If they do make one, I hope it's not gonna be PS exclusive, or will at least come to PC at some point. I played LBP 1, 2 and 3 so much back in the day when I was a console player. It has a really special place in my heart, and I hope for a new one in the future. But I've moved on to PC and I'm not gonna spend several hundred dollars just to be able to play one game. I get that some functionality of the controller might just not be possible to port over to mouse and keyboard, but I'd be content with the game requiring a controller to play the game. A controller I could use for many PC games anyway.
@@Seby_sebasThe original creators Media Molecule literally left so I doubt they would be able to recreate it. If there was it would be Sumo Digital (Little Big Planet 3 developers) or someone else. Unless they got Media Molecule back
Endlessly slapping friends with a frying pan in my hand, dragging my cousin into an electric pit to lose the level, getting 3 friends to hop online with me to gather all the extra bubbles with crafting materials. Idk what it is but I feel everyone understands this game was an absolute gem we look back on so fondly. I truly wish they would work on a new game, would love to play this with my nephew
Im an autistic girl and this franchise has literally been in my life as long as I can remember. I must have been 5 or 6 when I played for the first time. I was raised on it and was playing actively untill the lbp2 servers shut down. I still play lbp3 occasionally but I dearly loved my PS3 and lbp2. It was probably my first real special interest and even after all these years I can name every level being played in the background footage. These games always encouraged me to push limits and find new ways to explore my creativity. Currently im making a doll which I designed myself. It's tough work but I will do it. Anything is possible if you have enough creativity. This franchise will forever have a very very special place in my heart 💗
@@bungiecrimes7247 Am i not able to share a positive experience with this game? Not everything has to personally interest you. Just scroll if you don’t care. It’s not that big of a deal.
Same here. I got both the first and second game at around the same age and used to play it with my brother all the time! I still play LittleBigPlanet 3 to this day and enjoy the game just as much as I did as a child. And everything about the game is just so magical: the limited set of tools to create with and how you can make stunning things from it; the community creations and levels other people have created and shared; the game's story mode; and more. The game was truly life-changing for me, and for others as well. I'm so glad I found so many others with a shared experience. And if you are willing to post the doll you are making, I would love to see it! That is all I really have to say. I hope you have a great day!
Little Big Planet was one of my earliest memories of having time together with my brother, the others being Borderlands and White Knight Chronicles. These games were our holy trinity because we could play them for hours without a single argument. They hold such a precious place in my heart.
Gosh I’m crying. This really was my childhood. I’m 25 now and I remember being a kid playing the online levels. I had no idea about the hacking and that really is the worst kind of closure. Thanks for this video. I really love it
Im 25 as well. What a great time to grow up! A lot of great games. The classic style God of War, Call of Duty was still cool, and of course LBP - this niche, awesome game that captivated all my friends when they'd come over. They called it "the puppet game" and surprisingly preferred it over CoD. Hahaha. Shows how universal the original game was. Not even the second game had that appeal, as fun as it was.
Twenty-seven years old here! I very much agree about the second game. The first LBP had a very special feel, from the music to the toybox feel you get from most encounters. I remember playing this game with a few of my friends and their younger siblings. It was so fun and I miss it!@@anthony-so8te
I will forever love this game and the community that created the best map designs. This game was so much fun to play with my little brother. Oh, how I miss the golden days of the PS3.. :')
Finally some who just GETS… these games just as much as I do. And the weird amount of things that we have in common just reminds me of the old things about these games back in the day. Like this being from my memory the first video game I ever played, all I did in creative mode in the first 2 games was throw down those floaty blocks and let them send me to the level ceiling, And agreeing that the lbp karting final boos track absolutely fucking slapped. I AM YOU lmao. This video was very well put together and your channel definitely deserves some more attention.
Just wow. What a fantastic tribute to one of the unsung titans of gaming. I played this game with my brother and cousins almost daily growing up, probably around the same age as you were, and it holds such a special place in my heart. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who remembers it so fondly even if no one I know talks about it anymore. What a special gaming studio with such intense love for creation and community. Media Molecule created so many precious memories and I'm glad to see them get their flowers.
bro you describing these games basically put me through the stages of grief (hit me real hard when you mentioned the Tsunami survival level). Also wanted to thank you for bringing me closure and making me realize people still know and care about these games!
