I’ve always appreciated WP’s tactical commentary as he plays. I leaned a lot with the Road to Volikalamsk campaign in IL2,Tank Crew. If there were more videos running through the GHPC missions with explanations (‘flanking to the right of a hill here due to suspicion there are tanks over that ridge’ - type of thing) I would certainly watch.
The 30mm is awesome, I have less issues penning frontal armor on PCs, which I cannot say the same with the Bradley even with AP. I find that 400m is a good range to keep as a battle sight range/combat zero
The actual fire rate is similar to the speed you normally knock on a door. That fire rate in the game right now is like 800 RPM. It would be awesome, but 30mm firing at that speed would be completely insane. 25mm is fun enough at 200 RPM.
@@jonttul what you hear inside bmp while shooting has nothing to do with how it sounds outside of bmp. I've heard maybe several thousands of bmp 2 shots as an infantryman during my conscript days in russian army, and here i find it rather familiar
You said that East German voices have been added as well and I was curious is there a different accent to East German voices like there is regional dialects here in the states and are they duplicating those in the simulation. If that is the case, that is certainly cool.
To answer the question of if there are regional dialects: Yes, a lot of them. The Saxonian dialect for example is from former East Gernamy. An example can be seen in this video: ua-cam.com/video/7XW4BJ2B1uU/v-deo.html I'd even argue that there are stronger dialects in Germany than in the states, as Germany was split into a lot of different countries until (in European terms) realtively recently (Bavaria and Saxony for example were independent until 1871). There are also some words that are uniquely East German

Taking out AH-1S Cobras with the gun and the Konkurs is fun as hell. Love the BMP-2 so far, I am still curios as to whether or not you can shoot down planes, cause I got quite close to shooting down a Phantom. Either way, I can't wait to see what they add in the future.

It seemed like a very easy mission. No threat in the beginning. Can you adjust difficulty? If so, what was the difficulty set to? The only real threat was in the end but it was 3 against 1.
This thing is so fun, but I have such a hard time getting the range right when the enemy is out a ways. I waste too many rounds trying to walk them in. Anyone have any tips?
@@ActionScripter Nice to hear the German voice. It sounds like you got someone with a very refined voice for the voice lines. Do you see a chance to include a more typical East German accent (for the 80s and 90s) into the game in the future?
@@kilianortmann9979 Unlikely. Coordinating and implementing voice work is one of the most labor-intensive processes in the whole game, and we don't want to double up the German work. Instead, neutral/high German voices will be used to construct both eastern and western command flows.
sorry for playing smart ass, but I have to correct you 😂 there is no "west German" or "east German" voice. there are regional dialects in many places in the East and in the West. and there are regions in the East and I the west where people speak hochdeutsch (no dialect). so hochdeutsch is not uniquely "West german". e. g. in Mecklenburg - Vorpommern (East Germany) people speak hochdeutsch. but in e. g. Baden (West Germany) people speak with a dialect.
Game looks and sounds great, I know this is a WIP but I can not believe that the opposing side did not react and score any hits. Always seems so one-sided.
these are the april fools missions. part of the prank is that the first three missions are you blasting everything with the 30mm easily, and mission 4, all that changes :)
I wish I had this game still. I supported them on patreon during it's development, but I was one month/5$ short of getting the game and I'm not going to pay full price on top of what I already paid into it.

The actual fire rate is similar to the speed you normally knock on a door. That fire rate in the game right now is like 800 RPM. It would be awesome, but 30mm firing at that speed would be completely insane. 25mm is fun enough at 200 RPM.
The BMP-2 has a slow auto setting and unregulated setting which is at least 550 RPM, but can be as high as 900 RPM. It's called the fun switch.
Btw, the sound of bmp in game is the closest one to real 2A42 cannon of BMP-2 i've heard in video games
I've shot about 500 rounds through a 2A42 and this really isn't even close to what it sounds like.

The HE can kill M113s if you aim for the gunner, usually only takes a few before it's considered a mission kill, because well, the gunner is now mist.
I love how the commander is yelling like crazy, and you're like, "nah I'll jsut ignore the commands"

30mm HE can pen the side of an M113, it'll instantly set it on fire if it does and saves your AP shots

I do think too many people give too much credit to the M113's "armor" in what it can actually stop. It's basically wrapped in toilet paper.

Is there any way to control your platoon or allied platoons? I really miss the overhead map view from M1 Tank Platoon 2 and Steel Beasts Pro.
Yeah you can give them basic follow/halt orders and change formations and spacing

BMP-2 and German voices were ready and Russian voices were not ready, so we made it an NVA BMP-2 for now

They're barely armored against small arms, .50 and above rip them to shreds. They're the modern day tommy cookers.
