The r3 is already what I imagined a VW and Rivian partnership would be, I honestly wouldn’t mind if they just used the same platform and played with some details to make it look more VW and call it a day.
VW styling was always so well balanced and complete.. that is why people bought them. The clean well proportioned designs that are attractive and fresh sophisticated with some fun. Cool cyber noises is the way to go with EVs, cabin switch sounds, maybe a cyber whistle that increases in the cabin with speed that sort of thing.. and crazy designs can still be well balanced and clean
This Rivian is not bad. It is basically a modern Golf Syncro. The VW concept is very interesting! It would make a nice Scirocco, even better with the VR6 engine.
Hello Bembli, could you add a simple outro for your vids? it abruptly ends and I always think the video's loading ( I listen rather than watch sometimes )
VW CEO has already anounced in Austria during the 50 years anniversary event back in January that the GOLF IX will be an EV only plattform and this means 2027 or earlier cause the GOLF VIII has been released october 2019. Before that the biggest milestone will be the entry level car aka ID.2 which should have the size of a Polo which is sizewise comparable to a GOLF V. And that might be the last of the ID family mess cause that will be left behind and future cars will get their product names back too. I doubt that they will be able to adopt rivian architecture that fast and if the car will be delayed big times unless the VW designers and managers get clear limits long before what they can not change any more. Usually those late design changes are killing the production and design quality from the beginning. They simply would have to live with a copy of a rivian architecture and limited to small changes only otherwise the VW rattlesnake would kill the project easily with all its mandatory requirements no one really needs. But we should hear about it soon cause then the developement team and structure would be different than usually which you can hear easily from the workforce at least here.
VW has a multi year mutli billion dollar investment into Rivian, and VW seems to have the bigger return here, Rivian is still losing ~$20k per car sold, the investment just barely keeps them afloat for a few years, while VW gets their electrical architecture and software which will greatly improve their below average EVs
Vw should ask Porsche for cheapest current available motor and put it in the back, while putting electric motor in the front. Now that would be something special.
No, they should put the most powerful available motors and batteries into a polo or sirocco. No upgrades in handling, just a regular polo/sirocco with 800 bhp
8:00 I have to say I very much disagree with your perspective on Hyundai/Kia's take on having fake transmissions in EVs. Despite it not being a genuine, physical transmission, it's a step in the right direction to acknowledge that they can still be fun or engaging. To counter your claim, I ask: What would you suggest they could do to make the cars more engaging or "alive"? Lightweight, loud, and manual transmission has been the standard for a long time for car enthusiasts, sure. Batteries aren't getting lighter anytime soon. EVs don't need to be loud (Ioniq 5N's fake exhaust sounds exist). And a manual? A physical manual trans. would be mechanically lossy and no physical engine to blip is already a "gotcha moment" for enthusiasts to say. Tldr, I don't think it's fair to say engineers and manufacturers aren't trying hard enough or going in the right direction to make EVs engaging. There are many obstacles that make it tougher to produce "fun" EVs. If the opinion to make them better is to just make an ICE car, then it's not a fair opinion.
The R3 looks like a jumped up new style Lada to me... I am happy VW is into Rivian; maybe they can get VW out of the dumpster and give Rivian some production expertise. No way that "GTI" is going anywhere, but I'd be thrilled with a ID2 GTI, especially RWD.
First, forgetaboutit. No concept made by VW has ever looked anything like the production model. Second, VW acquiring defunct car companies is nothing new. That's how it got ahold of Lamborghini, Bentley, and (formally owned) Bugatti. Third, if they're going to design a car from the bottom it should be developed to give us back all the things that were compromised when they created EV from ICE vehicles. I'm referring to space for a real spare tire. I'm also not a fan of the glass roof that doesn't open to vent air. Anyway, they should work on integrating the rear wiper better so that its out of sight when not in use. Don't really like the rear half of the car. Its looks like it was designed in the 1970s. The Rivian looks utilitarian but not very homey. I call them the rental car designs.
That Rivian you are showing is the R3, not R2. The reason for the tail pipes is because that concept is a GTE which is a plug-in hybrid version of the GTI today.
No way that the real upcoming VW Golf will have such cool-looking and sporty look as these sketches.
Those sketches are from the Mark 7 concept car that look already got done
vw id.gti looked like an upcoming vw golf
Unfortunately, you are right
I pray it's real this car is so good looking
Steve O presenting the rivian cars? 😂😂
lol. I thought same
You had me for a quick sec
I definitely checked twice 😂. Steve without the crazy lifestyle
😂😂
The ceo of rivian its identical, but without drugs 😂
I think it may be called "Scirocco" in the USA.
I had completely forgotten about the Scirocco. It's definitely more reminiscent of a Scirocco than a Golf.
The r3 is already what I imagined a VW and Rivian partnership would be, I honestly wouldn’t mind if they just used the same platform and played with some details to make it look more VW and call it a day.
I didn't think that a Golf can look attractive, but that concept is awesome