Lb2 and 1 are so nostalgic. The physics and the way you could express yourself without even needing a mic through the sac guys facial expressions and hand movements. Such a staple.
Holy crap! So I wasn't the only one making sponge rockets and giant floaties! Man, this game was my childhood and relistening to the songs sent me on a nostalgia trip. Thank you for this video.
I the only one that found the soundtrack for the games scary or like get anxious during a challenge...please tell me i'm not the only one Edit: OMG yes it's the part in the game where there's like sticky purple?? Gum or something and your fighting on a ??train?? Or something with steam..I never got passed that level if I rmred correctly
You mean those spherical transparent things you can grab? That's jam. They work like Sackbots with the only difference being one time use. If the jam touches something, it vanishes and you have to get a new one from the dispenser. You can use it to grab prize bubbles in unreachable areas or active buttons with it.
this game will always have a special place in my heart; in 2010 i moved to a new city at 8 years old, so i struggled making friends at school due to my shy nature. But, I became friends with someone i found online and we used play lbg and lbg2 together everyday. Fast forward about 4 months later and we found out we both live in the same city, since then we’ve been best friends and it started with something as simple as messing about infinitely on littlebigplanet, i’ll always love this franchise. Thank you for making this video this has bought back such an important part of my childhood❤️
Hoping this video (and your channel) gets more attention. Not only because was this a great analysis of one of my favorite game series' of all time, but also because I just want more people to remember LittleBigPlanet exists.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video I grew up being a very physically sick child that spent most of her free time indoors, and LBP was the thing I always looked forward to each day ever since I can remember. I spent countless hours on it just making friends, playing the same 10-or-so levels over and over again and even after weeks and months of just doing that it always was just as much fun as it was the very first time around, simply because it was something I could do with friends, with people that I liked spending time with, with people that liked spending time with me. The franchise itself shaped me massively into the person I am today and it holds a really special place in my heart, it was there for my first "relationship" and my first heartbreak about two weeks later, it was there when I couldn't sleep at night and could simply hop into other people's game to not feel as alone and anxious, I played it all the way up to my late teens to calm me down during finals, it taught me to be creative with the things I have around me and showed me that there was so much beauty and joy to be found in simple everday items The music, the stories, the overall atmosphere it created was so utterly comforting and freeing that even to this day the soundtrack makes me feel like a kid again, huddled in blankets on a rainy day and spending my time talking to friends and playing silly levels we made together, not needing to grow up just yet. So really, thank you for this video, because it made me sob very happy tears not even ten minutes in :') Let's hope that someday we'll get to feel that nice, comforting feeling again. Let's not grow up entirely just yet, let's just enjoy this childish freedom a little longer.
@@BucketBard I absolutely agree! I also just found out about Little Big Infinite, so there's still hope! ^^ It's really inspiring to see so many people refusing to accept this defeat and keep fighting for what they love ♡
These games have such a (little) big and important place in my heart, these games alone represents my entire childhood and I don’t think I would be the same person I am today if it wasn’t for this amazing franchise. Heck I’m not even 5 minutes into this video and I already started tearing up a bit just listening to orbs of dreams again.
LBP was the first couch game I played with my 3 younger bros. We were 12, 10, 7, and 5. The memories are endless: competing for points, having sticker wars where we tagged each other until we couldn't see, running into community made survival levels (usually involving sharks) and screaming as we dragged each other into death... The nostalgia is so strong! Thanks for making this vid
the quality of the video to views and likes ratio needs to be raised like theres no way this good of a video can get this little recognition good job man
god i miss this game's community, it was amazing and this game raised SO many things for me. It raised my passion for story telling, for roleplay, for cinematography, for game designing, for ART. i just cant get enough of it.
i love how like every few years another big little big planet retrospective/nostalgia video shows up introducing so many people to literally my favorite piece of media probably ever
the nostalgia this video invoked brought me to tears. thank you. as soon as i am able, i will be getting Dreams, i cannot wait to see the wonderful creations people have made, and to try to make a few myself. this was a wonderful video.
