@@jeremywestern7067 I personally love it, even more than when I first bought it. I don’t own a car, so this is the most I’ve ever spent on anything other than a mortgage. I don’t regret the decision at all. Not one little bit. I had 1000 reasons not to go to the gym on a busy day, but I don’t waste my time like that anymore when all I have to do is just sit on the bike and go.
EASILY...Best, most fair review I've seen on YT to date. Somehow you are able to be "obsessed" with your Peloton, yet be critical bin all the areas that matter to the owner of such equipment. It was really awesome, great job. I'll be sure to like and share.
My wife and I just ordered our Peloton, can't wait for it to arrive! We've been watching a ton of review videos, this one was great, thank you for a detailed review!
I decided to go with the peloton original this Black Friday 2021. Tbh, I already owned a Garmin watch, and purchased the screen swivel from Amazon. It was was best $600-1000 I’ve ever saved on a bike. Definitely recommend anyone on the fence to go with the original, and use the money you would save on other home fitness equipment!
I agree, I got a used regular bike. I wanted the plus because of the auto feature, but having a few rides in now, the adjustments are just a quick turn and I am already getting the 5 and 10 adjustments down. I thought it would take me out of the workout but it is no biggie at all. Ordered the swivel and good to go...
Purchased the Bike Plus back in June 2021. For the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing pedal crank noise & wobbly handlebar issues. I contacted Peleton tech support, sent them uploaded videos and I was told that replacement parts were going to be ordered and shipped directly to me, a third party vendor is going to contact me to schedule an appointment to replace the parts. Frankly, I didn’t spend nearly $3K for the bike & extended warranty to have a third party vendor come out to troubleshoot. I’m not too happy about that. It makes me feel like PELETON is no different than Nordictrack. So keep that in mind before you spend your hard earned money.
I bought the peleton in 2017 and returned it - I was post partum and wasn't feeling well, lol. I purchased this bike today and I think I'm going to love it, I hope so. Great review :)
Sarah - thank you for a well-constructed video. I really appreciated the way you explained your preference bias towards class-based training whilst delivering your final verdict. Congrats.
This is a great review. I've had the original bike for 3 years and love it. The reason why there are less of the other classes is because Peloton was originally just the bike. They later added the Tread and bootcamp classes and continued to add new features and class types not long before the pandemic started.
Great review from the perspective of a spin class aficionado. Most reviews and comparisons only cover test rides, thanks for waiting a bit before publishing. This isn't the review for hard core cyclists worried about watts or FTP, but for someone wondering what Peloton is about, you answered the questions. BTW, pedals can be replaced, and those thingies on the bottom of your shoes are called cleats. :-)
It’s kind of amazing how many people bought Peloton bikes without ever taking a spin class. Such is the power of spinning + word of mouth. I gained 60 lbs between my last spin class in the health club and buying a Peloton, so I’m still not at the level I once was, but I’m getting better all the time. I love being able to stack classes to customize my rides vs taking 1 longer ride. I also really love the auto resistance feature of bike + (a huge benefit if you have trouble hearing) and also the ability to change the audio levels to hear more instructor or music. Those 2 features completely changed the game for me and why I’ll never go back to the gym.
I know the Peloton comes with clip in pedals ( i forget the style), but you CAN switch them out to SPD style pedals which I think are more widely used. Just in case someone already has SPD clip in spin shoes and don't want to buy knew shoes, you can just swap out the pedals.
Great review Sarah. I purchased the original bike just one year ago and have already completed more than 400 rides. Absolutely love it! Just an FYI though, you can use the bike with sneakers by using the flip side of the peddles. My wife uses it that way and she says it works well. It wouldn’t be great for a real aggressive rider, but for those who are less aggressive, it’s fine.
Great review - thank you! I decided to purchase the cycling shoes separately. That way i could choose what colour I liked (I did check first to make sure the shoes are compatible with Peloton bikes. I already have weights, a yoga mat, and an indoor cycling mat, so i am going to select the bike only package.
Thank you for the detailed review. We are looking to purchase for our daughter an injured athlete - this gave us lots of detail we will most likely be ordering a bike tomorrow!
For the amount of money you pay per month for classes you can join a gym and attend classes while using other equipments. That's crazy, I thought it's added.
