Hey there, great video, very clear and self-explanatory. Thank you! One question though, are you sure that the gearbox capacity is 3.3L (mentioned at 8:44)? From all the manuals and specs online as well as my owners manual it says 2.2L for the 4x4 manual gearbox Just wanted to check before I go under and start with the oil change on my 2008 4x4 rig...
Have to say I’ve double checked and auto data is saying 2.2L! I’m not sure where I got that from , the the rear diff for limited slip diff lists 3.2l , I may have read the wrong listing! I’ll try edit this .. thanks for letting me know!
I saw this and done this on my n80. All goods until the transmission filled it up until it was coming out the top and that oil changed and expanded causing it to leak from anywhere it could. So I’ve just dropped the pan and replaced the gasket just be careful doing the trans put in how much came out of it before.
Great video, thanks. I called to a parts shop and they sold me 75/90 oil for back and front diff oil (2011, Hilux, 2.5 D4D, manual). Main dealer advised 75/85 some days later while getting other parts. Is it okay to use the 75/90 I got? Owners manual says 75/90 too!
Hi mate great video any fresh links for the oil? I have a 2015 older style hilux it's getting on 180,000 miles amd thinking it's needing this a its next service thanks in advance

Torque settings required:
Front differential : drain plug 65NM / filll plug 39NM
Gearbox : drain plug 37 NM / fill plug 37NM
Transfer box : drain plug 37NM / fill plug 37NM
Rear differential : drain plug 49NM / fill plug 49NM
Always remove the top filler nut first (in case the nut is unable to be shifted because of rounding or damaged) before removing the bottom drain nut
👍
This should have been pinned. Most important comment of the video. No good draining the fluid if you don't know if you can fill it.
Great advice

That front diff oil looks more like water than oil