honestly, this game was mine and my brothers entire childhood, we played this for hours and hours.. i miss it so much, how times have changed! i was only 15 and he was 6 years old.. now im 26 and he's 17 in college
I am so glad that there is another LBP retrospective video that doesn't have a knack for overusing the word "dead". While the franchise has basically been abandoned by Sony, its community is still there. It might be full of children who have only played LBP3 (like myself up until recently) they will still grow up and have some good memories just dicking around in the create mode, or playing community levels that range from excellent to that Mortal Kombat level you showed that had "I'm Sexy and I know it" playing in the background. Great Video!
never thought i'd feel this sad after watching the whole thing, brings back alot of memories i was 18 when LBP 1 was released and omg i was annoyingly obsessed with it, my ps3 was working 24/7 when me and my lil sisters playing it all the time. the fact that the series is officially dead breaks my heart, im so happy you made this time machine video so i can relive those little moments that i will never forget :)
I have so much nostalgia for this game! And it honestly sucks that it all ended because some random friend group wanted to do a d-dos attack as a "Prank"!
I got the PSP with Little Big Planet in 2010 on christmas and this game had me going crazy for it. The soundtracks when jumping through the levels, the stickers you placed along the way, the bubbles you found in hidden places, the worlds you created for you and maybe your friends for you to enjoy together. All that encapsulated in a visually striking, beautifully narrated story of an unusal hero. LBP is such a gem.
This is so nice to watch. I grew up playing LBP with my old neighbor ☹️ he used to come over everyday and play it with me on our PS3. Then we played LBP3 on the PS4. I still remember those first moments playing with him and I miss him a lot. I hope he’s doing well now!! Miss you a lot Levi.
I’ll never forget the great times my friends and family had on this game. I made so many levels and would spend so much time just making stuff. Miss it and it’s sad it’s gone forever now :/
im 18 and this is still my favourite franchise! The openings for 1 and 2 remind me of coming home from school with my cousins and playing for hours. :)
finding someone else have a big comfort for this game is amazing. i grew up without people knowning this game (i have no idea why). this game was my whole childhood, i had the best memories with my dad playing with him, and each time i open the game i can feel how 4 year old me would just spend time trying his best to learn how to use a controller at such a young age. LBP was surely something else, and jeez. im extremely happy that i grew up with it, it helped me a lot. tysm, this video helped me so much to bring back memories
Me and my brother could never remember how we got that 2D yellow head costume in the first game, or what the hell it was. I never expected to find out such a strong explanation here, what a fantastic video!
Little Big Planet 1, 2 and 3 meant EVERYTHING to me as a kid. Easily one of my favorite game franchises, ever. period. I totally agree that the second one is the best too. The story mode was awesome, everything about LBP 2 was awesome. Me and my older brother even bought the DC level pack and oh my god it was so fun. I'm so happy to find so many people that love this game as much as I do here on youtube in this comment section. I literally almost started crying when you mentioned the Jeff the Killer community levels because me and my brother would spend hours playing any creepypasta games we could find. My heart is full of this game. It's been a creative inspiration for me and so many others. Thx so much for this video!!
As someone who did watch the entirety of Ninja Cat, I can say that it was well worth and I have a massive amount of nostalgia for that alone. Massive props to Digital Panic, nobody could do it quite like they could
it was great seeing you mention some of the LBP2 community levels i actually played. if Sony let LBP be on PC, it could last forever its a shame thats unlikely.
So now my kids (4,7) are into video games… I busted out the ‘ol PS3 to keep them off my phone, and introduced them to LBG. We are playing & are having a blast! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be playing 12 years later with my children & also complete 2x player levels I never passed together!! They are loving creative mode which is pretty advanced in physics for their ages. Thank you Media Molecule!! You not only brought me back in time, but also made a new memory for me & my kids! Amazing documentary on one of the most in depth creative games ever….Hope to see more LBG content in the future.