Thanks so much for this amazing video!! I tend to get vertigo so the slight moving of the screen would not be good! So much info everything I needed to know!! Thanks again!!
Fellow bike+ owner here! Ours was delivered back in October, so about 2 months in. 100% agree on the motivation of classes and the music. I am super new to fitness, but it was really fun to pick out my next class when i first got the bike and I would actually look forward to classes. I’ve been riding 5-6 times a week since it arrived which is saying a lot from someone who is 30 and never really worked out before. One thing I think is important to callout to potential buyers (that is a common theme in the Facebook group) is the seat pain. The seat pain was REAL my first two weeks. Rides 2-5 were downright almost unbearable. My fiancé didn’t seem to have this problem. Even with a seat cushion and padded shorts, I was still miserable. Positive is- it just takes time, but man can it be rough to start. I now no longer use the seat cushion or shorts (although I expect I might use these for longer rides.) I am just now going to need to contact CS as our seat tends to slide back during rides (vs down), and hope to have a positive experience like you have! Nice review!
Great point! Definitely something everyone should be aware of. Personally I only had mild soreness for maybe 2-3 days when I first started, but I've also heard others have this issue for a longer time period. Thanks for the comment :)
Regarding the clip-in pedals.. assuming Peloton is using industry standing cycling gear you can probably replace the clip-ons with standard cycling pedals. Though the whole point of clips is the additional power you generate with both up & down strokes. In a race bike that translates into speed. But when talking about an exercise bike that translates into cals burned which I'm guessing is why Peloton went with clips.
Great video, I really enjoyed getting a true honest opinion. Just like everything you are going to have your pro and cons. I think you brought to light good solid concerns, but it sounds the pro out weights the cons. Thanks!
Amazing review. I’ve been on the fence and you answered every question I had and even brought up some things I hadn’t considered. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!
Great review! I just purchased this weekend and it's getting delivered tomorrow yay! I looked at a lot of bikes from your basic $800 Schwinn on up to this. I honestly never thought I would spend the money let alone have a monthly cost for the classes but it really was the classes that motivated me to do it. Your review was amazing and gave me insight of what to expect-thanks!
I want it and I think I will love it. I like classes and doing a variety of strength yoga and cardio. I do wish they’d allow access to UA-cam and your own music but I can overcome that. This me be my bday gift to myself or I’ll get my husband to buy for me
A little known feature is that it is possible to watch UA-cam videos from your Peloton Bike (or Bike+, Tread, or Tread+). In fact, you can access any website you want, as there is a full web browser hidden on the screen of the Peloton! ... Type “UA-cam.com” into the address bar, or any other website you want to visit!
I appreciate the tip! I will try that out :) (although I still wish it was integrated with the Just Ride feature so I could still track my miles and performance)
I’ve had the same problem with the seat not staying in place and had to order a replacement sleeve that fits in the seat base. I think the problem is common for people who sweat heavily and the water over time tends to rust the seat height adjustment screw. I now wrap a towel around the seat base to prevent sweat from trickling down the seat stem which seems to have fixed the problem.
to anyone looking at pelelton, consider a proform smart 10, they are about 500 and i think ifit might be better cause you go on real rides it's not just all classes.
I do have to inform people that you DON'T have to have cycle shoes! You can order the "foot cages" from Peloton which allows you or anyone else to ride the bike with standard workout shoes. This is what I have.

Thanks for the review. I’ve been considering making the purchase but haven’t because there’s not a Peloton close to us and I’ve never tried the bike. Great info! Thanks
I purchased a Bike + about a week ago and am waiting for delivery. I'm the kind of guy who was religious about strength training for most of my life. I could NOT bring myself to do any sort of cardio in the gym as it's just too darn boring to me with their options. I'm to the point in my life, early 50's, where I want and need to scale way back on the bulk and size. I used to be very active with bike riding outdoors, but it fell to the way side about 3yrs ago. I want that back in a big way! Enter the Peloton that I researched the heck out of, even going to a physical location to try out and investigate. The entire package is very appealing to me. Now the long wait for delivery. Thanks for the video!
My wife and I hate the classes. When never took classes at the Y. We prefer to watch TV or listen to our own music. I don’t think a Peloton is the wisest choice for us. Think I’m going to buy a Sole instead.
