I ended up putting my complete air box in my mom’s Dream Cruiser because her’s had no muffler or snorkel and it had holes drilled in the lower box for even more noise... So I have that in my convertible now. For some reason my mom’s car is very loud, I’m thinking someone might have modified the exhaust but it looks factory still.
@@CarswithNash probably has that, 3 inch catless downpipe. I put in a stainless 3 inch system on mine and its loud. Just suttle mods make a big difference. It will never be as quick as my Neon SRT or my Caliber SRT but its got the autostick and the wife drives it mostly. She says I'm too hard on it.
If you really want to hear turbo sounds, get an electronic cut out on your exhaust pipe. Relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Another upgrade that actually pays for itself is a k&N filter. Never buy another one.. I saved the air box thing and installed an " Iceman" cold air intake, and extended it into the fender., where it picks up much cooler air. As a bonus it frees up a huge space in the regime bay
Nice video. I'm wondering if you have ever messed with the climate control cable. The one in particular is the selector switch that changes it from floor to Def.... Etc. The cable bent and wouldn't work correctly. I took cable off and twisted the cable and reattached it. It worked for a few months but the plastic piece the cable attaches to broke. I need to get a different panel now just for that broken piece but wondering how hard it is to change that cable as well.
tweidner1968 Sorry I haven’t had to take a dash apart at all on one of these yet, wish I could help. At some point I wanna buy a cheap PT just to tear down so I can cover the areas I haven’t yet had experience with.
@@wesleymartin6506 the cable is probably bending making it feel spring loaded. The bend in mine became a kink and got to the point it wouldn't work until I unhooked the cable and twisted it and then hooked it back up. It worked until it broke the plastic piece it attaches to.
Averages around 10 to 15 hours to take dash out. Depending on how well things go. If you do go to replace cable, then replace heater core also while you're in there. If you take the center dash piece out, then try changing positions. If the cable bows out you can try securing a number of small zip ties to force the cable into the casing. Try and get some lubrication in there to help. I had to do this on my 05 vert and worked for years after doing it.
Wesley Martin I haven’t heard of that, but it might be something a dealer did, dealer packages can still be very cool, look up “Yenko” Camaro’s & Nova’s, that was a Chevy dealer in the 60’s that became an icon due to a dealer option package.
Yeah matt.more air flow and sounds cooler. Trying this on my 2003 gt.thanks.
Did this last weekend! Thanks its fun.

Matt's Garage ok, also my air box is greased and all dirty with lots of grime in there, is there a way to take the air box out to completely clean it?
Dookie Clown It’s just in rubber grommets, pull straight up and jiggle it a bit.
Matt's Garage ok thank you very much
Does this give more airflow of definitely yes, what I’m asking basically is, are there any benefits to taking the thing out?
I just bought a pt r/t Cruiser.do you know what the r/t stands for.thanks.its a 2006.?

Is that bad for it?
Dookie Clown Not at all.
Matt's Garage ok I mgoing to do it then
Matt's Garage so it doesn’t reduce life spand?
Dookie Clown Nope, it might slightly affect fuel economy, probably in a negative way, but the difference would be very slight.