I love watching retrospective videos on little big planet, makes me feel like it was a real game that existed instead of a dream. It’s almost like everyone knows what lbp is but never speaks of it ever. The game was one of my favorites and one of the reasons why I started doing my art. Also I relate to the thrusters on a sponge, I’d do that all the time lol
ACTUALLY pretty sick?!? Nah they were ABSOLUTELY amazing. I came home after elementary school everyday and played it with my friends from school, the most fun I’ve head in a looong time
I remember all the amazing memories I had on Little Big Planet.. It changed my life forever and it was my first game I ever got for the ps3 when I got both for Christmas. A time in my life I’m forever grateful for in my childhood. I spent every single day playing that game. I met my first ever PlayStation network friend. And met all kinds of people from different parts of the world on that game. The late nights playing, and logging on I was always excited to get back on to see what my friends were doing. Just felt different like I never really get anymore in a specific unique way. But that’s what made it so special. Great video man. LBP lives forever.. Wish kids growing up today could experience what we got to.
I met a few of my greatest friends because of LittleBigPlanet. It's really unfortunate that the game won't be coming back but I'll always cherish the memories.
media molecule recently announced Dreams would no longer be worked on and they’re working on a new project now. the game had such great potential. I grew up on the LBP franchise and cried watching your video, it holds such a special place in my heart. I’m still friends with those I met through the game, and even met a few of them in real life over the past few years!
LBP and Katamari are my comfort games. LBP was something else because it first slowly reminded you of being a kid using your imagination and creativity. Then handed you the keys to do the same and encouraged you to share. I want a nice big return of both, with new things
Little big planet (either 2 or 3) was definitely a big thing in my childhood, i rediscovered it awhile ago and seeing a video on this dead fandom, its just so amazing.
This brought me back to my sanity and early childhood when I would get on every morning carefree. Sometimes I wish I could go back to 2013 and hop on Jeff the killer😭
Man, I miss this game so much. I used to have so much fun with my little brother doing random stuff on the moon. Damn I feel like an old man reminiscing about them good ol' days lol
i absolutely adore LittleBigPlanet with my entire heart and there’s no other game like it, it’s been a major part of my childhood and i wish i could play it again 😭💗
the blast of nostalgia and joy i got watching this video was insane. pure childhood bliss. makes me so happy to see how many people still love this game as much as i do:)
LBP was literally my childhood, I played the game every single day of my life, it’s where I found most of my best friends today, and I even have friends who met their now spouses on there. Some of my old friends never came back online, and I’ll never find them ever again, but it’s about the times we had on there! Sometimes I go back on it but it’ll never be the same after online servers were shut down. I actually played from 2013 to the very day the servers started messing up. Will always be my favourite game of all time (sorry for being deep LBP was quite literally a huge impact on me)
I will ALWAYS hope for a LBP4 after how eh LBP3 was, but I know there is such little chance of it ever happening. So instead I’ll just watch these videos about others talking about how much they loved it too!!
Big Adventure is honestly a solid 3D platformer. Doesn't reinvent the wheel and a bit sad to lose the creative side of LBP but still a great title, even if the movement does honestly feel slow.
I don't remember laughing as hard as I did in lbp co op with my older brother we were big gamers and shared ps2,3 and 4. We never played together excpet for this game. Its very special and i love those memories with him.. It's a core memory I'll always keep with me.
This video makes me so nostalgic. It really reminds me of my early teen years and now different my life and myself are now. It truly brings a tear to my eye. I wish the servers were still up the first game. I feel like I didn't appreciate all the level customization had to offer, or how many levels were offered to me by other players. I usually just did bomb survival or zombie survival levels. Those were fun too but if I had the patience to try out and look for others I wonder what I could have found. PS: I once encountered this guy on the game who made a level with me and brother and he said he was an engineer. When he showed us one of his robots that he made he opened up one of the programmable chips that you find in the 2nd game my jaw dropped. Just a never ending complex network. I can't believe such a smart person took the time to go all out on a game for kids! :)
i grew up playing lbp on the ps3... it still makes me sad to find out what happened to it and how everyone as a collective just kind of stopped talking about it
These games were my childhood. I loved MW2 and other actions games as much as the next kid but LBP really opened my eyes to what games could be. I know the level-building is the main praise for these games, but lets not overlook how fun the story-mode actually was as well. To this day I maintain that if LBP (specifically LBP2) came out or was re-released on Steam it would blow-up since it would have wider access and keyboard and mouse controls would make level editing a lot easier. Sadly that will never happen.
