This is truly one of the best bass lessons you can find on UA-cam! Your YT lessons and intermediate course really took me to another level of conscious bass playing. Thanks for great content Joe!
Another winner, Joe. Your lessons unlock so many great sounds hidden in plain sight. Your insights on musicality and technique are invaluable. Thanks again.
Joe! So much in this lesson beyond just a beautiful line. Enjoying writing out the line and studying the concepts presented. You have hands down the best online bass instruction.
This is excellent as usual Joe! You always really explain so well, and support your assertion so logically, that what we learn makes us better! It makes me want to pick up my bass! Cheers to you from Richmond, Virginia.
I found it easier to play starting on the 2nd 16th.... which made me stop & think...why? Soon figured it out etc etc, thanks Joe! I recently realized how often I'd rest my rh thumb on the D string when playing the G string (& often trip up re execution of lines).... I'm now resting on the A string when playing the D & G string! I thank Rufus Philpot for that insight in a recent video 😊 👍 Really valuable lesson here for me, cheers. Playing it at 50bpm
Thanks for the great exercise Mr Joe, as a beginner I think I spent about 30 minutes on the first minute and a half of the breakdown :) I've managed to play it with the same fingering as you did at 70 and 80 BPM as quarter notes, then at 70 BPM as eight notes. It might be a strange question, but how do I extract the most out of this exercise and apply it further? I've been playing for 7 months now, this is not very challenging to me from technical standpoint, but it helps with interval recognition, fretboard knowledge etc. Are there variations to the exercise that I should try after mastering it? Thank you again.
Want to develop better bass guitar technique? It's not all about the patterns you know :-)

This is a great lesson Joe! Love the focus on inverting intervals...sounds so musical! More of these single chord studies please, and thank you!!
Glad to hear it was helpful Paul.
Very interesting and very helpful.
This is reminiscent of Jaco.
He played in this manner.
Thank you, for all that you share.
@@IvoryMobley You're welcome.
On a side note, no one mentions it, but the 1440p, has really improved the feel of the lessons.. love it.
Great- glad you dig it Marlon!

Excellent as always Joe :) does any of your courses cover this exercise?
Absolutely. Check out my 2-Year Bass Mastery Course!
Wow, technique exercise that's lovely to listen to as music as you're practising.
That starts to open up a whole new world.
Another great lesson Joe, Thanks for you insight
Cheers Rick!
Great stuff, as always Joe. Once again, first class instruction.
Cheers Bazzman!
I love this content, even as a guitarist, his process is great. Joe's content is one of the reasons I sought out Garry Dial for lessons

Apply it to all chord types.
This is way beyond me. Thank you for something inspiring, but I'm not in this league in any way....maybe someday. Thanks again.
