Thank you. I’m glad that this helped. I like the fact that you can run two sequences within the same sound module. So cool. Thank you for the comment and thank you for supporting the channel!
thanks for the tutorial, do you know if there's a way for the recording to wait for 1st note, or at least count in before it starts running? it's kind of hard to time when you try to record arped track (which is the only way to record as far as I see)
I was just asking myself the same question the other day. As far as I know, there is no way to start live recording on the first note. The closest I’ve come to doing this is using an external sequencer with a count in feature (a good example is the Keystep Pro by Arturia). Midi sequencing a sequencer to a sequencer seems convoluted but it’s the only method that seems to work for this device. I will keep trying and let you know what I come up with. Thank you for the excellent question.
Awesome channel man. Thank you for the info. Quick question though Will, this sequence midi off grid or is it all locked to the steps? I’m thinking of using this as a brain sequencer for four more of my other synthesizers. Do you think it would be good for that?
The JX-08 does try to snap notes to the grid. I’ve had success with syncopated rhythms in the past but it can be a little inconsistent. It definitely works well as a master clock. I’ll experiment with more off-the-grid sequencing to see if I can achieve more consistent results. I will definitely let you know what I come up with. Thank you so much for the question and the support!
Clarifying question. Are you trying to record the same pattern on parts A and B or are you trying to record different patterns on A and B and have them play back at the same time? Another question. Have you seen my video on dual layer patterns? ua-cam.com/video/vhVx3SaP6CI/v-deo.htmlsi=WEoS_siNyOs9OnAS Let me know if this helps. Thank you for the question and the support!
@@dncmusic8070 I did yes! Watched that after I posted this haha. I realized that there are 2 separate ways to enable parts A/B. I was trying to change parts within the sequencer not back at the home screen
Thanks for the breakdown! I’m looking at a used one and noticed in the manual that their is a menu option for ‘random patch’… do you know if that’s a randomly generated patch vs randomly selected, pulling from saved patches?
Another good question. The “rnd” menu option generates random patterns for the sequencer not so much patches. From here you can change the patches, add effects, change notes, etc. Does that help?
@@dncmusic8070 absolutely, I must have misread that. I am a bit less excited about that info but still an interesting synth! Thanks (rewatched & I missed that part 13:37 )
My apologies for the delay. While in sequencer mode, press and hold the pattern button that aligns with the save location. For example, press and hold button 9 to save sequence 9. Remember, you have to be in sequencer mode in order to do this. I will more than likely explain this via a UA-cam short. Thank you so much for the question and thank you for supporting the channel!
Best video I’ve seen so far explaining this sequencer, thank you !

Fantastic best teaching of an instrument I've seen in a long time, thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for the compliment and the support! I’m glad this was helpful.
Very well explained - thank you so much. 😊
You’re welcome. I’m glad that this helped. Thank you for your support!
Just got one today and this was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
You’re welcome. Thank you for tuning in. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for supporting the channel!
Incredibly hard to find and valuable information thank you 🙏
I appreciate the compliment. Thank you for supporting the channel!
Thank you very much for this.
You’re welcome. I’m happy to help. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for tuning in!
Is it possible to transpose sequence on the fly so it follows the key played?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH ❤
You're welcome 😊and thank you for tuning in and supporting!
Legend. Big help

Can you chain patterns?

Appreciate it! I cannot get part A and B to record a sequence together. It will only record one, I'm not sure what the deal is
