What a box of design delights this car is. From chain cutter to rocket launcher via via atomic flame. Corgi must have spent hours designing it. You brought it back from the brink of destruction to looking great.
Thank You. They're all amazing feats of engineering, I've done the Bond Aston and U.N.C.L.E Oldsmobile, and I think the Aston is the trickiest of them to put back together. I'd like to have a go at the Green Hornet car too, but haven't found a suitable i.e. affordable candidate.

Have to say, best restoration of the Bat Mobile I’ve seen yet 👏🏽😄!! Great job 👍🏽! As a kid I had 3 Bat Models and 1 Bat Boat . I wish I would have taken better care of them, not knowing how much they’re worth and sought after today .
Wow, thank you very much! They were toys at the end of the day, and the reason they're so sought after is because people like us had a great time playing with / wrecking them back in the day. Thank you for watching!

very nice! too many parts for me to attempt! should be pretty happy with yourself for that one. my only gripe is im sure you could have squeezed in a few bat jokes in there!
Paul, I edited a whole intro for this video that UA-cam pulled me up for copyright infringement it’s on my Facebook page if you’d like to check it out, it was my joke for this vid, was sad to have to cut it. fb.watch/h9fJBTABRB/?mibextid=qC1gEa
castings like these are genious. genious to invent, genious to put together... you genious, my friend. :D I almost expected you to play the tetris score in the background... of course there would be the danger of everything vanishing when you're done. and yeh, of course it's af-ford-able, it's based on a Ford Founderbird... or something. XD anyway, looks great, better then new, too. too bad to hear about the ill-fitting aerial and spring, such things are always a nuisance, no matter which scale. (like the door handle for my 94 Opel wagon which was so badly made it couldn't be installed... it was cheap, but still.)
Thank you very much. I use a 1.5mm drill bit, an M2 tap for the thread and M2x5mm hex head cap screws. I know it doesn't look 'factory' but if I get it wrong (and I often do 😂) I can just unscrew it and try again. My apologies for the delay in getting an answer to you.
Adult money helps. I think that's why I have a diecast problem now, they were a precious thing when you don't have a lot of money, and now I have adult money, I rarely deny myself. Send Help 😔🤣
Thank you Susan. I got him from RecoverToy on Ebay: www.ebay.com.au/itm/154721645027 I'm not sponsored by them, but Tony is a reliable seller I buy from often. Thank you for watching.
I take a stanley knife and prize the edge of the shaft pole ,its not a rivet ,then gentley prise apart no drilling ,when finished superglue back together with the car looking origanal
Thank you for the tip David. I really should get into using rivets like Martin Dare and Corgi Bob do, I just know if I superglue them together, I'll remember something I forgot to put in and it'll be too late 😂
Hi Ken! Yes, Corgi Bob has a foam stand for his and if I did as many as he does I would definitely do the same. It's a terrific idea, Bob is a legend and I couldn't have finished mine without his video.
You’re most likely right Dave, I was sure I could see remnants of gold on the parts, but I might have imagined it. I definitely think the wheel for the rockets should have been silver though. Thanks for watching and your message.
Good morning again I thank u and corgi Bob for being my teachers, I'd like to send u some pictures but I don't know how? Question I found a 1966 267 corgi batmobile it needs cleaning if I were to open it to paint the parts will it loose its value?
Hi Sergio! Sorry for the late reply, I had a look at your videos and there's NO WAY I'd pull that apart, it looks too nice, too complete and too original. There are ways to clean it, but I'm not the expert at that. I'm in a group called the Diecast and Modellers Community on Facebook, there's a couple of guys on there that are absolute 267 Batmobile experts that could give better advice than me on how to clean one without pulling it apart. If you ever want to send me pics, you can email me at pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com 😊
Hi Tony, I'm always happy to help however usually when I tell folk I'm in Australia, the thought of the postage here and back puts them off 🤣 But if you'd still care to discuss, send me an email at pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com 😊
Hi Nathan, I use M2 x 5mm Hex Socket Button Screws after tapping the posts with a Metric M2 x 0.4 tap. Another advantage over supergluing rivets in is that the cap screws can be easily removed if you ever feel like doing it again one day. I did a ‘how to’ in one of my vids, but I cannot for the life of me remember which one. If I work it out, I’ll let you know 😔 thanks for watching!
