These all turned on Jones when rumors and accusations of violence and sexual predation emerged from the Temple. Jones then went to Guyana with his congregation . The rest of the story is well documented.
I learned about communism in the 1990s in my high school. We read One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, as well as learning about it in history class. We read Pearl S. Buck's The Good Earth, too.