I laughed everytime you talked about what you did in create mode, cause I quite literally did exactly the same things. With the floaty foam, I made it just light enough to ride it to the top, then grabbed it from the bottom and slowly floated down. 😂
This game means and has meant so much to me growing up, i spent hours with my brother as a child playing it, more so than minecraft and I hold those memories and the nostalgia i get from the soundtrack very close to my heart. i genuinely think its influence from a young age is why i am now studying at art school and dreaming of working in the games industry eventually. i cried at multiple points in this video because it just means so much to me. amazing video thank you :') long live the sea monster survival level i played over and over again
Im so happy to find my people wtf!😭😭 nobody understands how much little big planet has impacted me and it seems every time I talk about it no one remembers it 😭 WERE STILL ALIVE AND ALL GROWN UP, thank you for this!!❤ loved every moment of this!!
I used to always play LBP2 when I was a little kid. Recently I visited LBP3 and played some of those old horror games. I miss LBP2 and I wish I finished the story.
i remember playing the demo with my family when i was 6 or 7 years old, my whole family fell in love with it and we ended up buying the full game. to this day, lbp is still one of my favorite franchises
Also another interesting thing to note, the original Littlebigplanet sold over 4 million copies, which for the floundering standards of the ps3 (at the time) is absolutely insane. No wonder Sackboy was the de facto mascot for playstation during the late PS3/early PS4 era.
I literally loved these game so much I was never good at video games but this series of games just instilled so much passion for me and I was actually good at playing them I’m so happy it’s being talked about
I never got to play the online stuff of these games because I was too young to understand that an internet connection wasn't just something for computers but I have the best memories of the story mode. I had LBP 1 & 2 and it was one of my favourite game series ever. This video gave me so much nostalgia, I really wanna play it again.
I hated playing the game offline but I had to sometimes due to the internet I had at the time so I’m happy that you still had good memories just from the story mode
It was my favorite, I loved playing with my sister and my dad. We would always make little races together. And now I love knitting. I miss LBP, but our PlayStation is long gone
I played LBP 3 once on my friend's playstation and somehow it got stuck in my brain so much that I decided to spend an hour watching this video, and you know, I don't regret it.
whoa, bucket! i was finally waiting for a retrospective like this. it's a shame you don't have more subscribers because this shit absolutely rocks, from audio to editing. i was really enjoying the gameplay and things you put in the background as well to Simulate My Eyeballs. this is such a good video!! :D edit: also watching ninja cat is so worth it. i know you have no interest in watching it but it was genuinely one of the most formative memories in my childhood lmfao
My cousins, brother and I played the hell out of LBP2 when we were kids. Every weekend we would have barbecues at their house and that game was always on the rotation. I probably have more hours in bomb survival maps and listening to that God forsaken "sexy and I know it" song than the rest of my gaming career combined! 😂😂 I also remember us spending a whole day making this flying base with a tube and volleyball inside. I also published so many parkour and Ninja Warrior levels myself.. man... I really miss that game.
I remember playing this game with my brother, me and him suffered a lot of childhood trauma and sometimes when we were younger we had a hard time bounding, but when my parents bought this game, we had the most fun in a while, every morning in the summer time we would wake up to play it and finish the game, we played it again and again, joined peoples amazing worlds, made our own, it was amazing, I miss those times, I must try to uncover this game again. Thank you for making me have a good memory again.
i used to just open up the empty level and make stupid vehicles and contraptions and was entertained by it for hours as a kid, the sad thing is that i know if i were to play the game and do that now i'd be bored in a couple of minutes
Tbh, it fell off but that isn’t a bad thing! The servers are still up and that’s all that matters right now as we can all still enjoy the game whenever we want too!! Lbp is a classic
@@echo3788 Fuck the original poster, then. Does it at least mean that you can transfer content you had in the first two to the third game, if you make it available in the level?
