@@JohnJBloomfield So then it's obvious that if 5.6 is a sweet spot then 2.8 will be softer than 4 :) there is no perfect lens. Though I've heard that latest Canon lenses are super sharp in that regard.
It's a shame there are no other (decent) reviews about this lens in UA-cam. We pentaxians need more media on the web. Thanks John for the very straightforward review, appreciated.
I really enjoy using it. A solid piece of kit.
Great lens. I've tried it for a few days, rented by local Pentax office.
Heavy beast, but I've enjoyed using it.
Amazing how quickly you get used to the weight when you like the Image Quality

Hi all
Seen this lens at good price, but heard it had a compression issue ! Can anyone advise ? Thanks
If you mean focus breathing...yeah it does on close focus...but so do most modern 70-200 f2.8 to be fair
is a sharpness for yourbcopy at f/4 is noticeably better than f/2.8 when seeing 100%?
Not massively but hitting focus at f2.8 with Pentax AF has never been easy :-)
@@JohnJBloomfield yes absolutely :) but still I wonder
@@lev_anni it's still a pretty sharp lens at f2.8 I think sharpest point was probably f5.6
