- The new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, began its life with a light-hybrid Eco model. Now Malibu is filling out its stylish lineup at both the bottom and top ends. MotorWeek host John Davis has the first impressions review of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu base model and turbo model.
They do it based on the amount of fuel used per 100 miles. The Camry V6 uses 4.0 gallons of gas per 100 miles which equates to approx. 25 mpg combined. The Malibu Turbo on the other hand uses 4.2 gal./100 miles and that equates to approx. 23.8 or 24 mpg combined.
I'm in the Indianapolis area, and I've seen quite a few Malibu Ecos on the road. The only drawback is the back-seat room with the Malibu; main reason? It shares its chassis with the Buick Regal -- a slightly smaller vehicle.
I'm a GM guy through and through. And I agree, I'd have the Fusion.
I don't like how they started the life of this gen of Malibu with a hybrid. All this makes me think is that every Malibu I see, turbo or regular ecotec, is a hybrid.
Then why do they say the combined number is based on 45% highway, 55% city driving...if that was true they would both get 25
the malibu turbo and camry v6 have the same city and hwy mpg of 21/30 but the malibu gets 24 combined while the camry gets 25 combined...why is that?
Top speed of the turbo is 155mph and gets abot 37 to 40 mpg.
It's General Motors yo.
the Accord is not much faster you might want to research that one again the malibu turbo does 0-60 in 6.3sec and 1/4 in 14.8 and it only has 20+hp less but 20ftlbs more than the v6 accord:)
So what now? You want a medal?
ah i dont think you understand simple implications. since gov owns gm shares what do you think happens when a car crashes bc of a defect? NOTHING. you cant sue the gm even if it kills a family member. How do i know? it has happen before
If this is Government Motors' best effort, then this car deserves to lose every comparison test. I like Chevy but my patience has been sorely tried of late and it's pretty obvious GM no longer values brand loyalty. I blame the Sonata for showing up with a lame-ass four-pot engine and it turns out Hyundai was inflating their cars' EPA figures. Now the Malibu sticks us with a four-pot that was never a great engine and still isn't. Fuel efficiency is hugely overrated.
This new Malibu is sexy as hell, let's see how it last.
The very first one (the sedan remake, not the muscle car) was a complete piece of shit!
The generation after that was OK for rentals, but a piece of shit other than that!
For this one, I'll keep an eye on it.
Malibu Turbo
government motors no bueno. theres an ethical reason why, can you figure it out
