Wholeheartedly disagree! I have children and I have poured into them the Word of God. The seed has been planted and the Gospel proclaimed to them. Should they go out and fail, my life's success will not be dependent on them, but by my faith in Christ.
If Christ has washed you clean from the guilt of your sin, how is your life an L if your child isn't worldly successful? I'm free in Him, and I hope my children heed the gospel call, but should they reject it, I'm still going to the Father when I leave this earth.

That is what it means to be a mature Human Beings and a real man to have love in your heart and not imposing your insecurities upon your children by rejecting them and judging them for who they are and trying to change them because you feel intimidated by their sexuality. Just can't imagine parents who reject their chidlren because of their sexual preferecne. It is unimaginiable, and that type of judgment, in my mind, comes from a deep sickness of unresolved trauma around their own sexuality and guilt based on their religious upbringing and other tramatic experiencles,

What I like about this interview is that the host is letting the guest talk
Parenting does not come with a manual. I have flown off the deep end too and later felt bad about it. It’s just one of those things you try but then it gets difficult and you don’t take the best approach. I fully understand.
If you’re a believer then this is not Biblical advice. This is worldy advice, loving his son no matter who he loves. Gods word reminds us that nor sinners , adulterers, homosexuals etc will not inherit the kingdom of God. So loving a child’s Sin will send both of them to Hell

We started losing our way and destroying ourselves the very moment we decided to be the "best of ourselves" instead of striving to be like Jesus. The Christian fight is the lifelong fight to be like Christ - He is the standard. This Americanized Gospel where there's emphasis on 'our weaknesses' coupled with a desire to be the best of 'ourselves' replaces Jesus as the standard that the bible wants us to be.

As believers We cannot put our family idols or anyone over the relationship that we have over God. The son is a grown man and the number one thing that Kirk has to do is continue praying for him and strengthen his relationship with God. That’s the main requirement at this point
Kirk never said his son is above his relationship with God. He simply feels his son’s success is more important to him than his own. God himself allowed his son to be murdered so his earthly children could win.

I believe that even includes his son even seeing God for who he is and if kirk is not able to do that for his son, then all in his life is a L. But that's not worldly but spiritual. Even Jesus told Pilate that his kingdom was NOT of this world. Before assuming what is meant concerning God, it's a must to ask for discernment. That's why God instructed us "to learn not on your own understanding!"

Well if he doesn’t want judged then he needs to stop showing up every six months doing interviews. Nobody cares what he’s doing. People forget the existence until he comes back out with the video or gyrating on stage or Twerking all on the Clark sisters, or cursing, etc . If he would just go out there and be with the world that he loves, then nobody would say a word. I love Kirk’s response. If his son fails…I fail. Love it
No disrespect. I’ve seen Cam do good interviews. But I didn’t know he was capable of a conversation this good ON CAMERA. Kirk, acknowledges the pressure his fame and success brings his children. But Kirk overcame family pressure in that other way - neglect and low expectations. He also deals with the most judgmental people and has learned to face down the pressure the church applies. Oh, and he has the pressures every business owner, husband, father and faith leader has - the pressure that comes when a few dozen people depend on your success because it pays their mortgages, rent, food, etc.

It's great that Kirk Franklin was transparent about his shortcomings as a father and expressed his love for his son no matter what. No one is perfect, and we all have fallen short. However, what I did not hear from someone with such a huge platform and person of great influence among Christians, in this particular segment, was his lack of expressing any kind of repentance. What about the scripture Roman's Chapter 1 verses 27-28? The Bible is very clear about this. Praying for him and his family. ❤

Even if what you said is true...there will come a day when you exit this earth and your earthly body, and you will stand before your Eternal Judge and give an account of your life. The fact that they were cussing and stealing in that church will mean nothing. A lot of kirk success is why I stopped following him! Because it glorifies him and his life... humble is the way of the Lord, and his success requires loudness to stay relevant. Bold yes, not loud... world scene of loud to be seen...
I pray kirk finds the revival he needs to seek kingdom only and our God of hosts forgiveness and not that of men first.
