As of 1980 it absolutely was... especially against M60s. The original M1s were only slightly better and with the first 105mm guns a front penetration was not guaranteed against a T-72. By 1991 however, the M1A1 with the 120mm guns against the EXPORT versions proved to be like using a rifle against an opponent 20 yards away that only had a knife.
@@Tigerheart01 M1A1 first saw service in 84 lol and was perfectly capable of killing all vehicles, like you said, except the T64BV and T72B though M829A1/2 later could easily kill both. Those two shells entering service in the late 80s and early 90s.
@@Tigerheart01 lol nope 105mm guns were slicing through the T-72 like hot knife through butter and proven by soviet test against the T-72 using a israeli magach tank as well as T-64 and suprisingly a T-80.
That intro briefing was giving me serious Conflict Desert Storm vibes when the narrator briefs your upcoming mission ❤️👌 Love the GHPC content, had it a few months and really enjoying it! Can't wait to see this game progress!
Is that “WMD” I hear playing in the background during the intro? Fantastic music choice, probably my favorite music bit from all of COD1 or at lest in the top 3. Plus it hit me with plenty of nostalgia.
I hope they add the commander's position with the TKN-3 optic and some commanding abilities. Usually the crew would remain buttoned up during combat. With Soviet tanks there was hardly any eyeball-defilade possible.
Just a thought. Soviet doctrine was to fire platoon volleys on targets to ensure hits. The platoon leader would fire a round at the target and then the other two (three) tanks would note and engage the target. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially on the offensive, but doctrine was also to fire from the halt, so that made it easier to volley as a platoon.
The reason for this is that the TCs in the other two tanks would be second-year conscripts in most cases, as their gunners would most certainly be. They might have fired ten live rounds each year, most of their training being on reduced caliber training weapons using models and dry firing. Thus, the reserve or regular army lieutenant was expected to do the work of acquiring, determining the range and putting the other two TCs on target.
@@michaelsnyder3871can only partially agree with this, as there would also be more experienced crews which would most likely drive t80s and t64s, as more superiour vehicle.
Can you build your own missions in this game? Are all vehicles available at purchase or do you have to lvl up like WoT? How do you guys like this game?
Love the graphics and the time frame for the scenarios. The AI is not that bright. The APCs and M60's sitting close together, and in the middle of fields instead of using trees or buildings as cover.
I dont get the T27 thing but i notice at 7:13 you said the only crewman who escaped the SABO srapnels was the gunner. If im correct you meant the guy standing up which would be the loader :)
Steal Beasts is lame. First of all, you only get to use 2 tanks (Patton and T-62) and the combat is lame. The AI gets laser accurate aimbot and the graphics are so shit you can't even see which pixel is supposed to be the enemy tank.
WolfPack keeps talking about his lack of tactical information - location of enemy units etc. To be realistic I think Warsaw Pact forces would, rather than pushing their T-72s in blind, have done reconnaissance via aircraft, or at least ground vehicles like the BRDM or scout cars like the old BA-64 (although by the T-72 era it would have been relegated to paramilitary duty rather than frontline combat). The Soviets also made dedicated recon versions of the BMP-1 and 2 but I don't see the East Germans having used them. Maybe in a combined / joint action?
@@Tamburello_1994 did I ever say It had to come out tomorrow. I know game development takes a very long time especially with such a small team. I don't expect an actual mission editor for like a year or two, just let me have some hype for the game damn

Lol, good joke man. First, Russia isn't kicking NATO's ass cause NATO isn't even in Ukraine. If NATO decided Russia needed to be put down, you'd see Leopard 2s rolling down Red Square and US Marines raising the stars and stripes over the Kremlin within a month. Secondly, Ukraine is hammering the Russians. That copium must be addictive.
