- This filter is also the same for citroen dispatch, peugeot expert and partner. Euro 5 engines. the priming procedure to eliminate any air in the system. keep priming until the pump on the filter is tight. if the engine struggles to start more priming time is required.
Thanks for this demonstration, it’s been years since I replaced one of these so was a bit rusty on a Citroen as used to Fords but it’s basically the same filter & engine , I just pre filled the filter & ran the engine for 5 min with no cut out so very pleased 👍🏆

There was fuel coming up when i was priming. It was around the primer pump. I was nearly ready to cry 😂 everything that can go wrong is going wrong these days. I think the white plastic might have cracked r something. Besides that there was fuel between the black pastic and the white. After i took apart the old. Also that thing wasnt popping up after i twisted it to release the fuel. I had undo the three screws first and pull the filter away from the plastic to release the fuel. Anyways i prayed the the Lord for everything to work and it seems like it has praise the Lord. This is the second time i did it the first time went much smoother.
I think i might have to buy the black plastic part with the primer and replace it maybe.
Word of warning try to finger tighten the three screws so the plastic does not crack. Be careful taking the pipes off particularly the one at the back a bit of the yellow plastic part you push in broke off on mine it was very hard to open. Like i said the first time was much easier. I hope if i have to do it again that it will be more straight forward.
It might be good to use a wide flat head screw driver to put the part to open it.
After priming for a few minutes,take off the pipe on the right with green clip. Pour some diesel inside the hole and put hose back on making sure it clicks closed. Prime again afterwards

Just done friends 308 ! Pressing that bulb down done my head in, so I pulled off fuel line to filter and via a hose and a tiny funnel filled it up ! Way quicker this way 👍
thank you, iforget to fix the middle sensor and struggled more than 1 hour to get the fuel out by pumping, 6:20 save me . Citroen Aircross 2012.
Excellent video. The Haynes manual has got it all wrong. Makes sense now I have watched this.
I managed to crank engine over a few times to build pressure, and I slackened the plastic centre fitting to enable air to escape filling the filter bowl, it worked for me, didn't touch the prime pump, didn't realise that's what it was for!!
This has the same fuel filter as my Peugeot 207 SW 1.6 Hdi so this vid would be helpful to me
I was priming for ages, van wouldn't start, then I realised I was pumping diesel straight onto the ground! The lever wasn't clipped shut even though I had turned it anti clockwise. You have to push it down as well as anti clockwise for it to lock properly!

This method doesn't work 100%. You need to prime the filter first with a suction pump on the outlet (RH) spigot, THEN use the priming button to pressurise the fuel rail. If you try to use the priming button alone it simply isn't man enough to lift fuel out of the tank.

Had same problem, spotted a leak between filter and connectorcap. Sealing between filter and cap not as it should be.
Meybe to much pressure by priming to hard. everuthing ok on second try: 3x cranking

why just not filling the fuel filter with diesel while you change it so it will be less effort to prime it
Alright mate I'm working my bosses peugeot expert 2014.1.6 hdi any idea where the fuel pump is. The back of van is full of shit I'm guessing could it be in tank ?
I know it’s a bit late but they don’t have fuel pumps the fuel is drawn from the tank by an injection pump in the engine bay. Changed fuel filter on mine couldn’t get it to start after a few hours I bought a priming pump attached it to one of the hoses and primed van started

I went through the procedure and found out, that the right lower Torx was stripped. 👿
Now I have to get some Tool the get the screw out and file a slit inside the head. 👿
Agree with previous comment, perfect instructions, including hiccups & tips. Undertaken this procedure on many occasiions and it coundn't have been shown & described better. Well done. Fascinated by the battery angle driver; useful tool.

Replace today and have leak fron the down..i didn't see any seal ring or something that goes there what can cause that
After changing the fuel filter i do the priming but the car doesn't start now there is no fuel coming to the filter.any ideas why?

i was afraid a screw would accidentally fall in the oil cap you left open,i suggest you keep it capped.
i want to do injector purge on the same engine but not sure are the lines marked green and white return and feding lines or are there more lines?

Thanks for your video I just changed the fuel filter. Half way through wring this i remembered I didn't put the black switch back to original position. Thankfully I was able to put it back without having to take it all apart again. Do you have a video on changing the pollen filter ?

I accidently turned the middle housing during the filter removal but didn't noticed. I was unable to get the fuel out (pumped like crazy) and called the ADAC ... it couldnt help either.... than, later on, i found your Video with that hint at 6:20!
Closed the valve, pumped the pump and... day and a lot of money saved:)

I have problem in morning some time i need to pump thet cap to start engine i need to park car nos down to prewnt problem, what can be is thet pump one way walwe?
very interesting something is causing air to get into the system it sounds like there could be a leak or there is an issue with the fuel filter not sealed properly. hope you got it sorted it out
