- A lot of Pokemon have equivalent versions in every generation for example Pikachu: Pichu, Plus, Minun, Pachirisu, Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru & Morpeko!

While your list isn't perfect, I see what you were going for. This video is meant to show a general trend in pokemon, not be a 1:1 comparison. There are many connections that can be made when comparing the generations and many similarities between various types of pokemon. I mean there are 932 pokemon, there bound to be redundancies.

The mix of shiny and normal sprites seemingly at random is more infuriating than it should be.

For the dogs, I would have added Snubbull and Electrike as well aside from Furfrou instead of Litleo. Also, Espeon is the Gen 2 cat since it's a Nekomata. Shinx and Litten are also cats, and Litleo could arguably be included here as well.

Poochyena is a hyena, not a dog. Riolu is based on jackals which are in the dog family

I appreciate what you've done for us thank you for making this list, it's shown how far we've come in pokemon, sure the designs can be repetitive but they keep the formula the same so we can enjoy them the same way and maybe down the line Pokemon will make sequels to Legends perhaps the next will explain The Darkest day way back when Eternatus first arrived in Galar, and Even the Destruction of the Powerful Machine in X and Y! There's still so much they could do, although it is respectfully a lot of work

I'd say Pichu is Gen 2's Pikaclone because it is a Pikachu-like Pokemon that was made to be cute and appeal to fans like Pikachu does. They didn't need to make a pre-evolution, especially on their mascot

I would have just put "Regional Bugs" rather than "regional caterpillars." Also, Litleo's a lion - therefore a cat. Other lists I would have included would be the "regional fish," and "secondary legends."

They are a cat cousin for sure. But, if you want to refer to everything that has been called a cat, a cat then you would be required to include hyenas in that classification as a clad.
Similar to how humans are monkeys (as apes are a specific subset of old world monkeys). It is my favor thing to bring up to creationist who tell me I think we evolved from monkeys, I say monkey is just the layman term for primates.

Not sure how Zacian/Zamazenta/Eternatus isn't a trio even though legends from gen 4, 5, and 7 are grouped together. All of those gens have box art legends and their great enemy as the trio. Compared to the other listings though, I can let this one slide.

One type of equivalent that I think is unheard of is the regional electric type. Now just here me on this. While it’s not route 1, these Pokémon can still be obtainable considerably early on in the game, as long as they are obtainable before the 4th gym. The Pokémon that would fall into the regional electric type would be Raichu for Kanto, Amphoras for Johto, Manectric for Hoenn, Luxray for Sinnoh, Zebstrika for Unova, Helioisk for Kalos, Alolan Raichu for Alola, and Boltund for Galar. It really does surprise me that this isn’t an equivalent that most fans don’t know about, but I believe it’s one that should be acknowledged.
Kanto with magneton and Alola with vikavolt works too

I feel like bronzor and bronzong are the gen 4 equivalent of pineco and forretress, both steel type pokemon (in pineco's case only with forretress) with more deffensive focus in which the first stage has a round-like limbless mouthless body and in the evolution they become more sturdy and cool, i felt like that after using pineco at hg then bronzor at platinum

The trios pissed me off: Hoenn is so obviously the Regis and sinning should be the lake guardians
And for the legendary duo they should’ve used the box art legends because the other “trio” was only in remakes not originals

The “Hero of Many Battles” Zacian and Zamazenta are the Hero duo, but there crowned forms and Eternatus are the Combat Trio, Should of been included

Nope. Even then, Pikachu is technically the clone of Pichu, because Pichu is the first form and therefor comes before Pikachu anyways.

I'm glad I finally found a comment as upset by this as I am. If they released one or two eeveelutions each generation we would have most, if not all, the different types by now but noooooooo. 2. I wouldn’t put riolu in doggies because it’s just a generic furry esque pokemon compared to the others which are all quadrupedal
3. The caterpillars category should’ve been called regional bugs because different pokemon fill the rolls of pokemon like caterpie and weedle without being another caterpillar such as ledyba or spinarak, and kricketot or burmy
4. For legendary duos, I get why mewtwo and mew are a duo but as shown in a later category mew is a mythical pokemon not a legendary
5. Also going by the logic that mewtwo and mew are duos even though they’re legendary and mythical, shouldn’t manaphy and phione also be in that category
6. The new regi duo is missing from gen 8
7. A ton of legendary trios are missing, such as the regi trio, the lake trio, the forces of nature trio, The swords of justice trio, and the bountiful harvest trio (You can also claim the galarian legendary birds but i wouldn’t really count those since there is already the legendary kanto bird trio then again they did put alolan and galarian meowth for kitties) If there is too many trios for the frames in the video to keep moving smoothly then just make different categories like sub-legendary trios then mascot legendary trios to help with the fps issue
8. Tons of mythical pokemon are missing in the mythical category as well such as deoxys, darkrai, arceus, keldeo, genesect, volcanion, and zeraora
9. You compare a panpour to grookey even though they’re different typings and could’ve used pansage like you did with chimchar and pansear
10. This one isn’t really a mistake, it just annoys me… WHY ARE HALF THE POKEMON SHINY? They literally have no reason to be shiny and it just upsets me whenever I see one out of nowhere with no purpose of being there in the first place.
11. Krabby and corphish should’ve also included clauncher
12. Why is there a sealeo instead of it’s first evolution spheal
13. Mothim and dustox should’ve been included with venomoth, volcarona, and frosmoth
14. The island guardians should have also been included in the 4-way equivalents showcase
15. Last but not least kubfu should have been included with the bear category with teddiursa, cubchoo, pancham, and stufful

These are all really good points except for two:
1. Mythicals are confirmed to be a subcategory of legendaries, therefore a mythical is a legendary as well. Just like how every cow is an animal, but not every animal is a cow. Every mythical is a legendary but not every legendary is mythical
2. All equivalents shown in this video, whether two-way, three-way or four-way have included Pokémon from multiple generations. The island guardians are from the same generation. If you include the island guardians then there's a lot more that need to be included like the elemental monkeys, the three hitmon-'s and Magmar/ Electabuzz. You could even argue equivalents like Rotom forms and Alolan/ Galarian forms should be included. There's also something to be said about closely related Pokémon like Karrablast/ Shelmet or split evolutions like Silcoon/ Cascoon. I also still feel like Unown and Sigilyph are kinda similar and connecting those dots is a giant missed opportunity. There's also the fact that a lot of gen 5 mons where pretty much straight-up replacements for older-gen mons like Foongus/ Voltorb and Woobat/ Zubat because of the whole only regional Pokémon until National Dex thing.
(And before anyone asks, yes, I have way overthought all of this and yes, I do generally agree with the comment)
