      If you still got the tub, please try filling it up and using Vanish Oxi Action powder.
      Try putting like 3 or 4 packs of it in it and running the tub for an hour and a half or even 2.
      Afterwords when u drain it and refill put some strong coffee machine decal tabs inside. Or 6 bottles of the strongest limestone remover spray you have and repeat.
      After that clean it and run it again with pool chlorine in very high doses, and leave it over nigh filled but without the jets running. Then run them for half an hour the next morning and drain and clean.
      Don’t scrub the mold just do this with the chemicals, I am wondering if that all would remove the mold on its own.
      I scraped my old tub because of that and got one without the jets. But now im wondering about a garden hot tub, but don’t know if it will have the same problems.
      Hope you make another video and show us how its going.

    I soooo need to do this! We have hard water and I have found that Bar Keeper's Friend is an amazing cleaner for those stubborn rust stains in my shower and tubs. This is a very good video. Using a vinegar solution was good to help dissolve hard water deposits, but a second step was needed to get the black mold off. Unless the jets have gaskets or O-rings that are damageable, I would thoroughly rinse the jets after soaking in vinegar and then soak them in a separate bucket with water and laundry bleach. The bleach is corrosive and will dissolve or loosen the black mold. Then rinse thoroughly after cleaning. We use bleach with paper towels soaked with bleach on our white grout lines in our shower to get rid of the black mold. It takes a some of application time, but the white grout lines come out looking like new. It should work the same on the jets.

    A hand held steamer would also be a good tool to use if you have one.

    Once a month I put a dishwashing pod in tub let it sit then run the jets and let sit and rinse

    You needed a small pipe cleaner for the jets instead of the toothbrush. :)

    Wonder why the inlet always yellows. Everyone’s is like that. You’d think by now they’d have a plastic that wouldn’t get yellow like that.

    Just watching this makes me hate having a jet tub!!! Just cleaning this thing could take hours and you don’t kill all bacteria or mold from the inside. Maybe that’s why many people are replacing them with walk in shower

    Your tub and jets look great but that yellow intake cover is a bummer. Google jets or whirlpool replacement parts, find your tub brand and get a white cover. Not expensive and your tub will look new.

      If it’s yellowing from overtime, you can also try putting it in hydrogen peroxide and setting it out in the sun. I know that works on clear plastic, worth a try on the solid stuff :)

    • @reallifewithali
      @reallifewithali  9 місяців тому +1

      Interesting comment. Haha. It’s not from peeing in the tub. It’s just from body oils and soap residue from soaking in the water.

    The tubes need to be scrubbed too. Or replaced. They are all gunky like the jet holes. Yuk

      Sure! This is the exact one that I have: www.ohwill.com/collections/element-selection/products/ohwill-electric-spin-scrubber-cleaning-tool-with-4-replaceable-brush-heads. With that in mind, I would recommend something like this because it has more attachments: amzn.to/3ZBeGsY