@@ncg89 I think this has to be the biggest scam in sport history but your call and I heard on top of that you have to get a warrant otherwise you will be screwed if it gets broke lol
Really good review; you're spot on about the wait times, they are long--I'm 12 weeks since ordering a Bike+ (delayed twice already), and won't be delivered for another 7 weeks. And a quick review of any social media will see that multiple delays (often without notification from Peloton) is all too common.
I love the classes. I have had a horrible time getting our bike repaired. We had to call several times and it took over a month to get someone to look at the issue. Unfortunately the parts have not shown up. The repair people showed up but couldn't because peloton never sent the parts. It's been 2m and we are still trying to get it fixed. Hopefully they will still repair it after the 12m because it only has worked for 6m.
Great review! Love how you added the time stamps as well. I’m obsessed with my Peloton and like you have reviewed it on my channel! Keep up the good work 🙌
My father has an issue with the shaking screen, so I mounted a screen mount to the wall, and the arm of the mount stretches out to where the screen would normally be.
Thank you for the review, l was looking at the Peloton to buy . You covered most of my questions and as a resultl won't be buying a Peloton. There are loads of free cycling ,fitness videos on UA-cam that we can do.As you connot access these it has helped me make my mind up Thank you for that Mark
Palenton is an exercise bike with a monitor on handlebars with motivational speakers on SD card. Exercise bike from trash a screen from a flea market and DL the videos. And you did palenton. But theres suckers born everyday and use it to hang and air dry delicate wear. Come on now
Good review, I just want to tell you this incase it's a warranty issue for you, but my seat never slips down, and I use my Peloton every day, and I've had it for nearly a year, hope that helps
I have a NordicTrack spin bike and use the Peloton app (I have my bike set up in front of a 27" screen and surround sound), but I have been seriously considering purchasing a Peloton bike. I'm glad I found your video, and will now hold off on buying the bike as I'm not sure the extra expense would be worth it. The app allows me to access live classes and admittedly I can't interact but I'm not sure I need that. Have you ever compared using your bike 'fully interactive' against just using the app? I'd be interested to know your thoughts. Thank you for a great video.
I was going to order one and they don’t ship to my area of Ontario Canada so unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) I’m went the peloton hack way, I should be receiving it this week!
I’m just starting to research Peleton and your video was the first one I watched. Very informative, thank you for such a detailed unbiased review! Would you recommend this for a complete beginner to cycling and working out in general?
A very interesting bike looks beautiful and well made, but the classes would put me off! I just bought a Wattbike Atom and it's fantastic, absolutely love it and I don't have anybody telling me what to do! Thanks for the detailed video, I now know what Peloton is, which UA-cam has been shoving down my throat for a couple of months now. 👍
Great video ... like how the chapters are done. Good sound and picture quality, nicely explained. Thumbs up ... ah and from the shop page you have shown I noticed that the non plus bike in US goes for around 1k9 USD ... in Germany is sells for around 2.150 Euro, wich is around 2k6 USD ... quite a difference if you ask me.
Great review. Just got my Peloton Bike - not Bike+. I've only been on a couple rides but agree that it's totally irritating that you can't exit the class without turning off the screen - I don't mind coming back and starting over - after all it is a class but sometimes you just have to jump off your ride. I would also like to be able to listen to my spotify music or watch a show while just out for a ride which they could do and give you the option of riding through the park or on a hilly ride where your desired cadence and resistance shows on the screen as it does in class - I guess how it would be if you watch tv while riding and turn off the sound.
UPDATE: You can now pause pre-recorded classes on Peloton...finally!
I would pause payment to pelaton... one day you’ll realise what a waste of money it was

I hope you enjoy it once its delivered! Thanks for watching :)
Fantastic review. This was so fair and in depth that it made me feel like I already owned it lol. Thank you so much!
That's awesome to hear! Thanks so much for your comment (it makes my day!) 😊
Ours has just arrived today! Shame you cannot pause the recorded sessions. Looking forward to getting started. Great video!
I hope you love it!
My wife and I hate the classes. When never took classes at the Y. We prefer to watch TV or listen to our own music. I don’t think a Peloton is the wisest choice for us. Think I’m going to buy a Sole instead.
You do know that you don't have to take the classes to make it work, right?
Yes! I’m thinking about getting it. Thinking about whether I like classes or not.
So basically, you buy a $2k bike and then you have to pay a monthly membership?
