That moment when you look at your $300+ headphones/iems and still consider buying KZ's budget iems yet again even though you're scared they might outperform your "high end" gear.
the way ive always looked at them is hey if the 300 dollar iems you already have sound worse than KZ then get the KZ and money well spent not a whole lot u can do /shrug
Thanks for putting this video out. I thought the video was convincing enough that I went ahead and bought them right after viewing it. The low price helped with the impulse buy. You were right. These are phenomenal for their price. Very happy with them so far. Keep pumping out the sweet gems!
I used these for over a year a lot until I got the kz ZS10 pros. They are an insane value. Not only do they sound great but they're durable. Still working perfectly.
Wow, better than the 1More Quads? 😮 That's some praise... I just received mine a couple of days ago and only briefly listened to them and was pretty impressed at their detail but found it a little harsh... but I'm thinking it might be the tips... glad you mentioned some alternatives as I'm definitely going to try them.
I am currently waiting for a pair of KZ ZS6. They look the same like KZ ZS5 but they are in an aluminium shell. Can't wait to get them. I own ZS5 too. and I love them.
I've been using mine for a good few months now, definitely solid IEM's, comfort was bad for the first few days, eventually i just got use to them and they're fine now. Comparing them to the KZ-ATE's which i also own, bass quanitity is lesser, but extendes substantially further, these IEM's have solid sub bass unlike the ATE's, doesn't bleed into the mids either, mids are a bit recessed though, treble is obviously much higher reaching, the ATE's treble is incredibly muted (cosy and none fatiguing though), these will sound bright-ish in comparison, decent clarity though Overall, good shit mang, they're nothing unreal like people seem to think, but good.
+Heanly Hyral The ZS5's are better in basically every way apart from comfort imo, that said although they will be uncomfortable at first, if you stick it out eventually the irritation just disappears, they're completely fine for me now i use them daily.
Thanks for the review! I ordered some of these over a month ago from GearBest and never received them. I'm going to try ordering them from AliExpress. I've never had a problem receiving items through Ali.
You should get your hands on a pair of KS6s... they're identical to the ones you said the KS5s are modeled after. Pretty exciting build quality wise, they're only 45ish dollars and they have an actual all aluminum construction that has 3 small screws holding each side together. The other interesting change over the KS5 is they said the small woofers are actually now filtered through air channels to balance the audio even more precisely. OH, and there's small air vents that allow the woofers to breath, so I'm sure the bass will be more impactful. No one has reviews, looks like they've only been shipping from China since about September 10th, so literally no one has them yet.
you hooked me up again dude! your review of monk plus pushed me to buy that earbud, and I am loving it since, though I've more costly earbuds it's my favorite. And now I really wanna buy zs5. ._.
I bought a pair of ZSTs and they are great sound quality wise. The only issue i have is some really bad micro-phonics (aka cable noise) Like really noticeable micro-phonics, especially when moving around erratically (like when working out). I'm hoping its mostly due to the rubbery cable that comes with the IEMs. I have purchased one of the braided silver replacement cables (like 6 bucks on gearbest) and i hope that will reduce the cable noise!
I tend to avoid IEMs but out of necessity I bought a pair of Klipsch S4is a few years ago. I've squeezed them in my pocket between pulling weeds in my yard and mowing grass and they've started show some wear and on rare occasions have some shorting around the 3.5mm plug but usually work great. And the cable is fantastic. Resists getting too knotted up even within my pocket. Would love to know how you feel they compare with these.
Always liked your honest reviews.. keep it up dmstv! Quick question how would this compare to TIANDIRENHE DT86? Im trying to decide which would be a better choice...
I managed to source an old version of them off Ebay! (one BA driver in ear canal) I have to say first i war underwhelmed... with silicone tips: to much bass.. to bright highs. Very V shaped sound but a lot of detail was there. I than removed the standard grills and put a spare sticky acoustic filter from my RE-400 over the nozzle.. that reduced the treble by roughly 3db. Than i tried my arsenal of foam tip. that changed everything! sweet highs and the bass is nicely managed. They are amazing. They can keep up with my RE-400 easily..
Currently listening to this video on my $38 BLON bl-03, which somehow someway, although they aren't quite as detailed, I actually nearly prefer over my Sennheiser 6XX. I must say, there is a new $38 king in town.
the earbuds that came with my phone recently broke, and I've been looking into getting a replacement around this price point for when I'm out and about. As someone who likes music (I use hd600s at home), I want to get something nicer than what I had been using, but since I'm a student, I don't want to spend a lot on them. I was considering these, but then looking at some other reviews, I heard that the revision 2 of them is much worse, and not worth it. Do you have any experience with the revision 2, or have any other suggestions at this price point?
MrKiingpin just got these yesterday. Very impressed. Tried for a few hours and the sound is slightly brighter than normal, but bearable as someone that loves details. Not very fast response though so things like knocking won't come through that well. Bass is very sufficiently boomy and the vocals...THE VOCALS my god.
Campfire Andromeda review sound really cool... When you'll the money and the will to buy these, I'll be here, watching you review a 1k+ iems... That's gonna be interesting... Keep up the good work (Yay, expensive stuff! Any recommendations for Amp and dac for these and other iems?)
woo! I've been trying to reach campfire audio but no luck. I really liked using them with the DFB though they scaled all the way up to the iFi iDSD Black label i've been testing.
DMS3 TV hm. Hope you'll get your answer. Maybe when you'll get bigger in the future... Do you really want try them out with a mobile dac? Desktop stuff always performs better
A guy told me this IEMs are better than any model from Shure SE series, i really don't think this $30 sounds better that a $200 model (SE 315 or better), What do you think about? (I know I have a lot of mistakes but I never took English lessons before)
