- In 2016 Brian Hyland came to the UK to tour on one of the final Silver Sixties tours along with Peter Noone, Dave Berry and The Merseybeats.
Whilst preparing for the Edinburgh gig at the Usher Hall, Brian took time out to have a chat with Hugh Brown.
With thanks to the originators of the clips of "Sealed With A Kiss," "Ginny Come Lately" and "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini." Please check the full versions out on UA-cam.
Produced by Stuart Cameron for StuMedia TV & Film Productions.
"Itsy Bitsy...Bikini" was the first song I ever remember hearing on the radio. I'm still an oldies geek 60 years later, and I like to think this guy started it all for me. So wherever you are...thanks, Brian!
His voice is still young! That's incredible! Sounds like Brian 50 years ago!
Fabulous and what a gentleman. Thx
From office boy to renowned star!
Brian seems to be such a great guy!
And his voice still sounds like it did in 1962!
We need more like him!👍
Very down to earth man. Like his songs. He's not full of himself like some performers.
An absolutely wonderful interview; only wish it could have been a bit longer!!! Thanks so very much !!!🌹
I just couldn’t believe it was him then I heard his voice it hasn’t changed at all!
Wonderful memories, thank you Brian!
My first love bought me Jinny come lately such lovely memories of my happy young innocent days as teen still live it
Always a pleasure to hear Brian,,,never grow tired of his songs.
Saw that show, thought he was wonderful, voice still great....x
Always loved his voice and the songs he sang. We had so many great singers and a fantastic variety of music. They always bring fond memories back. Thanks for posting this. Much needed these days.
Reading Mark Lewisohn's great bio on the Beatles, fascinating how Hyland topped the charts when the Beatles were trying to break thru with "Love Me Do."
He can still do it. a great and very under rated singer
Ginny, a beautiful song. Thank you Brian
Amazing guy, love his songs!
My first crush at 13, love his music and I've followed him since the early '60's!!💕
So much enjoyed the interview Brian.
Amazing how you got your start and how grateful and humble you seem....congratulations Mate.

Melbourne, Australia,
Had the pleasure of working with Brian in an Oldies Show in the Detroit Area as I was one of the MC's from a local station. He along with all the acts were just so grateful to be "remembered" and able to share their music to both fans and those who were new to the best music ever recorded. I took some pictures with him backstage and he remembered events in our town from the past and was well versed on how rock n roll grew and his part in it.
The legend is here..the best
We were in grade 3 in 1958 or 1959 when the monster hit Itsy Bitsy came out and it just resonated with everyone. In those days we didn't even have a record player at home so the only time we could listen to the songs was when they were played on the radio, which was on almost all the time. Wonderful time to grow up for the next 25 years, at least. From Calgary Canada.
I love his song Ginny come lately. Puts a lot of modern music to shame. Lovely song.
His son helps out on the drums now an again, supporting his Pop.....
One of the finest ballad singers that ever lived.absolutelywith the best rendition of so long marrianne classic forever.
Great voice good hit songs
Thank you for taking time to express these things, which are part of our musical history. God bless you!
Still sounds great ...seems like a good man.
He's from my neighborhood of Woodhaven Queens
Худенький, а глаза такие же, как в молодости. Здоровья тебе. Брайан.
Wow he sounds so youthful. Bless
Brian, you 're magic! One of my first musical impressions, I love it. Jan
Awesome interview. Thank you Brian. You're just wonderful. LOVE YOU BRIAN.

I got the chance to have a few words with him during that tour. He's a nice guy.
Sealed with a kiss... My fav
Gypsy woman
Listen to him on u tube every night
I remember Sealed with a kiss one night in 65
Interesting conversation here, thank you. I have heard him tell that story before about the harmonies to "Sealed With a Kiss" and how Udell and Geld asked him to sing them as a separate melody. Thanks for posting this one.
As a 12 year old girl, I heard this song and fell in love. I watched Brian Hyland every time he was on TV and saw him in person at Lil' Darlin's in FL. He's still a fox after all these years.
THAT'S GREAT YOU TELLS ALL THE STORY AND THE SONGS ALL GREAT THE BEST, I LOVE IT TOO ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Todos hablan de los 70 y 80 como años insuperables musicalmente hablando ..para mi personalmente pienso qué geniales fueron los 60s!! Ese sonido beat tan potente y simple tan característico me produce nostalgia de una época que no viví
Love him!
I wonder who played that solo on the harmonica, really makes the sons even better.
Love mr bryan
