Very nice, patient piece of work. The glass came back beautifully. Your blue color choice was spot on, and your fine-detail painting smoothly and accurately applied. A wonderful transformation!! Well done!❤❤🎉
I remember driving those things - they were comfortable and light to steer, but they never really liked a corner, despite the front wheel drive. Great dashboard though, with the wood and classic Triumph combined-cluster warning lights. Quite a classy little car in the real world. The Toledos and Dollies were rear wheel drive, and the Dolly Sprint was a SAAB engine on its side! You have certainly done that Dinky model justice, Martin, with sensitive restoration decisions and some terrific detailing as usual - an object lesson! I got some sanding sticks from GreenStuffWorld at 800, 1200 and 2000: they are really good, and I did my trusty 1:1 Honda Jazz lights with them too! Happy Birthday: at 66, you are still a boy!
Happy Birthday Martin!!!!🎂🥃& may you have many more & many more restorations to come!, 😆 LOL, a very nice restoration on the triumph, dead on with your choice of blue paint & great detailing👍, take care my friend, looking forward towards your next restoration.👋😎🚙🚒🚗
Great restoration Martin, my ex father in law had two of them, I remember them being very comfortable, you really transformed this one with some superb detailing, great garage shots at the end too! A belated Happy Birthday to you, hope you had a good one!🎉🍾🥂All the best to you and your good lady, Nick🐸🐸
Wish I'd known about sanding sticks a couple of years ago, when I was restoring a Dinky caravan with a LOT of crap on the windows. Got it clean... my left thumb has yet to forgive me. 😂😂 Masterwork, as always! 👏👏👏👏🤌 And A Happy Early Natal Day to you! 🥳🎂🍾
Another quality job Martin, nice engine detail. Colour choice is spot on. Didn’t you hear the shouting “Ultra sonic cleaner!!!!!” when you had a senior moment 😂😂 All the best to you, be happy 😎😎cheers Chris 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Long video? I could watch you for hours, I always learn something. When you opened the lid of that ultrasonic cleaner it sounded like you were frying chips, look forward to your next one.
Another incredible restoration Martin, one of your best I think. I prefer these longer videos when you show more of your work, particularly how you restored the window unit. I passed my driving test in 1975 in my dad's dark brown Triumph 1500, it was a lovely car to drive, and had a wooden dashboard. Sadly it's another British car manufacturer that we've lost. Happy 66th birthday, you're officially now an OAP, you'll be able to claim the state pension? 😂 Looking forward to next week's video, take care and all the best. Peter.
Very nice job on the triumph the colour was very nice . I had a look at the Luke's channel and he is pretty good you got a lovely finish on that transit van he did . Take care Martin
Happy Birthday Mr Martin, happy many returns my old friend. Looks fantastic ,nice details and nice colour .I'm just about to start a Dinky Morris 1100 ,already excited lol
Happy Birthday Martin nice restoration as always . My Mrs didn't have nail board's so I improvised and used valve grinding paste on a piece of denim . I'm not saying it's better but gets the job done 👍
looks nice and shiny again. :) back in my days I often would lift the mushroom's rim with a sharpened screwdriver, and parked it in my finger once or twice... but then there is something to re-flatten again with an old rounded cross-screw driver head. worked out most times. :) with some castings one has to drill them out completely, especially Siku's Porsche 914. took me three tries to find out the rear lid was just too thin, and would warp when you pull on it. anyway, the windscreen reminded me of a car I found at the flea market, it had been painted over with silver paint, and someone washed that off with thinner, and roughened up the window insert's surface. maybe someone had used thinner to rub off some marker painting on the bonnet? the fumes might have gotten to the windscreen. either way, great work on that. :)
Thanks Lothar, the joys of restorations you never know what your going to come up against and then sit and work out how best to solve it ,love it . All the best Martin 👍
Great vid again and happy birthday for the other day, hope you had a great day, when I went in hospital a few weeks ago for a triple by pass I tried to cadge some of the clamps but the nurses wouldn't give me any, still came away with sticky tape, tweezers and syringes and pill cups😂
Thanks John, I hope your recovery is coming along , it's best to ask for the clamps after the opp mate 🤣🤣🤣 wishing you good luck in your recovery all the best Martin 👍
Nice one Martin. Didnt know anyone did this. Very much a smaller version of the Dinky Triumph 2000. Same working parts & screen thickness. On the wipers, many don't have them, so losing them wouldn't be a major disaster, but good to preserve them when they are. Also good how you were able to tighten up the bonnet hinge
Hi Martin nice job I love that colour it looks a bit like the MG colour IRIS blue. That window polishing was impressive it turned out like new well done. So 66 wow you old bugger,👴🏻 your three years older than I am. 👴🏻HAPPY BIRTHDAY mate🎂 I hope the MRS took you out somewhere special to celebrate.🍺🍺 My sister gave me a birthday card this year on the front it said... As we get more and more older the more and more we get confused. I then tried to open the card but I couldn't the card opened the other way around from right to left, then the words were written upside-down and I had to turn it up the other way.😂😂🤣🤣 Catch you on the next one mate.👍🏻

Nice job Martin, and happy birthday mate!
Thanks very much I appreciate it my friend
Nicely done, Martin. That looks really sharp. Those nail boards are great for sanding windscreens. Better than holding a little piece of sandpaper.
Thanks Gerry yes definitely less mess .my friend
Long video? I could watch you for hours, I always learn something. When you opened the lid of that ultrasonic cleaner it sounded like you were frying chips, look forward to your next one.
