
What RAM have you got and is it on the motherboard QVL list?
@@sterntechdaddy yes it is
Not sure then... I've only ever seen XMP missing when the board doesn't support OC because its a 'business' model.
Otherwise it's selectable in BIOS.
I’ve been rocking 4800 for almost a year now lol
Quick question, should I keep Power Down Mode on auto? I’m not sure what to do with it.
Edit: so leaving power down enabled on auto it blue screens.
Probable best not to leave it on auto... but you knew that... 😂
@@sterntechdaddy So should I disable it or just enable it? Sorry I don't really understand what the setting does.
I think it's a power saving setting - so try it with it set as disabled.
Check the BIOS version though - make sure you have the latest.
I wonder why even reboot your PC every day ?
My PC for the last 5y is just under Sleep when I dont need it. I click the mouse and continue - Windows is here - drivers are here...
Any reason to shut down your PC these days ?
There are a few reasons why shutting down and/or restarting occasionally is a good idea. I might do a quick video about it.
I am one who reboots every hour. I tested programs for work. I even install windows every 2-3 days. I hate 4min boot time
Not even for os updates🤨
Fast boot is bad for AMD gpus. I disable it.
i have the same motherboard but i dont see expo option in my bios 😢😢
Check the BIOS version… but pretty much every DDR5 board will have this option if XMP and EXPO can be enabled.
DDR 5 should not take this long in 2024 No training PERIOD should be necessary. Manufacturers blow BALLS for releasing this garbage.
It is necessary. Because of the high frequency, it has to make micro-adjustments to get it stable
thanks
Hope it helped. 🙂
@sterntechdaddy yes it's was very helpful