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE. I'm planning to buy new earphones soon, and tbh the category "budget" to you guys is a luxury to me. So I'm really meticulous on which to buy. I have a few in mind but if you guys would like to suggest other earphones, let it be below $45-50. Soundmagic E10 JBL Synchros S200 KZ ZS5 For me, I prefer some bass to be present but not booming. I'd rather have more trebles, clarity and details over booming bass, but I still want bass to be present. I don't want it to be subtle nor overpowering, just right. Which one of those do you guys think will suit me? KZ ZS5(with mic) is cheaper than the two but comfort issue and the need to change eartips bug me out. What do you guys think? Are there better options I don't know of? Thanks in advance. I have no idea where else to ask for help.
Go with the KZ ZS5. Forget the stock cables, get the KZ silver plated copper cable upgrade (costs around $7 only), and some good foam tips - I'm using Crystalline Audio Crystal Tips. Whatever sound you just described, is what you'll get with these.
Cliff Bryan it won't cost you 50$ getting zs5 with all the upgrade suggested above and you will get what you needed..discomfort will only be for a time..now i feel more comfortable in these than the usual iems i got.
The stock tips on mine were so bad i thought i blew a driver on the left one when i got them, only after i got the complys on them did they sound balanced...
En700Bass wins on comfort, soundstage, impact, cable, and overall build. Very different sound signatures though so its preference on sound. They certainly match up in overall sound quality.
Thanks I think I will give them a try : they are not going to take the place of the Simgot but they sound interesting (and I can find them on Amazon.it for about 35 €) ,, keep up the good work, I appreciate your videos..
I love your reviews but, after buying these I wasn't impressed with the KZ ZS5's. I have my share of cheap (most under 20$) earbuds, and maybe because of that I was expecting something better than my other earbuds in all areas. That just didn't happened. In terms of sound, the trebles are fine but mids leave much to be desired. The low frequencies are also not impressive. And that leaves me confused. You say the mids are rich and present, some people say the bass is overwhelming, when my experience is nothing like that. Overall mine have a very "clear" sound but they miss the "punchyness" of some other earphones (like my cheaper Rock Zirkon or Dzat DF-10). I'm going to give them a shot and try out with some better tips. But I can't recomend them, simply because you won't know what you are getting. Btw could you recommend better earphones around the 50$ price?
Joao Vaz I guess that's what happens when the qc is poor. The performance varies for on some item. The same happened with zst, some people hear different sound sig.
Apples vs oranges. 662 EVO are closed 681 EVO are semi open. I didn't hear 662 Evo but I had 681 Evo and then bought HD330 and immediately throw away HD681 Evo (acually I gave them to my father ). Aaditya Balleda If you want to eliminate microphonics or better looks, I have them. They really are better yhan stock but don't expect nothing in the sound department. Sounds the same.
Mark Rodanilla look at the KZ silver upgrade cable. It’s $11-ish on amazon and it makes a world of difference. Much more clear and separated, without compromising too much bass. Also gets rid of the microphonics. I don’t know about any other custom cables, but I would be inclined to say yes they would make a difference.
Hi can anyone tell me which sound better between fiio x1 and dragon fly (1.5) black? I'm between those 2 for mobile use but have no way of testing them, by the way greetings from Chile
well i got them yesterday and i test them today i listen from metal/electro jpop/kpop i got them 20pounds and 5 pounds the bluetooth extension tell me with that price who can offer you that :o i am gonna try these days with the cable but so far they are good in details the bass is smooth in metal at electro it's good also and i know its just first day and us i know from my other earphones headset you need some days for warm up the speakers for better quality so for small budget they are good :) cheers
John Smith I've had all of those iems you mentioned. I'm leaning towards ZS5 for a more balanced sound. VSD3s is a bit more energetic, my pick for concerts/live. T1-E's more V or U shaped.
recently bought SE846, and sent them back after 1-day sound-test. Way worse than my RHA T10, which bass is just ground-shaking, but one driver is broken now. KZ ZS5 is the next thing I'm gonna try out, instead of new RHA CL1 or Campfire Audio...
4 drivers with no tuning and you say it's good. Sigh, might as well get something with a single driver so sad to see people getting tricked by their marketing scheme.
I say its good because it is. Specs and tuning aside. Now I will say the newest revision is not nearly as good and I retracted my recommendation in my latest video. The revision in this video however its excellent. Keep in mind its also VERY cheap.
DMS3 TV but what if i say one of the balanced armatured produces frequencies for dogs to hear and the other dynamic driver that is placed at the back is producing sound but it's bouncing around in the housing causing phasing problems and the 2nd balanced armature is producing sound but is not able to do so for the wide range of frequency which balanced armature can't do well which left you with only one dynamic driver which is doing a proper job of not screwing up the music that is coming out of the nozzle which a $10 dollar earphone can do better because most of the money on the zs6 is wasted on jamming crap in without doing any work on it. I would like to watch your video but which one is it where you retracted your recommendation?
they dont, my Trinity Masters still hold a sligth edge over them (i just hate wearing them due to the fact they have a sneaker shoe lace instead of a cable) but the fact that one costed me 20 euros and the other costed me 170 does piss me off profoundly, the trinity does not sound 8 times better or 150 euros more expensive.
That moment when you look at your $300+ headphones/iems and still consider buying KZ's budget iems yet again even though you're scared they might outperform your "high end" gear.
that what happens to me now, after I sent back my Shure SE846... they are "shit", after I had RHA T10 with ground-shaking bass, and excellent sound.
I only complain about the build q. if they look and feel very cheap.. anyway, I think 30 bucks is worth to try it... as secondary at least
the way ive always looked at them is hey if the 300 dollar iems you already have sound worse than KZ then get the KZ and money well spent not a whole lot u can do /shrug

