I had P0087 high pressure fuel rail failure (or something very similar). I changed the fuel filter and all is good. 2008 Ford Focus. if anyone has the same I would start with that. Many garages do a service on your car that does not include a fuel filter change. It can over time get clogged up or start to fail.
Can often be the cause, I service this car to spec, it had a new fuel filter on its last service, then went into main dealer in Granada for this issue and they put another fuel filter on it, this was basically throwing a part at it. they were happy to take over €100.00 for the pleasure, without resolving the issue.
I have a Ford 1.4tdci with fault code P019160 Fuel rail pressure sensor range performance error. The car is now unreliable and constantly cutting out .What I have noticed is air in the low pressure pipes and as much as try to remove it using the hand pump the air is still present. Do you think this air in the low pressure pipes be causing this problem?
Hi, Thank you for the comment. The system should not be drawing in air, I would start by checking the leak off pipes and a visual of the system for any leaks. Look at live data and see what the fuel rail pressure is reporting. Hope this helps.
In my Peugeot partner tepee 2016 1.6 hdi at 157000km is it possible high pressure pump is dead? The problem is it is start up with difficulty and on the way the stop sign car to dashboard and car shutting down. After a while it is starts again. All injectors tested and good. We have tested magnetic fuel Regulator - it is ok as well. Now remain only on high pressure pump. Is it possible?
In my Peugeot I found the problem. Fuel pump pumping with high pressure to injector and injector back chahnel could not resist high pressure. So replaced all 4 back channel and injectors adjusted in computer as per manfucters recommendation and now the car has no issue.
I have a 2014 Peugeot 308 1.2 petrol puretech. Trouble code: P0087 for low fuel pressure. Car goes to Limp Mode once above 40kmh. Took it to many mechanics, no solutions yet. Any idea what it can be?

It's a interesting test, but has nothing with the press failure. The press sensor must be located somewhere on or before input of injector (common rail), not on output. On output, there is just combustion space..
Agreed in part, this is an easy test for the average person, as stated in the video it is not a conclusive test and one test in a range. In this case the vehicle had a new injector and has been fine since. Leaking injectors can have an impact on the fuel pressure. Thank you for your input.
@@rpsspain1966 yes the live data shows that it drops ever so little. I’ve taken it to 2 different garages and 1 of them said they haven’t got a clue but it’s probably the fuel pump and the other said they would have to try and do other things to eliminate the problem.
@@rpsspain1966 also when I’m driving it cuts out after about 15 minutes but then starts again as soon as I come to a stop. The van starts first time every time. Could you help. Thanks

You need to look at live data, to see what is going on.

I have code p0087 and changed the filter but sill not fixed.
It is not always a filter issue for p0087. look at live data for fuel pressure sensor. while driving in varying conditions.