I think it really shows that a game is crazy with creative possibilities, when you make a 1st person shooter in a game that only has 3 layers. I'm not mentioning the cod zombies levels and well, games inside this game. Man I'm missing that stuff
Me and my buds played a TON of LBP2 back in the day, absolutely loved it - I'm very glad to see such a comprehensive look at the series, it's such a shame it's moved so far out of the cultural consciousness because LBP1 was to me, a teenager at the time with no interest in the likes of MGS4, the start of the "Huh! Maybe there IS a reason to get a PS3!" era lol Also omg I feel you so much on the "yeah all we did was make sponges with thrusters on them and fly around" thing
Little Big Planet really was such an amazing trilogy. It’s sad that it’s just this lost series, imagine if it kept innovating and kept up with modern tech? It’d be amazing! The games really let you express yourself through your space, avatar, and levels like no other has since. They respect your intelligence by really opening the creative floodgates and basically just turn you into a dev for yourself or others. I grew up with them and they’ll always have a special place in my heart. I wish the community was preserved, I get emotional thinking about them due to how much of an effect they had on my formative years.
I grew up with this series 100% I LOVED these games with all my heart. I’m so glad I’m not the only one. It’s actually what made me start learning programming because all of the logic in game is the same concept. I still listen to sleepyhead by passion pit and it makes me think about how hype I was waiting for LBP2. 😂 I also want to mention how funny it was that we lived through a whole “scene” phase of costumes in the early games hahaha.
I used to play lbp2 every day with my friends in middle school. we used to customize our sockboys and the spaceship and mess around in the game, it was my favorite part of the day :) i had completely forgotten about it until i saw your video. thanks for the nostalgia
This video made me play LBG 3 again because i got inspired by this video to try the game again. I actually never knew that the servers of LBG 1 and 2 was shut down by hackers so that made me sad.
Random UA-cam suggestion but really great video. Nice to see people loved this as much as me. I put so many hours into this game back on ps3 and absolutely loved it.
Honestly I feel dreams crossed the line of being too complicated to really be accessible to many. Or appealing. The greatest thing about littlebigplanet, was that it could appeal to anyone, kids, teens, and adults, it allowed ANYONE to dream. Its "hand made with cardboard" art style really solidified that. Ontop of that it had a really good message, from the orb of dreamers introduction, to how the story levels covered countries around the world, it showed that regardless of your roots, creativity was in us all. It had this feeling of world peace. Even if you were not into creating, the game had a solid and fun base and an easy to get into online community. Dreams, just doesn't have any of that. A kid can't go make a small tutorial level, or a bomb survival, because it's not levels, its entire games you need to make. Personally I'd rather play the absolute worst LBP levels than the best Dreams games, because LBP has a good base, even in that avatar game, the bare bones engine always is apparent and shines through, its like random stuff you'd find on steam early access. No personality. I honestly think the first Littlebigplanet is the best game ever made due to its message, and impact on those who played it in their youth. Maybe not so significant in the history of video game development, but in its message and purpose it was a masterpiece.
I agree. Dreams has the creative tools, but what made LBP was Community and Multiplayer, both of which Dreams sorely lacks. Meanwhile SABA has the Multiplayer, but lacks the Community. Both games are great in their own right, but both are missing the core of what made the series so great.
it's nice to find someone who has the same love for this game
Yeah dude this game rocks
Exactly it gets me all hyper and happy like i just wanna go and play like a kid again

LittleBigPlanet*
This ❤️
Twenty-seven years old here!
It hurts
Finally some who just GETS… these games just as much as I do. And the weird amount of things that we have in common just reminds me of the old things about these games back in the day. Like this being from my memory the first video game I ever played, all I did in creative mode in the first 2 games was throw down those floaty blocks and let them send me to the level ceiling, And agreeing that the lbp karting final boos track absolutely fucking slapped. I AM YOU lmao. This video was very well put together and your channel definitely deserves some more attention.
Everyone has a clone, they just dont know yet, and this comment pretty much sumarizes that
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO USED TO DO THE THING WITH THE FLOATY BLOCKS
@@tinyalternate nah probably everyone has done it at some point.
Remember the 2nd last level of lbp 1?
I actually hard reset from raging from that very level, and yet it was still so fun to beat.
I know right
And next you're telling me that you made a bounce pad house in LBP2.
@@samsungtab3977 Honestly...Who hasn't lol
I the only one that found the soundtrack for the games scary or like get anxious during a challenge...please tell me i'm not the only one
Edit: OMG yes it's the part in the game where there's like sticky purple??
Can't tell you how much i appreciate that dude, thank you!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video
I grew up being a very physically sick child that spent most of her free time indoors, and LBP was the thing I always looked forward to each day ever since I can remember.