@@_trust9994 Yeah. If I decide I don't like classes, I won't get it.
@@ncg89 I think this has to be the biggest scam in sport history but your call and I heard on top of that you have to get a warrant otherwise you will be screwed if it gets broke lol
I really enjoy the classes! Personally the membership is worth it to me for the amount of new content they put out all the time
Thank you for the review! In depth and highlighted everything I needed to know.
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful :)
That was a very detailed and impressionable review, Thanks!
Thanks! Glad you thought so 😊
Really good review; you're spot on about the wait times, they are long--I'm 12 weeks since ordering a Bike+ (delayed twice already), and won't be delivered for another 7 weeks. And a quick review of any social media will see that multiple delays (often without notification from Peloton) is all too common.
I ordered December 10th I got it delivered per my delivery request on December 30th.
Oh man! That's a bummer about the repairs. Fingers crossed they can get it resolved for you quickly!
Very thorough. Thanks! I really want to get one of these.
Thanks for the comment! Glad it was helpful 😊
Great review! Love how you added the time stamps as well. I’m obsessed with my Peloton and like you have reviewed it on my channel! Keep up the good work 🙌
Glad you are loving your Peloton too!
That was awesome! Extremely informative.
Thanks Gregory! So glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you for the detailed honest review
Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you for such an in-depth review!
Glad it was helpful!
Very thorough, yet also concise, review. 🤔 👍 I’m not thinking about getting one but considering buying some PLTN stock.
Great detailed video!
My father has an issue with the shaking screen, so I mounted a screen mount to the wall, and the arm of the mount stretches out to where the screen would normally be.
This was one of the most in depth reviews. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you for the review, l was looking at the Peloton to buy . You covered most of my questions and as a resultl won't be buying a Peloton. There are loads of free cycling ,fitness videos on UA-cam that we can do.As you connot access these it has helped me make my mind up Thank you for that Mark
You can get $100 off accessories by using 2B5RV4 when you buy a bike or tread👍🏼
Palenton is an exercise bike with a monitor on handlebars with motivational speakers on SD card. Exercise bike from trash a screen from a flea market and DL the videos. And you did palenton. But theres suckers born everyday and use it to hang and air dry delicate wear. Come on now
Extremely informative and well done.
Thanks for your comment 😊
Good review, I just want to tell you this incase it's a warranty issue for you, but my seat never slips down, and I use my Peloton every day, and I've had it for nearly a year, hope that helps
Thanks! I’ve had someone from peloton look at it, but I might make another request before my first year is up to double check.
Thank you for this review. Very helpful
Thank you, Sarah. Just have to wait for the bike to come to Australia. Coming this year apparently.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully it will get there soon 🙂
I was going to order one and they don’t ship to my area of Ontario Canada so unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) I’m went the peloton hack way, I should be receiving it this week!
Great video! I watched some other reviews but they weren't as informative or interesting. Great job.
I appreciate that! Glad it was helpful 🙂
I’m just starting to research Peleton and your video was the first one I watched. Very informative, thank you for such a detailed unbiased review! Would you recommend this for a complete beginner to cycling and working out in general?
So glad it was helpful! The workouts are challenging, but they can be done at your own pace. I would definitely still recommend for a beginner 😊
Thanks for your comment, David! If you don't like classes, then I agree Peloton would definitely not be a good fit for you.
Thank you! And very interesting to learn about the price differences!
Das Peleton Bike + kostet 2690 Euro, das normale Peleton Bike kostet 2145 €.
This was EXCELLENT. Thank you Sarah
So glad to hear that Christopher! Thanks for watching 😊
@@MissSarahEK just purchased this morning. ,💪🏽💪🏽
I love your video!! I just ordered my plus and it will be here next week!! Do you have any updated opinions or suggestions 3 years later?
How do you like?
@macymiller3417 I love the bike!! Alot of the new features are really impressive to.
Great video, super informative!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and your comment ☺️
@@MissSarahEK I look forward to watching more from your channel, your videos are well done and the cat is super cute!
Appreciate the review- it was helpful! Suggestion for your Peloton mat: get/borrow a heavy-duty exacto-knife and cut it to the size you need/like!
Great Idea, Renée! Fortunately I've moved to a bigger space where I can fit the full mat, but I think that would definitely work for tight spaces!
