Thank you for posting these. I have two microscopes and I used to do some sampling, but had a life 'bump' and quit doing it. This is making me want to get back into it.
your videos are so awesome so informative and so-down- to- earth, but precise as to the articulation of capture and testing. I enjoy immensely continue bravo. ...
We don't need to get sterile. The cleaning is basically to avoid getting sick from our own 'micro-pets'. Regular dish soap + hot water is perfect to remove most organism. If you use a rag or sponge, don't use the one for your regular dish washing to avoid cross contamination. If you deal with biohazard (blood sample, uncooked meat, feces, etc) you can dip your tools, slides, etc in diluted bleach solution for 2 minutes. Just dilute your regular bleach with 1:10 ratio with water. If you are concerned about cutting yourself with cover slide; you can always discard them.
Thx a lot. I got a microscope and wanted to try with differents things like water or my own blood. So i wasn't sure about the cleaning @@alexandrevaliquette3883
Will you please do a SteriPen before and after? You know, those ultraviolet sterilizers? I think it would be very interesting to see a before and after of that one.
Love your videos. Could you do some scopes on expired food. I recently saw a guy taste test some Chunky soup (one can that was 7 weeks old and another that was 7 years old). I would LOVE to see what each looks like under the microscope...you know, for when the zombies attack.
hello.. i just have a suggestion on your next vidoes, could you test chilli as antibacterial if it's really effective please. Because in some parts of asia, chillis are believed to be a good antibacterial as well as it is being added to some fresh seafood salad. Hoping you notice this. Thanks
@closeintel one thing that people debate is if tap water (with chloramine and all the other things mixed in) damage any of the microbes in sourdough starters. These starters have yeast and a ton of other microbes. The yeast don't seem to mind it, but what about the other microbes, some of which have an impact on flavors and other characteristics? The same question exists for people that grow things like vegetables or cannabis in containers. Plant roots team up with microbes to make better use of nutrients, so does tap water kill those microbes? I'd love too see you explore this under the microscope.
Hi! Would you compare the killing power of different brands of soap? Style Theorists did an experiment and said that Dove soap doesn't kill bacteria, but they're not scientists...
I bought my girlfriend an AMSCOPE, I dunno much about it, but it has 3 magnification things (levels, options, ?) Would love a video on how it works and tips on how to get the best visuals.
Hello @closeintel I m fascinated by the microscope world and I would like to know which microscope do you use and how do you film it in the same time. ?
Can you please make a series or collaborate with hair enthusiasts so we can understand our hair better and know which products to use and stay away from?!!!! That would be awesome!
I often have problem with my ink jet printer. Time to time print head need to he cleaned wit solution. I wonder original and non-original ink whether they contains any particles that could block nozzles. Could you show us? And maybe ink need to be prefiltered by 1 micron 15 micron filter or witch ? Hello CloseIntel, I've got a question: is it ok with you if I use the Bleach vs Germs Under Microscope (Cell Melts Away) shorts you uploaded on your channel? I'll use it for a video with some facts about bleach. If yes, I will of course credit you appropriately. Kind regards

I don't have a microscope. I was wondering if a biosand water filter is as good as they claim they are. Like the ones they use in 3rd world countries I'm thinking about making my own are they worth making
Haha, me too. I live in Florida, probably one of the best places to find samples. I just ordered my personal microscope after saving up and hope to start my journey of microscopy
I really hope you do a video one day on anti bacterial dish soap vs regular dish soap. I never know if paying the extra amount of money is worth it or not Maybe you can help @closeintel

I agree. There are a myriad of water filtration and sterilization devices/pills out there! I'm curious to see what really works!
I'm curious if you just mount a cell phone on the microscope to take video or if you have some other set up.
I just use a phone attachment on the eyepieces:)
This is interesting. Thank yoy
Do you have any thoughts on the AmScope B120C-E1 microscope?
