Iggy that's great! The improvements over time are remarkable (I remember visiting a very different Jekyll island 30 years ago). So glad to see the island flourish in so many ways! 👍 -Howard
My wife and I took our honeymoon on Jekyll Island. We have been back every year since, sometimes more than once per year. We have been married 35 years this April. Such a wonderful place.
Jekyll Island is my favorite place that been to. And I’ve been to a fair few places. I’ve I love it there!! My late husband and I with our son camped there. It was $2 to get in then, last time I was there it was $5. I want to go back so badly. May just go by myself. It’s been greatly developed it appears. But still has a lot of nature. Bravo to GA for keeping true to the promise to keep it natural. I TOTALLY enjoyed your vlog. Will look for more.
Your video of Jekyll Island was awesome. I use to go there alot when I lived in Savannah. Haven't been there since 1990 something. I need to get back down there soon. Thanks for the tour.
Hi Ken! So glad you enjoyed it. We loved visiting! It's such a beautiful place with such fascinating history. ☺️ Hope you can visit again soon! Thanks for watching! -Katelyn
This is definitely one of your best VLOGs ever. Jekyll Island owes you both a debt of gratitude. Great job capturing the essence of this amazing place. Jekyll Island has such a unique vibe to it that needs to be experienced to be fully understood.....its almost like you are in a fantasy bubble and all your problems and challenges don't exist when you are there. I could not believe my eyes at minute 10:54......can it be that Ole Blue made its way back to the US??? This tale needs to be its own VLOG!!!!! PLEASE tell me my eyes are not deceiving me...........
Cash we weren't sure you would catch the cameo! 😂 It's the new, improved "Ole Blue" and I HAD to get them when I found them at the store. Let's see how long this generation lasts... Hahahaha Thanks so much for the kind words on this episode, it means a lot to us to hear it from someone who's been watching us since almost the beginning! We feel like we're starting to hit our stride more with the style and pacing of our vlogs, and viewership keeps climbing so we must be doing SOMETHING right! As always, thanks for watching and your support. ❤️ -Howard
My beloved and I went to Jeckyll Island in 2004. We went for my birthday, over Thanksgiving. The restaurant's served beautiful Thanksgiving buffets. The night before we had to leave was a huge full moon. We walked the beach with the driftwood and sat on one of the trees and snuggled under a blanket watching the moon, the ocean and each other until dawn. That was 16 years ago....it was the best date ever. Thank you for helping me to enjoy those memories once again. ❤
Aww that sounds amazing!! Driftwood Beach is the perfect spot for that. And I bet that Thanksgiving buffet was delicious. 🤤 Thanks for sharing those memories with us! 🥰 It's such a special place! -Katelyn

Such a fantastic island to visit. I always want to stop when we head north from Fl and when we come home! Have loved it from childhood travel with my parents.

The tour looked fun and good to learn about history. Glad you went back there. Thank you so much for this video. Have a great day and week and see you soon.
My sister lives about an hour away and we spent our thanksgiving on the island!!! My family loves everything about the island! Tortuga Jacks was a favorite of ours!
Denise, it's true! Vinny is as genuine in real life, too. He shared that his past is also with historic hotels, and it shows in his love for Jekyll Island. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
One of my favorite places on the planet. We went up there from Jacksonville about once a month when we lived on that side of the Us. I love going in the winter when the crowds are low.
We're about on the same schedule right now, once a month! 😂 It's a fantastic place to visit, with so many different activities (or to intentionally do nothing at all). Any particular favorite spots on Jekyll Island? Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads We love to rent bikes, or bring our own if we have them, and just explore the island that way. We also love the little main street area. Sitting outside eating some Fuse Frozen Yogurt and watching all the people. We make it a point to stop by the sea turtle center often. We find something new every time we visit, but since we're in CA now we don't get out there often anymore. A couple more years here and we'll be retired and full-time RVers.
You likely know this but it was not mentioned in your video. At 1:30 and 1:38 visible in the background is a ocean-going car carrier that hit a sandbar and rolled on its side. The HUGE superstructure you see is actually a ginormous saw that is cutting the vessel, cars and all, into sections which are loaded on a barge and then take to a shipyard (on the Gulf coast, I believe) for salvage and (again I believe) for re-sectioning and rebuilding the ship. Quite an amazing task.
Sheryl, I wish we could have taken a ride on them, you're right! We packed in a lot over one weekend so we could share more in this episode, but you can't help but see all the bike paths around the island! Maybe next time we can rent some bikes. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
In weather that requires down coats, you can see why they might forgo this activity. But the 20 mi.+ of serene bike paths ARE one more reason to visit this elegant island.
In case you didn't know, at 1:31 and 1:41 in the video you can see a strangely shaped yellow structure in the back ground. This is a massive crane that is slowly dismantling an auto carrier ship by the name of Golden Ray that capsized in 2019while it was sailing out of the Port of Brunswick. It was loaded with millions of dollars worth of cars and SUVs. They are cutting the ship into sections and then barging it to a scrapyard in New Orleans. The ship capsized because the captain hadn't made sure that the ballast was properly set. You can see that the crane is actually straddling the hull of the stricken vessel.
PS I comment more than once pretty often - so many good parts I don’t want to forget what I wanted to say! Ha ha! The turtle place was also amazing - wow! When we were on our boat in The Sea of Cortez we motored by a turtle entangled in a plastic gunny sack. We backed the boat up, Jim hung over the transom and cut it all off of her. She stared at us after - it was amazing. Pretty sure we saw her a week later about 10 miles away (markings/colorings on her shell).
Wow, that is a WONDERFUL memory, and I can't even imagine how lucky that turtle was after crossing your path! It was so sad to see how badly some of the turtles are injured when they arrive but incredibly uplifting that so many get to return to the sea after a stay at the center! -Howard