Would love for you to review the KZ ZS6's. Similar design but made of metal and apparently higher quality all around.
These really are good. I use them with Comply foams and I removed the memory wire from the cable. Gives much better fit in my view.
please review the zs6!
I've had the ZS5 for just a week. It is astounding.
I used these for over a year a lot until I got the kz ZS10 pros. They are an insane value. Not only do they sound great but they're durable. Still working perfectly.

Yea the tips really make a difference from pair to pair.
they just release newest IEM... check KZ ZS6 improve version of KZ ZS5 and they built with aluminum and stailess steel screw
I am currently waiting for a pair of KZ ZS6. They look the same like KZ ZS5 but they are in an aluminium shell. Can't wait to get them. I own ZS5 too. and I love them.

Zst or zs5? What Better sound?

Hey bud, are you getting the better built zs6?
Would you review them?
Nice video by the way!
Fostex TH-x00 are available on massdrop now . Thought you should know.
you should try the new zs6. the body is alluminium but the drivers are the same.
I tend to avoid IEMs but out of necessity I bought a pair of Klipsch S4is a few years ago. mine will arrive this monday, cant wait to test it...
: )
Hello great review. Is the soundstage on these as good as the VE Monk Plus?
Been waiting for this !!

went the KZ AS-10s with some comply foams. best $60 I ever spent. change my mind.

Hmmm
AntarcticChicken hi
Wooow all the discord members on z review are here lol. I usually goes by the name pimtha there :p
Have you tried the BT cable?
I see the Ifi Micro DSD Black Label there on your desk :-)
Are you going to be posting a review of it?
I sure am!
DMS3 TV Looking forward to it!

The first revision was definitely but the newest revision of the ZS5 is disappointing. Look towards the Final E2000 instead imo.

I already have SE425 but would KZ ZS5 has better sounding? Worth buying or replacing my IEM?
I don't have the SE425 so i can't say.
That's OK. I'll buy and try one.
BTW, good review man!
Thanks for this. Just ordered mine this week from China. Kinda scared that my 1more Triples might get displaced for nearly 1/3 the cost.
Considering only the audio , these or the Simgot EN700 Bass that u reviewed a while back?
This imo. Simgot have very impressive sound stage.
Very different sound sigs. ZS5 for overall sound quality/detail, EN700 for comfort, impact, and soundstage.
Nice intro track bruddah. Big ups!
Could you review the Kinera H3 Triple Driver? I've only read reviews on Amazon. The price point is $99
After one reviewer opened the zs5, it was found to have one none functioning driver inside and missing the tubing.
hi, can you review some budget CIEMS? I saw some great ones that got alot of praise on reddit.
+ Loving your videos!
May I know your verdict on the KZ ZS3 vs the ZS5?
The stock tips on mine were so bad i thought i blew a driver on the left one when i got them, only after i got the complys on them did they sound balanced...
What about comparing them to the En700 Bass (which I own) ? Would this be an acceptable back up pair of IEM ?
En700Bass wins on comfort, soundstage, impact, cable, and overall build. Very different sound signatures though so its preference on sound. They certainly match up in overall sound quality.
Thanks I think I will give them a try : they are not going to take the place of the Simgot but they sound interesting (and I can find them on Amazon.it for about 35 €) ,, keep up the good work, I appreciate your videos..
Good review ! I agree with you
I love your reviews but, after buying these I wasn't impressed with the KZ ZS5's.
As for budget headphone please review Superlux HD330 preferably with Beyerdynamic pads
Also I don't know if you have heard but there is an silver upgrade cable and even a Bluetooth cable/adapter for KZ ZS5 ZS3 and ZST
How to get a pair in us any store??
How about HD662Evo? I hear they are better than Hd681EVO.
Apples vs oranges. 662 EVO are closed 681 EVO are semi open. I didn't hear 662 Evo but I had 681 Evo and then bought HD330 and immediately throw away HD681 Evo (acually I gave them to my father ). HD330 are that much better, but they are 150 Ohm and need good source. They wont shine when powered from integrated sound card. I used them with FiiO E10K.
