  • Same setup and similar conditions (29ºC ambient temp), two months apart between both track days, take it for what it's worth. 1.5 sec difference between these two, which is not totally fair considering AR1 were a 205/225 staggered setup while the NS2R are a 205 square setup. Wheels remained the same, 15x8 for the front and 15x9 for the rears (yes, a 205 on a 9' works, and better than on a narrower wheel).
    specs:
2zz stock engine, lightweight flywheel, baffled sump and 16 row oil cooler.
    c64 with torsen Isd
    jdm ecu (speed limit removed)
    BC Racing RM 8/10k
    OEM front sway, rear deleted
    front control arm poly bushings
    custom rear toe arms
winmax w5 front pads, dixcel extra speed rears. motul rbf 700 brake fluid, braided lines.
custom 2.5' exhaust with stc muffler
    konig ultragram, 15x8 205/50 R15 and 15x9 205/50 R15 Nankang NS2-R
    omp bucket seat

Está bom de sal. Qual é a tua recomendação entao? Preciso de trocar os meus 595 rsr.

ns2r are pretty good for the money, depends on what you want. you wanna chase lap times? get something better, but if you want to chase lap times with whatever you got just because its fun then do as i do :)

@@ivan_b28 i'm not a track freak, ocasional trackday but car mostly drives on the road, hence the 595 rsr. I used to run toyos r888 but they were extremely noisy for the road. The toyos were TW100 and the 595s TW160. For me TW 160 its fine.

@@mr2spyderchronicles287 I've the RSRs as well in another set of wheels. I rate the nankangs better, but the federal have made me 8 trackdays and a lot of road kms and still have thread. Insane how these cares are so easy with the tyres

Outright grip and speed is one thing. But which one is more fun and more predictable in your opinion? :)

took a while to get used to ns2r again (the first two 30' sessions out of 5), contrary to what i thought, they felt less predictable than ar1 which doesnt make much sense tbh. once i started understanding them they were a blast, and considering they cost less than a half of ar1 they are an outstanding tire. ar1 handle the heat way better though, but dont last nowhere as long in the long run.

@@vitormvpinto i had them on my e36 and tire wear is pretty low for a semi slick tire (which they barely are btw)
