That Guy There are worse actors in Hollywood getting lead roles. He would have done fine, But The room popularity got him. People couldn't picture him outside that
Greg's a pretty great actor, he did such a great job for Retro Puppet Master he even beat out James Franco for the lead. He said in the book that he mailed it in for The Room because he only did it for the money and assumed it would never actually get made like most of the people on the set.
It's kind of sad he didn't blow up as an actor. He's such a humble, intelligent and nice-seeming guy that even though he's satisfied with his career I still feel like the universe dealt him an injustice. He's also really handsome and not at all a bad actor, so I think he could've legitimately gotten a shot at something big
Devin Reiche Compared to Tommy or in general? In general he's not ”incredibly intelligent". Grounded maybe. Forced to be probably. What choice does he have... Other than live in denial like Tommy does.
"incredibly intelligent"? Please calm down. "Incredibly" means unbelievable. You think Greg is so intelligent that it's beyond belief? You're ridiculous.
A lot of that has to do with Tommy manipulating Greg financially and emotionally. I'm sure he still values Tommy as a friend on a personal level, but I have no doubt that the filming scarred him in some way.
Personally, I feel like the only thing they didn't include in the book that they should have was Greg giving such a good reading of the like "Leave your stupid comments in your pocket" because he was pretending he was looking at Tommy and yelling "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME???"
Greg got to be a part of a cult classic and in part a cult icon. Nobody really remembers or talks about virgin suicides but the room still has sold out viewings with obsessed fans! I'd take the room too
I don't see how girls that weren't allowed outside and got banged by the neighbors kids and then committed suicide has anything to do with feminism? But what do I know I have a penis
In regards to what else could have been included in the movie from the book, I wish the full story of how Greg Sestero got the Mark role was included. Long story short, in the book Sestero talks about how he wasn't always going to be Mark, but in the film it depicts him as being Mark from the beginning of production. Reading about how Tommy eventually got Mark to do the role was one of my favorite parts of the book and I really would have loved to have seen that in the movie. Still loved the movie though.
I'm glad that he feels like it was a privilege to be in such a bad yet hilarious movie and such a bizarre situation. It's like an adventure, the story behind the creation of the movie is a movie itself.
I wasn't talking about his looks. In the book Greg was very reluctant and cynical about the whole thing and it seems like that wasn't highlighted enough in the movie. Oh, well, I guess I'll have to wait to see it for myself.
Who was in the Virgin Suicides again? ;) But seriously, Greg comes across as a genuine human being, and I hope he understands just what a great joy he brought to us all... It's Tommy's Film. And it was Greg's book that brought the film to the masses. An Authentic Synergistic Fate that screams "Only In America"
okay, to be fair, The Virgin Suicides was a little boring. The Room, while obviously a much poorer film, it did hold your attention, if only due to sheer disbelief.
But no one gives a shit about The Virgin Suicides. The Room is still in some theaters. Even after 14 years. It's a bad movie but it's very entertaining.
I think the point he was trying to make was using that movie as an example of excellence to reinforce his statement that he's proud of The Room and wouldn't trade it for anything...
"I think this is exactly where I'm supposed to be."
Owning your past and moving forward. I love it.
Well yeah.... but then he goes on to say that he thinks he would have had a few years of working as an actor. He's a terrible actor.
Decent actor, just had a terrible director.
That's a tough thing to say. Got a little choked up hearing him say that.
Haha! What a story Mark.
*hahaha
James Jackson tell that to me again
James Jackson Anyway, how's your sex life?
Nice, hahahaha
Greg looks more like a real Hollywood actor than Dave Franco
I never understood Dave Franco’s brief time of being sort of famous. He’s faded out and with good reason.
He got more than he invested in. The guy was apart of a mediocre movie that turned platinum and is now reaping the rewards. I say that's a win.
He ain't done yet!
I agree if the movie was close enough to real life perhaps he just didn’t have the courage or knowledge to move forward when he was younger
He's a very bad actor. In Best Friends he acts bad dude. However, I've heard the book is good so I guess he has skills towards writing.
@@vhaleryanadamant1975 Yep he's more wooden than the puppets in 'Retro Puppet Master'
Greg is an incredibly intelligent and grounded man.
Devin Reiche Compared to Tommy or in general? In general he's not ”incredibly intelligent". Grounded maybe. Forced to be probably. What choice does he have... Other than live in denial like Tommy does.
Why do you say he's not intelligent?
Devin Reiche he didnt say he is not intelligent he said he is not incredible intelligent.
"incredibly intelligent"? Please calm down. "Incredibly" means unbelievable. You think Greg is so intelligent that it's beyond belief? You're ridiculous.
Do you have fucking Aspberger's? "What?? You said TAKE a seat!"
The fact that Greg never refers to it as "our movie", but "Tommy's movie" is very telling about how he feels, and continues to feel, about the movie.
A lot of that has to do with Tommy manipulating Greg financially and emotionally. I'm sure he still values Tommy as a friend on a personal level, but I have no doubt that the filming scarred him in some way.
Ohh hai, But how's your sex life?
noge Well it was Tommy's movie technically...he wrote and directed it. Lol
noge tommy did most of it. Hes not distancing but rather respecting it wouldnt of happened without tommy wiseau
What a story, Mark.