I've been meaning to cover some superlux stuff for a while. Just been set back because lots of review units are coming in.
honest review
Thanks bro
how does it compare to the OSTRY KC06?
which version did you review? the newer one with both BA drivers in the nozzle or one in the nozzle and one in the back?
katzolik the older one which was much better
Thanks for the reply!
but damn. That pretty much rules them out. Or is there still a chance to get the old version?
katzolik hard to say. At this price i would go with the KZ ZST or KZ ATE.
they are an option. but are they anywhere near the old ZS5?
Is driver is made of plastic or aluminium?
I am using my ks5 while watching this.
Lol, the spiral dots work great with almost everything that has a nozzle
So do you believe these are better than the Massdrop nuforce iem's you reviewed
Dartanyhoun Small actually yes quite a lot, but the nuforce are built better with more accessories.
DMS3 TV Ok. Good to know. Thanks
Dartanyhoun Small Ars you talking about the NuForve EDC?
Jonathan Velazquez yes those are the ones I was referring to
Dartanyhoun Small the EDC's are really bassy, even more than Shure SE215's. Innerfidelity has a measurement of them on his site in the most recent site 'Update'
Ok, three years later the 50-dollar tier of IEMs changed a lot. I wouldn't touch KZ ZS5 or even ZS6 anymore.
Please also tell me about bass. Is bass is powerfull??
I have them, ditched the tips and wires right away. They are great. But ditch the wire it's trash.
i had 1more triple and it was missing somewhere... maybe misplaced. Is this gonna be better replacement?
Ahmad Husaini a whole lot better and way cheaper..you just have bear a bit of discomfort for a while..but the sound on zs5s are amazing..
Bluedose 15k just bought it last night at gearbest. Only $20 including shipping. Will but jvc spiral dot to replace the tips soon! Looking forward
Received today and one word SPECTACULAR ! the separation and soundstage are just unbelievable !
is the silver cable worth buying for these?
A silver cable is never worth buying.
Aaditya Balleda If you want to eliminate microphonics or better looks, I have them. They really are better yhan stock but don't expect nothing in the sound department. Sounds the same.
Will you compare these to the next model the zs6?
any thoughts about the new zs6?
is there any difference in sound quality if you put spc cables on these?
If the stock cable is damaged. Otherwise I haven't tested aftermarket cables with these.
You should try Zishan Z2.
Hi can anyone tell me which sound better between fiio x1 and dragon fly (1.5) black? I'm between those 2 for mobile use but have no way of testing them, by the way greetings from Chile
i want to replace the cable on the ZS5 any recommendation? cable with mic ofcrouse
Just bought these as they are on sale on gearbest, 20% off
hi! please make a review of the Meters Music OV-1 Headphones
well i got them yesterday and i test them today i listen from metal/electro jpop/kpop i got them 20pounds and 5 pounds the bluetooth extension tell me with that price who can offer you that :o i am gonna try these days with the cable but so far they are good in details the bass is smooth in metal at electro it's good also and i know its just first day and us i know from my other earphones headset you need some days for warm up the speakers for better quality so for small budget they are good :) cheers
How about the ZS5 vs VSONIC VSD3S vs TTPOD -T1E
John Smith I've had all of those iems you mentioned. I'm leaning towards ZS5 for a more balanced sound. VSD3s is a bit more energetic, my pick for concerts/live. T1-E's more V or U shaped.
How do the zst compare to these?
How is this compared to the KZ ZST?
More thumpy midbass. Less clarity. ZSTs win out IMO.
Poors Man's Campfire Audio
Different consumer target groups.
recently bought SE846, and sent them back after 1-day sound-test. Way worse than my RHA T10, which bass is just ground-shaking, but one driver is broken now.
KZ ZS5 is the next thing I'm gonna try out, instead of new RHA CL1 or Campfire Audio...
@@KS-kf1me so how was the KZ ZS5 compared to these iems?