@@11x I reckon the later whizwheel version looks bigger because of the larger wheels and how it sits higher, despite being exactly the same casting otherwise, maybe that’s it? Thank you for watching and sorry about the repetitive music 🙂
Thank you very much! I don't use rivets, I use M2x0.4 Metric cap head screws that I tap the post for. That way I can pull them apart if I need to, or when they end up in a box after I'm gone the next restorer can have an easier go at it lol. I should use rivets for authenticity, but I like using the cap screws. Thank you for watching!
Also was wondering what color do you use to paint the corgi batman and Robin figure's? And the bats on the batmobile wheels? Apologies for so many questions.
@@sergioceja8968 not at all happy to be able to help. I specifically used Mr. Hobby Mr. Colour #171 Fluorescent Red for the hubs, I think Tamiya make a similar colour but that’s what I used. Resin molding is a skill I’ve yet to attempt, I’ve started 3D printing other parts (not for the Batmobile) Resin molding looks to be the best way to get an accurate copy. I tried Blue Stuff but it was a disaster.

You done yourself proud PB, wonderful resto..Corgi Bob, what's happened to him?
Thank you very much. I believe Bob’s missus is not well and he’s had to devote his time there of course. I hope he comes back, he’s the Corgi master.
Brilliant! 🖤🦇
Thanks Adam!
Wow great job mate
Thank you very much.
LOVE your channel !!! I was very fortunate to get my Batman mobile at a local yard sale today for .05 cents !! It needs two tires....other than that it's in great shape. Where can I buy tires fir it? Thanks enjoyed the video , true work of art.
Thank you, that’s the bargain of the century. I got the tyres from RecoverToy, they have a webpage, but sell on eBay too: www.ebay.com.au/itm/362426984341?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=jkqHp1vVTJm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Hso4VjAVSlq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@PBsRetroRestorations Thanks so much...I'm going to buy a whole set.
Agree it was a great find I picked up a handful of other vehicles and tow truck , and an assortment of other vehicles.
Nice job. I restore these as well and I am getting ready to do another one and I will do a video of this one. Just subbed your channel.
Thank you, this was my first go at one, I'm not sure I'll do another one but I've ended up with quite a few spares, so maybe. Thank you very much for subscribing, really appreciate it.
very nice! too many parts for me to attempt! should be pretty happy with yourself for that one. my only gripe is im sure you could have squeezed in a few bat jokes in there!
Paul, I edited a whole intro for this video that UA-cam pulled me up for copyright infringement it’s on my Facebook page if you’d like to check it out, it was my joke for this vid, was sad to have to cut it.

@@PBsRetroRestorations I will definitely check it out on the old Facebook!
castings like these are genious. genious to invent, genious to put together... you genious, my friend. :D I almost expected you to play the tetris score in the background... of course there would be the danger of everything vanishing when you're done.
and yeh, of course it's af-ford-able, it's based on a Ford Founderbird... or something. XD
anyway, looks great, better then new, too. too bad to hear about the ill-fitting aerial and spring, such things are always a nuisance, no matter which scale. (like the door handle for my 94 Opel wagon which was so badly made it couldn't be installed... it was cheap, but still.)
I know it’s a limited market, but if ya gonna charge $5 for a teeny plastic aerial, at least make it good lol.
@@PBsRetroRestorations Right? It's not like the buyers have alternatives, but if your quality doesn't fit the 5$, there soon will be one...
Beautiful 😍
Thank you Carlos!
still got my original in my loft wrapped in bubblewrap plus original figues from 1966
They are a wonderful toy, you're lucky to still have yours, they can be expensive to buy and repair. Thank you for watching.
Excellent job. What size drill bit do you use for the screws?
Thank you very much. I use a 1.5mm drill bit, an M2 tap for the thread and M2x5mm hex head cap screws. I know it doesn't look 'factory' but if I get it wrong (and I often do 😂) I can just unscrew it and try again. My apologies for the delay in getting an answer to you.
My favorite car 1966 Batmobile
Hi Jose. definitely my favourite Batmobile. Thank you for watching.
I paid £120 for a mint first edition, I always wanted one as a kid, I still am but with adult money😁
Adult money helps. I think that's why I have a diecast problem now, they were a precious thing when you don't have a lot of money, and now I have adult money, I rarely deny myself. Send Help 😔🤣
Nice!