Mary, thanks for watching, and great question! I'd have to think on it, the coastal areas each have benefits. We loved the energy and amenities of Hilton Head, Jekyll Island was just gorgeous, and we haven't even talked about Florida! 😂 I'll give that a think and see if I can come back with a better answer. 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads ....thanks Howard! I appreciate your feedback. We are looking for our ‘forever’ home to retire. I’d love to be in a shore area as we own a shore property in NJ now.
Stan, uh, it isn't easy! 😂 We are definitely realizing more exercise is in our future if we keep eating like that! The sacrifices we make for your enjoyment, I guess. 😂 -Howard
Isn’t it eerie that the main home was built on a blood Sacrafice altar!! The land was stolen .. They Sacraficed babies..On Jekyll Island!! Why would someone want to build over that.. The story behind this place gives me the creeps.. We always know how to over shadow these types of places with luxury and places appealing ti the eye!!! I literally discovered this video after seeing the history of this place!!🙁

This place looks amazing! I’m pretty sure that steak weighed more than Katelyn does! 😂All of that food looked so amazing. I’m so hungry now! Great video as always. Love it. ❤️
It was SO big! 😆🥩 And delicious. I ate all of it. 🤭 So glad you liked this episode Shannon, it's such a special place. And yesss all the food is amazing! -Katelyn
OMG..how do you guys handle that much good food ?????..Killin me
We handle it VERY CAREFULLY. j/k we eat with reckless abandon that will likely catch up to us someday. 😂 -Howard
I've been there by boat while heading to FL on the ITW and twice by car, well worth checking out. I highly suggest taking the paid tour for a behind the scenes look.
Another great video
Thank you so much for your video! They have a half marathon there and I anticipate doing it next year so I was curious about what there would be to do afterwards...and its awesome that at least one place has gf options on the menu!
Thanks, Andrea, so glad you found us and our episode helpful! There's so much to do on Jekyll Island and you won't leave hungry (GF or otherwise) from there! Hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
we just visited though we camped elsewhere I wish we would have found this vlog before we went there...
William, now you know for next time! How did you enjoy your trip to Jekyll Island? Any particular favorites during your visit? Thanks for watching and hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍-Howard
I think your videos are getting better and better & getting more splashy. The food continues to make me gain weight just by looking at it.
😂 Gary, you crack us up. Appreciate the kind words, we're starting to feel like we are finally hitting our stride with the style of our episodes! -Howard
This looks so amazing 🌸💕🤗 I cant wait to go and explore , thanks for sharing
You're so welcome! Hope you enjoy the island as much as we did! ♥️🙌
Wish we made time to go there. Went to Tybee instead. This looks more like what I was hoping for! Excellent footage and editing! Very enjoyable. :)
Jekyll definitely is special. We haven't been to Tybee yet! Hopefully you can visit one day. Thank you SO much!! -Katelyn
Great Video
We loved Jekyll Island !! Just subscribed!! We just posted a video on our channel the other day!! LOL!! Enjoyed your video!!
My school is going to Jekyll island in March!
I run the history tours over on Jekyll with lighthouse trolleys and I cover the whole island so when you get a chance to come back, come join us.
Your videos are great! How do you stay so thin?
Rob......... We probably need to exercise more if we keep eating like that! 😂 Thanks so much for watching, and glad you're enjoying our videos! 👍 -Howard
We go to Jekyll Island every single year!
Should check out the Wanderer Memorial next time
irs funny how i saw the video om my for u when i just got home from this place
That's a funny coincidence! What was your favorite part of your visit to Jekyll Island? Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads The food
You 2 are adorable.
What kind of dogs are those two short adventure pups who look similar to eachother?
Hey wassup I go here for a week every year I’ve gone here since I was 8 months old my favorite beach is Glory beach and lots of the walking dead was filmed at Jekyll island
What time of year is this? I’m looking for a great place to spend a week in the us in late January
Hi Trent! That's exactly when we were there 😊 perfect time of year to visit!
It seems you’ve been to a lot of shoreline locations in the Southeast region. Do you have a favorite area you wouldn’t mind living in?
Mary, thanks for watching, and great question! I'd have to think on it, the coastal areas each have benefits. We loved the energy and amenities of Hilton Head, Jekyll Island was just gorgeous, and we haven't even talked about Florida! 😂 I'll give that a think and see if I can come back with a better answer. 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads ....thanks Howard! I appreciate your feedback. We are looking for our ‘forever’ home to retire. I’d love to be in a shore area as we own a shore property in NJ now.
♥️👍♥️
Wow! Talk about Food-Porn! Those dishes looked awesome! How do you two stay so slim eating like that?!?!
People are weird
Lived in Ga 3 times it sucked people were stuck up big time
She is in shape. She must not be eating half the food she orders. Little cheesy but I like this show, they are likable
🤣 Hi James! You must be new here because a common theme in our videos is definitely our food segments and I can honestly say I eat everything I order. Promise! 🙌😅 I love food lol. We're glad you found us and hope you'll stick around for more cheesy fun 😉 thanks so much for watching! -Katelyn
Elites hang out Jackyll island
After watching you guys eat all that food in your videos its a wonder your still so thin...lol
Went island hoping about 20 years ago. Jekyll island smelled like pure sewage. So sickening we left. Hopefully its better now. Told my wife it's just the Federal reserve we was smelling.
I’m gonna guess maybe its the swamps? They tend to have a suffer smell
U should have kids.
