    Thank you for mentioning the difficulty of getting the wires into the holes. I had the same issue and thought I had a defective pair. I was in the process of returning them. After watching your video, I used my earrings to expand the holes and now the wire fits inside. Thank you for your review.

    Hey, just wanna update, my order of ZS6 arrived today. It's better than the ZS5, but not by much/far. It's a lot more comfortable in the ears tho, far different compared to the ZS5. It stays in my ears without feeling any pressures from sharp edges, like what ZS5 does. It's kinda like the ZS5 is the 'beta version', just to test the waters, and ZS6 is the final product.
    Sound-wise, it's similar to ZS5, but with fuller mid frequencies, and a bit wider soundstage.
    Burn-ins are debatable, even until today. I personally don't believe in burn-ins. But even if, say, burn-ins are true, it only works for drivers with diaphragms, like dynamic and planar drivers. Balanced armatures (which in ZS5's case, handles the mids and highs) don't benefit from burn-ins, coz of the way they work and create sounds (they don't have diaphragms).
    If the highs are too much, you can 'tame' it by using a good foam tip, like comply. Oh and the 'ssssss' sound you were referring to, the technical term for that is 'sibilance' :)

    Im still using my KZ ZS5 after 4years! They are beat up as hell, but still going strong. With quality cable and quality DAP with some EQ they sound incredible.

    I've heard from other reviews the cable and tips that come with the ZS5s are bad, might buy these later but just thought I'd throw that out. Great review btw :)

    Cables: Mine ZS5 came with low volume and poor quality in general, but would sound ok with iPad. Swapped cable by those of a ZS3, quality improved a lot! Will buy silver plated cables one day.

    I had found the same problem with the plug when I first plugged them in. I ended up forcing them and never having the problem again.
    I've had no issue with the fit. A big complaint a lot of people have found discomfort with the geometric edges, but they are honestly amazing fit.

    Have you found any replacements for the ear Inserts for these particular headphones. I recently got these headphones and didn’t have as much trouble putting the cord in as you did. Also for what are use these headphones for the Lowe’s were actually a huge benefit because of me being giging musician.
    I wrote a short article if you want to check it out and let me know what you think

    Great accurate review. Just as I would review these. Bass is on the low side. The 'S's are a bit overemphasized but crisp sounding. You'll need to play with the eq settings to get a balanced sound. Not very comfortable to keep on on the long run. But good value for the price you pay for these.

    Damn you're so soft spoken, it's like this is an ASMR channel lol.
    I'm really interested to see the KS6 reviews, they've been available from say Aliexpress now for about 2 weeks (since it takes 2-6 weeks to arrive to the USA no one has reviewed them yet), but they're a 4 driver unit EXCEPT they have small slots for airflow for the subwoofers, are actually CNC machined aluminum cases, and they are held together with 3 small screws. I'm curious if they'll actually be more durable and feel considerably better than these, or if they'll in fact just be so heavy they're painful or fall out. There are small resonance chambers in the KS6 as well whereas the KS5s are just all open internally, so in the KS6 there's an effort being made to sort of funnel the frequencies to get the sound quality as close to perfect as they can. These improvements have me very curious to know how good they might be.

    • @TechManZ
      @TechManZ  6 років тому

      Hehe. My voicebox is either deep or lacking in highs :).
      I'm curious as well- i'll have to add them to my list. Sounds like a polished upgraded zs5 to me, though, tbh, i'm not too crazy about the metal shells (if they have them, that is.)

    I bought a ZS3 for myself and I also struggled to fit the 2 pin connector to the earphone input. I even used some rubber gloves to try to force the pins in. Now the earphones are connected and are fine and dandy. I just worry for the time these wires break and I might need to go through the same hard process of fitting the new wire back in. You're not alone man

    The bass on these earphones is actually very good (tight and rumbly) but they are very dependant on the tips that you use. Even if you have a good seal, the bass can still be lacking. When you are choosing an ear tip, try to use a pair that keeps the same diameter as the port on the earphone. When my tips had a smaller inner diameter than the port, it seemed to lack bass.The stock silicone tips never really worked well for me.

    I'm sorry, but I'm convinced many of the issues you talk about are specific to you. You complained about the KS6's, which I think are great IEM's (I've got two pairs) and I'm not a treble head at all, in fact I love good low extension. Everything you've said about both IEM's, suggests to me that you either have very non standard ears, or simply not spending enough time getting a good seal. Maybe your ear shape just does not work with IEM's .

    • @Miguel-hr5gl
      @Miguel-hr5gl 6 років тому +1

      5 Red Lights You do realize he specifically stated on the ZS6, along with other reviews he has made, his ears are larger.

    • @Jamic9
      @Jamic9 6 років тому +1

      Good point. So he obviously requires a CIEM solution for his ''unique' ear type. Maybe he should stop reviewing standard IEM's altogether, as I feel he may not be able to give an accurate review, because of his extra large ear canal size.

  • @jetjazz05
    @jetjazz05 6 років тому

    Wow. This Gearbest place... they're taking cheap to the next level lol. Less than $20 for the KS5s... even on Aliexpress they're 36. I don't know if that's because they've seen a spike in popularity or if it's because they're buying in bulk from other Chinese manufacturers and are willing to take less profit than the sellers on Aliexpress or what, but that's a substantial difference and makes the KS5s 1000% best bang for the buck headphones as far as IEM sound quality goes.
