nice piece... I have on of these and couldn't figure out how to get the cutting blade set at the right depth. the lock nut spins the wrong way and had me fooled for a little while. I think I got it now! Oh, good idea bolting it down to the bench!
Can you not log the setting for each caliber, and speed up setup? What is your standard deviation on trim length? I cannot get consistency of trim length with mine. Disassembled the trim head, cleaned thoroughly, reassembled, and adjusted just as you did, but get 3 to 5 thousandths variation in length. All brass was cleaned and full length resized before trimming.
Very good review. I'm considering a prep center like this and am also looking at Hornady's version. It's about twice as much and I rather like the compactness and price of the Frankfort unit. Why would you recommend this over Hornady's other than price?
I haven't used the hornady so I cannot compare the two. I can tell you that the frankford has had zero issues and I would buy another one in a second .
Dan Steven I bought some once fired 5.56 with various headstamps. The length only varied .002 at the most and I think it was possibly die to the differing makes of brass. If I was doing a smaller quantity for bench rest shooting, I would probably use the Wilson. But for large batches of plinking ammo, this is great.
+MrCinpro Really nothing to do with the press. I just don't want to trim every time so the first time around I trim them a little short. Then the next few times around I just have to clean lube and spot check the case length.
+NodaSheep gotcha, makes sense to do that. I have a few in the discard bucket that may be saved then. I got a little happy with a manual trimmer and the collar slipped.
Thanks for the instructions, was having trouble setting it up. It made perfect sense watching you vid
Thanks for the video and nice footage on how it works. I just received mine and am looking forward to much faster brass prep.
nice video, finally got to use mine this past weekend, works great
Great video sir. More details on how to adjust it for the length desired. Thanks a bunch.
I'm sold. Helpful video. Thanks.

h wobs The Hornady looks nice but gets a lot of bad reviews. The FA is well made for the cost.
much appreciated. way cheaper that Girard but will save me a ton of time.
is that a full length sizer?
Can you add a list of your equipment and possibly some links? Thanks much.
how consistent is the trimmer? variance of the case lenghts? Does it hold its settings well or does it walk out/in?
with the lock ring tight it holds great. very consistent

Hello, any chance of getting this tool in 220 Volt? If so - where? I cannot get an answer. Thanks
+Nodasheep what do you mean by trimming the brass short for a progressive press?
+MrCinpro Really nothing to do with the press. I just don't want to trim every time so the first time around I trim them a little short. Then the next few times around I just have to clean lube and spot check the case length.

Cool vid! So is this the best way to deal with the military crimp?
It works the best for me.
for your next video please blow your nose before starting. it is annoying to hear you trying to suck up your snot constantly
Nice video on how to use the machine, next video though, blow your nose.
Too much work just to trim a case... hand operated trimmer is much faster
You are incorrect.
are you crazy?
