raspberry pi cameras are about as small as the eye piece.and last I checked they had like 8-12mp cameras. Someone smart could make a custom eye piece for the camera and it would be better than these 2mp ones currently on the market.
The waveyness is from rolling shutter. The camera isnt reading the whole frame in one go, its reading it from top to bottom a row of pixels at a time. This means if the camera moves it'll give a bend in the image - same thing happens if you try to take a video of something moving quickly with a cheapish camera.
I watched all three of your buying guide videos and they were of great help, I totally love your presenting style which is clear, light hearted and very informative, so thank you for sharing your knowledge and time. I am a total newbie and bought a digital 7" microscope and no clue where to start as it came with no slides etc. So I'm off to watch some of your other vids, do you have any for 100% novices with digital screens? Thanks once more.
For electronic rework/soldering, you only need 10x-40x magnification... are there any USB based microscopes, true 4k/optical-zoom that you'd recommend? For example, one that can output video 1) wirelessly to a android/monitor receiver (Miracast/Wireless-HDMI) 2) Wired USB to latptop/tablet device 3) Wired HDMI Dual-lens for seeing depth.. and a large Field-of-View would also be nice. Unfortunately, the ones I've seen are very expensive, presumably because they have way too much zoom (130x-180x lens), or come with their own 10" display, or gimic features like remote-control, etc.
Mercari or the local auction site seem to be flooded with old Olympus and Nikon microscopes including lense sets and often even nice wooden boxes. Way under $100 including shipping. Do microscopes go bad with time? Is it risky to buy these 20 or 30 years old models?
Can you buy those terra slides on their own? I'm in Australia and already have my own microscopes, I just want something I can stick soil in and spend hours looking at the critters within.
I would like to get a cheap microscope for home personal use but i don't want to get those nikon or olympus microscope too expensive. I am a haematology medical technologist by training so i want to get a cheaper version microscope that can view peripheral blood smear 40x. And if there is 100x lens would be good. If not it is fine
@@littlehamster83for me I did blood smear for personal use with a trinicular swift microscope (compound light) I forget which model but it’s a good scope
Sir please compare your standard microscope like b120c or sw380t to research 1000 dollar microscope or zeiss one to help us to let know how much picture quality difference it makes
Idk what my highschool had, but they where some awesome optical microscopes! Despite being biological microscopes they did pretty well for looking at silicon dies. Spent quite a few study halls using them and picking out various die art and part numbers. Even estimated the side of some memory blocks! Whatever those things cost, they are worth their weight in gold.
I was offered a biological grade 1600x stereoscopic microscope with an unpopulated camera port, but after reviewing several of the cheaper generic brands available, I settled on using my Galaxy S21 ultra camera attached with an aluminium quick release Arnarkok adapter. Offering me ultra clear 40Mp high definition captures, with all the usual software adjustments and filters included at no extra cost. Why spend serious money on an expensive HD microscope camera, when I already have a versatile multi-lens camera in my pocket. Thanks for the in-depth review. 👍😉
Those toy microscopes really are pretty bad. I have a Chinese Special low end optical microscope and I can _ACTUALLY SEE THINGS!_ It's not all horribly dim!
Phone is way better than average microscope camera. And we already have it. So, instead of buying a bad microscope camera, invest in a proper phone adapter. Thanks me later

Hi there, did you find any in the meantime?

the red/white/black colourful ones are advertised on ebay as electron microscopes
nice
They are electron microscopes. They are optical, using light. They just don't scan electrons.
Excellent video! You have a customer. This is how videos should be done.

Try Umco or Amscope, those are chineese but they can help and are cheaper than Zeiss, Nikon etc

Where did you find 60$ microscope I want it
You should try the xsz-107bn microscope
I have a bebang microscope. Is it good?
yes it's a top brand
You have it.. you tell us...
But to be honest, it's more a toy. No condenser, cheap objective. But it's way better than nothing.
@@alexandrevaliquette3883 it’s pretty good.
@@alexandrevaliquette3883 My Chinese special ain't bad. Wish focusing could be easier at higher magnifications, but it still does the job!
You should try the foldscope
you should make a video on the Laowa Aurogon FF 10-50X NA0.5 Supermicro APO!!!!
Sir microscope name
Could this also be suitable for examining cat hair?
Great! Thank you

Agreed! I highly recommend the Carson Microbrite specifically.