If a lot of people loved each other, the world would be a better place to live
Haha, awesome, the Mark Damon bit was my personal favorite laugh from the book.
What a kind soul so happy for his writing success and would love to see him on screen what a heart throb !
Jesus Christ, that's Mark Damon
Personally, I feel like the only thing they didn't include in the book that they should have was Greg giving such a good reading of the like "Leave your stupid comments in your pocket" because he was pretending he was looking at Tommy and yelling "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME???"
His face and voice really reminds me of Matt Hannon (the lead actor of Samurai Cop)
I'm telling these son of a bitches...
Actually, i'm pretty sure Tommy plays some sort of villian in a Samurai Cop mpvie
Yes, he's in Samurai Cop 2 with an epic room trashing scene.
He is damn handsome...
Why don't he just leave his stupid comments in his pocket!?
PianistSamuel it's an underrated quote
Mark Damon
Harry Ballsagna Maaaaaark Daaamoooon!
Greg got to be a part of a cult classic and in part a cult icon. Nobody really remembers or talks about virgin suicides but the room still has sold out viewings with obsessed fans! I'd take the room too
The Virgin Suicides is actually pretty well remembered for a film from 1999.
Chris Evans I remember it being a indie film with Kirsten dunst but it doesn't have a cult following and people aren't raving about it.
Tiocfaidh ár lá it has a cult following for feminism writing, so stfu
KARF FASHION whoa! Whooaaa... just relax and take a midol feminazi.
I don't see how girls that weren't allowed outside and got banged by the neighbors kids and then committed suicide has anything to do with feminism? But what do I know I have a penis

I want a POP tommy wiseau
dave franco looks nothing like greg sestero
Yeah, but it was a family project, so...
Dave looks like a nutsac.
@@Virtual_Vinsanity lmao
Well sometimes people do crazy things
I'm glad that he feels like it was a privilege to be in such a bad yet hilarious movie and such a bizarre situation. It's like an adventure, the story behind the creation of the movie is a movie itself.
You can say THAT again!
I came for the comments. I am not disappointed lol
Oh, hi Mark!
He is so serious.
I feel like Greg's character portrayed by Dave Franco seems insulting.
True
Why? It wasn't done justice? I haven't seen the movie yet, but I kinda got that impression too from recent trailers and uploaded scenes on UA-cam.
Dave does a brilliant job.
Pavao Butigan he looks exactly the same they might as well have had him reprise it
I wasn't talking about his looks. In the book Greg was very reluctant and cynical about the whole thing and it seems like that wasn't highlighted enough in the movie. Oh, well, I guess I'll have to wait to see it for myself.
The book is ten times better than the movie. I was expecting another Ed wood, i was disapointed.
Wtf.
He hasn't changed since the movie. His appearance is literally the same (except the beard)
Greg is the poor mans Owen Wilson.
Nastassia Lol, or that.
Who was in the Virgin Suicides again? ;)
But seriously, Greg comes across as a genuine human being, and I hope he understands just what a great joy he brought to us all...
It's Tommy's Film. And it was Greg's book that brought the film to the masses. An Authentic Synergistic Fate that screams "Only In America"
Myaaark Daaaaymon.
A true film legend!
Greg did well but not in a way he'd intended.
Glad to see the IRS getting involved in filmmaking
instead of writing a book he should have just kept his stupid comments in his pocket ..
lol
Am I the only person who thinks the dude that catches Mark and Lisa looks like Mark Ruffalo?
me too
Cheep cheep cheep cheep
In a minute bitch.
Baby face
i think he auditioned for the Kirsten Dunst 's role in virgin suicides
Surprised no one has asked about his sex life,yet...
Anyway, how is your sex life?
The interviewer should've kept his stupid hands in his pockets
hahahahhahaha. Good call. (I'm the interviewer, I have no idea why I kept doing that).
Mark.
You got Smarter..
Funny he should say that, the film didn't capture the books point at all.
dont stop for the love of christ. go deeper!!!!!!!
Why does this interviewer move and talk like Terentino?
This interviewer needs to stop looking at his questions off screen and pausing halfway through his questions.
Extremely off-putting.
okay, to be fair, The Virgin Suicides was a little boring. The Room, while obviously a much poorer film, it did hold your attention, if only due to sheer disbelief.
That was a pretty stupid statement. The Virgin Suicides was kinda successful and done well critically. Josh Hartnett has done well.
But no one gives a shit about The Virgin Suicides. The Room is still in some theaters. Even after 14 years. It's a bad movie but it's very entertaining.
jerry cruz Lucky number Slevin is pretty good, so is Sin City and Penny Dreadful.
Black Phillip Being in a well received movie is hardly going to hurt your career though
Also Black Hawk Down and 40 days and 40 nights.
I think the point he was trying to make was using that movie as an example of excellence to reinforce his statement that he's proud of The Room and wouldn't trade it for anything...
The Virginia Suicides was terrible.
"Virginia" lol
Wha??? Virgin Suicides was awesome. A way better film than The Room, truly. It was a masterpiece whereas The Room is just super interesting.
Virginia Suicides sounds like much better name to be honest.
You need a lot of Jew...