I spent countless hours on it just making friends, playing the same 10-or-so levels over and over again and even after weeks and months of just doing that it always was just as much fun as it was the very first time around, simply because it was something I could do with friends, with people that I liked spending time with, with people that liked spending time with me.
The franchise itself shaped me massively into the person I am today and it holds a really special place in my heart, it was there for my first "relationship" and my first heartbreak about two weeks later, it was there when I couldn't sleep at night and could simply hop into other people's game to not feel as alone and anxious, I played it all the way up to my late teens to calm me down during finals, it taught me to be creative with the things I have around me and showed me that there was so much beauty and joy to be found in simple everday items
The music, the stories, the overall atmosphere it created was so utterly comforting and freeing that even to this day the soundtrack makes me feel like a kid again, huddled in blankets on a rainy day and spending my time talking to friends and playing silly levels we made together, not needing to grow up just yet.
So really, thank you for this video, because it made me sob very happy tears not even ten minutes in :')
Let's hope that someday we'll get to feel that nice, comforting feeling again. Let's not grow up entirely just yet, let's just enjoy this childish freedom a little longer.
Oml I literally love your comment so much. So glad so many of us had such happy memories with these games :)
@@BucketBard I absolutely agree! I also just found out about Little Big Infinite, so there's still hope! ^^
It's really inspiring to see so many people refusing to accept this defeat and keep fighting for what they love ♡
These games have such a (little) big and important place in my heart, these games alone represents my entire childhood and I don’t think I would be the same person I am today if it wasn’t for this amazing franchise. Heck I’m not even 5 minutes into this video and I already started tearing up a bit just listening to orbs of dreams again.
i have such fond memories of these games. it's so nice to hear someone talk about them who enjoyed them as much as i did :)
:)
Thanks for making this vid
the quality of the video to views and likes ratio needs to be raised like theres no way this good of a video can get this little recognition good job man
Hey thanks dude! I'll get my lucky break someday ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
god i miss this game's community, it was amazing and this game raised SO many things for me.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Oh my gosh, it’s great to find some appreciation for this game! I used to play it with my sister so much, such a fun, creative game!
I wish I could rewind time to experience it all over again.
honestly, this game was mine and my brothers entire childhood, we played this for hours and hours.. i miss it so much, how times have changed! i was only 15 and he was 6 years old.. now im 26 and he's 17 in college
This game is great if you have siblings.
Yeah it is! my two brothers and I would always play this together when we were younger. I've got them to thank for my love for this game
never thought i'd feel this sad after watching the whole thing, brings back alot of memories
i was 18 when LBP 1 was released and omg i was annoyingly obsessed with it, my ps3 was working 24/7 when me and my lil sisters playing it all the time. the fact that the series is officially dead breaks my heart, im so happy you made this time machine video so i can relive those little moments that i will never forget :)
3:30 that little music line is so nostalgic its made me tear up
this game was a massive part of my childhood, glad to see that you also haven't let go of this forgotten jem of a game
Massive props to Digital Panic, nobody could do it quite like they could
it was great seeing you mention some of the LBP2 community levels i actually played.
if Sony let LBP be on PC, it could last forever
its a shame thats unlikely.
Lbp 1 will forever be a safety blanket for me, im still trying to refind my disk rn
Little big planet (either 2 or 3) was definitely a big thing in my childhood, i rediscovered it awhile ago and seeing a video on this dead fandom, its just so amazing.
sackboy in lbp4: *cmon thanos we dont have all day we gotta save quba from mario and luigi*
The lack of attention on this video is criminal, i love this video, a flawless cinematic masterpiece.
oh my gosh thanks so much bro
The Sponge Rocketship is a blast from the past!
Loved making that as well as skateboard ramps and other cool tricks/rides.
the blast of nostalgia and joy i got watching this video was insane. pure childhood bliss. makes me so happy to see how many people still love this game as much as i do:)
I KNOW THE MR. SANDMAN SONG AND I CAN’T TELL IF YOU WERE BEING SARCASTIC WITH THAT PART OR NOT😟
haha yeah that was sarcastic lol
THE LATINPLAYER10 SEGMENT OH MY GOD THIS TAKES ME BACK
LBP was literally my childhood, I played the game every single day of my life, it’s where I found most of my best friends today, and I even have friends who met their now spouses on there.
