Nice video! Question, Why use 500v dc instead of 500v ac?

DC will give resistance value whereas AC will result in erroneous values ie impedance which is irrelevant for IR testing.
Impedance = combined resistive value + capacitive + inductive.
Hope this helps.
Earth megger generates AC because DC will create electrolysis in the voltage and current spikes which will result in erroneous values due to electrolysis gas formation.
