You make by far the best, most informative bass lessons on youtube in my opinion. I struggle on most of your lessons i’ve tried, but that surely means i’m doing something positive for my musical development.
If you think Joe's free lessons are great, please try his paid subscription courses, he has beginner courses and he teaches incrementally and it won't be long before it's not such a struggle anymore. Trust in his processes because you're right, he is by far and away the best bass tutor anywhere. I believe in Joe, please check out his website and sign up, you'll be learning from the best 🎵🎶👍😃
Also the cry me a River lick consists of the notes in this particular scale Descending from the 9 the on the minor 7 chord and from the #9 of the alt. Dominant chord gives you a hip quote ! Dexter Gordon also uses this scale frequently in his solos ! You can hear him playing these ideas on the first chorus of Cheesecake! Great lesson again thank you 🙏
This lesson brought back some memories. I had a Bass Instructor years ago, who had me learn pentatonics, where we would take the diatonic modes and remove the 4 and 7. To create 5 note patterns Doing the 3rds/4ths exercise is great too. Thanks again Joe.
In this lesson, I'm going to show you the power of pentatonic substitutions ala John Coltrane :-)