Some newer VW products look round and bubbly nowadays.
@Stefin770 they are unbalanced now VW designs. I think that matters.
Well... it's basically a new Scirocco
That Golf concept is absolutely STUNNING!
The Rivian looks like an old Golf and a Lada Niva. But it looks good.
this volkswagen prototype is in Gran Turismo 7 under the name of volkswagen vgt btw
This is a scirocco, not a golf.
I'm awaiting your take on the Jaguar Type 00. 🙂
This Rivian is not bad. It is basically a modern Golf Syncro.
The VW concept is very interesting! It would make a nice Scirocco, even better with the VR6 engine.
0:54 looks like the VW Golf GTI W12-650
Hello Bembli, could you add a simple outro for your vids?
it abruptly ends and I always think the video's loading ( I listen rather than watch sometimes )
The rivian looks very good and intetesting , the Golf racer looks crazy good , i d buy it right away , i had 3 Golf GTI s , thanks !!!
okay, finally something cool looking. Proportions remind me a little bit of the FN2 Civic.

The concept look sweeeeeet! 😮
That golf concept is literally just an updated VW vgt
this is interessting! I think VW rivan colab is awesome!
If we get this concept for real, i'm happy.
I bought RIVN at 60, nothing they do could save my opinion of them or Amazon at this point 😂. Certainly not defacing Porsche and Audi too
Excellent. ... looking forward to this ...
very interesting indeed, nice job RIVN + VW
thank you for the correction I would've been confused
now this one is great but i DOUBT it will ever see the production
Been looking for home theatre seating i see
Now THIS is exciting

Looks much more like a scirocco or corrado than a golf, but it is good looking
The R2 is a modern LADA 😂
Thoughts on 00?
Please make a retro electric golf out of Rivian R3
DO THE JAGUAR TYPE 00!

Golf GTE is a hybrid.
If they make a compact truck that's EV would be a good selling truck.
A modern Scirocco

The volkswagen's front looks like a Renault Megane 4

We all want to see your thoughts on the Jag 😂
Hi Bembli, whats yr opinion on the new jaguar type 00? 😁 Can't wait on yr video of that matter.
Isn't that the R3X ? The R2 is more like a family SUV fwiw.
check BE 6E and XEV 9E newly design Indian SUV cars
looks like modern w12 gti
Hmmmmm... They have my attention

VW teaming up with Rivian and Mate Rimac heading Bugatti
looks a bit like a vw sorroco r

Damn VW makes it best looking car and its terrible EV gross
The golf look like Renault 😂
First One
Not interested at all. Electric 👎🏻
grow up
@@yusufcanaktas6929 If growing up means to mindessly eat the electric SUV slop. No thanks.
Too bad it’s electric womp womp
VW should invest more into Rivian, and get Rivian to join the VW Group.
VW put all their bets on China, and lost. They have no money to invest.