It's crazy that Sony would just stash away one of their biggest IP's with no news of any remaster.
I always thought these games were so beautiful, that was my favourite part about them.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
I laughed everytime you talked about what you did in create mode, cause I quite literally did exactly the same things. With the floaty foam, I made it just light enough to ride it to the top, then grabbed it from the bottom and slowly floated down. 😂
This game means and has meant so much to me growing up, i spent hours with my brother as a child playing it, more so than minecraft and I hold those memories and the nostalgia i get from the soundtrack very close to my heart. i genuinely think its influence from a young age is why i am now studying at art school and dreaming of working in the games industry eventually. i cried at multiple points in this video because it just means so much to me. amazing video thank you :')
long live the sea monster survival level i played over and over again
I really miss these games.
Im so happy to find my people wtf!😭😭 nobody understands how much little big planet has impacted me and it seems every time I talk about it no one remembers it 😭 WERE STILL ALIVE AND ALL GROWN UP, thank you for this!!❤ loved every moment of this!!
THE SNIPPET OF BORA BORA ISLAND LMFAO THE MEMORIESS
I used to always play LBP2 when I was a little kid. Recently I visited LBP3 and played some of those old horror games. I miss LBP2 and I wish I finished the story.
i remember playing the demo with my family when i was 6 or 7 years old, my whole family fell in love with it and we ended up buying the full game. to this day, lbp is still one of my favorite franchises
This was my go to game in the early 2010's, brings back so many memories. Especially the level at 27:20, could play that one for hours.
The first lbp is so nostalgic to me, it was one of the first video games I was ever introduced too.
Also another interesting thing to note, the original Littlebigplanet sold over 4 million copies, which for the floundering standards of the ps3 (at the time) is absolutely insane. No wonder Sackboy was the de facto mascot for playstation during the late PS3/early PS4 era.
the memories are flooding back. god the bliss of ignorance in innocent(ish) childhood was great.
The music for this game is so nostalgic for me
whoa, bucket! i was finally waiting for a retrospective like this. it's a shame you don't have more subscribers because this shit absolutely rocks, from audio to editing. i was really enjoying the gameplay and things you put in the background as well to Simulate My Eyeballs. this is such a good video!! :D
edit: also watching ninja cat is so worth it. i know you have no interest in watching it but it was genuinely one of the most formative memories in my childhood lmfao
Thank you so much! Had a ton of fun making this, glad it found an audience!
I also published so many parkour and Ninja Warrior levels myself.. man... I really miss that game.
lbp was literally a better roblox
Lbp is a classic
thats cool
The servers are still up, even 12 years later? You've got to be kidding me. Maybe I should boot up my PS3 again and revisit some old memories!
@@carnage0685 unfortunately it's only the lbp 3 ps4 servers that are up. Good thing is that you can still play lbp 1 and 2 user created levels in it.
@@echo3788 Fuck the original poster, then. Does it at least mean that you can transfer content you had in the first two to the third game, if you make it available in the level?
Eat lead.
Grew up with LBP1-3, blessed to have played it with my friends and siblings in its prime.
What I wouldn't give to play LBP for the first time once more...
Maybe there IS a reason to get a PS3!" era lol
Also omg I feel you so much on the "yeah all we did was make sponges with thrusters on them and fly around" thing
I’m not over the troll they did me with Sackboy: a big adventure. Just give us LBP 4 please 😢
I wish the community was preserved, I get emotional thinking about them due to how much of an effect they had on my formative years.
this is reawakening core memories inside me
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I also want to mention how funny it was that we lived through a whole “scene” phase of costumes in the early games hahaha.
5 star video right here, thank you for bringing me back to my childhood Bucket
Yeah dude totally get you! Dreams is daunting, for sure, but there's just no denying it's creative potential
I agree. Dreams has the creative tools, but what made LBP was Community and Multiplayer, both of which Dreams sorely lacks. Meanwhile SABA has the Multiplayer, but lacks the Community. Both games are great in their own right, but both are missing the core of what made the series so great.
