I’m glad he was open about this because we all have challenges with family members that may take us there. Christian or not, we’re all human beings with emotions that God is still working on. My prayer is for him and his son to find healing.

I am so glad that Kirk stated he's not his son's equal because so much is happening in society today . There are many parents that allow their children to be their best friends and equals. His son and no family should never broadcast their feuds on the social media. I pray for healing for the family.
Been in and still in that position of Mr Franklin and understand exactly why he reacted to his son the way he did, It's a never ending love to the end battle. My thoughts exactly, it’s not sitting well. First he say he called a counselor then he double back and say it was his best friend. Which one was it Kirk. Then you say your wife wasn’t on the phone laughing...what’s really going on.

As we know, in many Black families (especially religious ones), you can be considered disrespectful for so much as sneezing too hard. The spectrum of what's considered disrespectful to Black elders can be unreasonably broad at times. Just voicing an adverse opinion about something in a calm voice is enough to get young person cursed out or even smacked. The responses were so vague that I wanted Tamron to ask Kirk the SPECIFIC acts of disrespect that Kirk is alleging. This was a softball interview.

This act of Kerrion's taping his father's conversation was premeditated and mean spirited. The disrespectful intent was a ploy to embarrass his father. To replay their phone conversation on the air was exploitative and unconscionable. Tam should have interviewed Mr. Kirk Franklin solely on his honorable historical musical genres. Franklin is one of the great Black multi categoried music trailblazers, and a man who is meritoriously recognized for his musical genius. Yet he was victimized by a sensationalized media distraction, all based on a telephone call from a self absorbed estranged son. Psychologically, given the tumultuous year of devastation, isolation, heartaches and grief from deaths and life's uncertainties, there was no joy created by this show. This program was tasteless and deplorable. The viewers were shortchanged. What a disservice to have compromised the real intent of the show, which was to acknowledge accolades for Mr. Franklin's talents and genius. honorable acknowledgement. .

Sorry, something stinks about this interview. What I know to be true is that every family has a scapegoat. We obviously dont know what the actual issues are but Kirk made it seem like there is an underlying "problem" with his son that is independent from the family system. I dont like that.

So her body language is saying she’s acting. 2. Tammy is sitting taller than Kirk to make Kirk look like he’s the victim. That’s a no no move. 3. When Hall asked him do you respect Kerrion he said “Yes but he’s not my equal”. 4. The fact he did this in 48 hours says he’s guilty. Good observation! What caught my attention is when Tamron asked "How did you learn the video had been posted," Kirk never answered the question. He gave us a long answer. Not to mention, he dropped names of folks (the person who was laughing in the background). To me that was to take some of the focus off him. I could be wrong though. And actually, his first video was a few hours after the incident.

How is he spreading the word of gospel and this is how he talks at home the only reason he is apologizing is because it is now public if it would’ve stayed between him and his son he would have never even thought about apologizing he’s only apologizing to keep his fan base.

Parents should only be respected when they are mutually showing respect to their children, especially their adult children...PERIOD. People love referencing Bible verses when it comes to how children should honor and obey their parents, but completely ignore the verse that states specifically, "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger." Respect is a two-way street, and FAR TOO MANY parents think that they are entitled to their child's respect even when they are not reciprocating respect themselves.
And here goes the picking and choosing. Folks love to bring up the honor thy mother and father scripture, but conveniently skip the part that comes immediately after - which commands parents (fathers specifically) to properly guide, educate, and not anger their children. It also says in the bible for parents to not provoke a child to anger or wrath so it goes both ways. Children obey ur parents but parents do not lead ur child to wrath and anger.

Sorry, something stinks about this interview. What I know to be true is that every family has a scapegoat. We obviously dont know what the actual issues are but Kirk made it seem like there is an underlying "problem" with his son that is independent from the family system. I dont like that.

Parents should only be respected when they are mutually showing respect to their children, especially their adult children...PERIOD. People love referencing Bible verses when it comes to how children should honor and obey their parents, but completely ignore the verse that states specifically, "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger." Respect is a two-way street, and FAR TOO MANY parents think that they are entitled to their child's respect even when they are not reciprocating respect themselves.

I can see if he was just getting loud with his son over a heated argument which happens alot with parent and child fued but he was in rage and cursing up a storm. There always two sides to a story !No one knows the full story of why kerrion and his father don’t have a good relationship but they each have their own story to tell. Obviously there’s deep rooted issues that I’m sure both parties played a part in,in creating this toxic relationship.it’s not all on Kirk and it’s not all on kerrion. Sad part is most ppl only care to look at the fathers point of view without realizing that It must hurt like hell to hear your parent tell you they will “break your neck “ and it probably not the first time he’s spoked to him like that . parents get away with so much verbal and also physical abuse just because they “gave you life” .just remember respect goes both ways !