I'm using Comply foams T200, apparantly T400 seem to fit as well but I haven't tried. Foams really fit well sonically with the KZ5.
Been asking for this thanks daddy
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Purchased
ZS6?????
Some do New bee Silicone tips for those ZS5s
You should listen to the lg quadbeat 3
This or the final audio e2000?
e2000 for sure
DMS3 TV thank you!!
what's the last song title?
the whole video is a continuous playthrough of "miyamigo embiid" as an album.
Wow, too bad you don't have a slider. Right now would give you a 4/10 but a slider would bring your cinematic quality to 9001/10 ;)
Jared I don't think he'll benefit much in return for his channel size
I seriously hope these doesnt sound better than my 150$ fidue a73.
they dont, my Trinity Masters still hold a sligth edge over them (i just hate wearing them due to the fact they have a sneaker shoe lace instead of a cable) but the fact that one costed me 20 euros and the other costed me 170 does piss me off profoundly, the trinity does not sound 8 times better or 150 euros more expensive.
when you get paid to do reviews LOL
hello :)
hello!
just ordered them for 20€, hopefully they will be worth it :P
is the silver cable worth buying for these?
Only if you have problems with microphonics with the original cable.
so they dont enhance sound quality right?
so they dont enhance sound quality right?
Not in my opinion.
