My biggest dream is buying a pickup like that and repairing or maintaining that on my own but i am far away from it. I still cant stop watching 😄. I will be prepared before buying it.
Thank you for this, release bearing starting to squeal on my Hilux, so about to attempt it myself. Hardest bit will be the weight of the box as I dont have access to car lift and box jacks.
@@diydaly did the box last week Monday Tuesday, went pretty well thanks to your video. Did struggle with the weight of the box lifting it off and on with blocks of wood and trolley jack!! Noticed a wrap coming from the gear stick, checked the breathers were clear so not sure why it's doing that. Anyway thanks again was really helpful video
on the new ones the box wont come past the diff flange. mark it and remove it , also the exhaust downpipe fouls so undo flange and tie to the side, a couple of inches is all you get but its enough.
Managed to do the job on my own through your video. Thanks a lot

Nice work Gav
Understand the flywheel wasn’t taken off but what would the torque specs be for the 6 bolts holding the flywheel.
Good
Thanks
How much heavy is that gearbox?. I mean maybe 1/2 ton?
Not sure exactly tbh
Not that much, maybe 200kg max, two people can easily lift it once on the floor
Issue on a clutch