Thank you!
Wonderful..where did you get the Robin figurine? I've got a AWOL Robin problem but a present Batman, as you enumerate.
Thank you Susan. I got him from RecoverToy on Ebay: www.ebay.com.au/itm/154721645027
I'm not sponsored by them, but Tony is a reliable seller I buy from often. Thank you for watching.
Battastic 😎
Thank you very much Batt, I mean Matt 😉
@@PBsRetroRestorations 🤣
I take a stanley knife and prize the edge of the shaft pole ,its not a rivet ,then gentley prise apart no drilling ,when finished superglue back together with the car looking origanal
Thank you for the tip David. I really should get into using rivets like Martin Dare and Corgi Bob do, I just know if I superglue them together, I'll remember something I forgot to put in and it'll be too late 😂
someone had a foam block that was cut out and held the car while assembling,,, looked like a good idea
Hi Ken! Yes, Corgi Bob has a foam stand for his and if I did as many as he does I would definitely do the same. It's a terrific idea, Bob is a legend and I couldn't have finished mine without his video.
I could be wrong but I thought the bits you painted gold barring from the wheels were silver on the early version
You’re most likely right Dave, I was sure I could see remnants of gold on the parts, but I might have imagined it. I definitely think the wheel for the rockets should have been silver though. Thanks for watching and your message.
@@PBsRetroRestorations no worries kid. Enjoy the videos 😎👍
@@PBsRetroRestorations hey captain 😃 happy new year been trying to email you with some pictures but its hasn't gone through, I'll keep trying.
im wondering do you do restorations of other peoples batmobiles as i would love a custom with whizz wheels on the original batmobile
Hi Tony, I'm always happy to help however usually when I tell folk I'm in Australia, the thought of the postage here and back puts them off 🤣 But if you'd still care to discuss, send me an email at pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com 😊
Hi PB I’d like to have a Batmobile windshield replaced and an Aston Martin DB 5 restored
Hi Lewis, if you’d like to send me an email to pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com we can have a chat about it, thanks 😊
@@PBsRetroRestorations I sent you an email and it got kicked back
@@lewislevine9678 that’s weird, I don’t know why its done that, just double check:
pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com, failing that, plashdaddy@gmail.com
@@PBsRetroRestorations I resent it through gmail, hopefully you received it
Yep got it now mate, will be in touch shortly 🙂
Hi can you pls tell me what screws you used to put it back together? I’d rather what you used than the rivets.
I had this car & boat…I thought it was bigger, maybe I was just smaller.
@@11x I reckon the later whizwheel version looks bigger because of the larger wheels and how it sits higher, despite being exactly the same casting otherwise, maybe that’s it? Thank you for watching and sorry about the repetitive music 🙂
Awesome work, was wondering where did you buy the ribits for the bottom of the car?
Thank you very much! I don't use rivets, I use M2x0.4 Metric cap head screws that I tap the post for. That way I can pull them apart if I need to, or when they end up in a box after I'm gone the next restorer can have an easier go at it lol. I should use rivets for authenticity, but I like using the cap screws. Thank you for watching!
@@PBsRetroRestorations thank you so much for your response keep up the great work.
I am not the best figure painter, so I cheated there and bought them pre-painted from RecoverToy here in Australia: www.ebay.com.au/itm/154721645027?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=jkqHp1vVTJm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Hso4VjAVSlq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@PBsRetroRestorations Again ty so very much, I will send you a before and after picture of my batmobile when I get all the parts I need. Again ty.
Only Batman you get a good job on that on the Batmobile😅
Thank You Alton!
As soon as I heard you say crack a lackin, I knew you were an Aussie. Lol. Whereabouts in Australia are you from? I'm from Townsville.
Yeah, I said it once in a video and it’s stuck now lol. I’m in Brisbane.
i did one of these some time ago, only took me a week! great result though (-;
Thank you Steve! I was lucky to have a spare part car from Neil and Corgi Bob's how-to video, it's a toughy but I reckon the Bond Aston is a >touch< fiddlier.
Holly smoking tires Batman!
Thank you Yannick!
When I restore these, I make my own parts with molds and resin.
Resin molding is a skill I’ve yet to attempt, I’ve started 3D printing other parts (not for the Batmobile) Resin molding looks to be the best way to get an accurate copy. I tried Blue Stuff but it was a disaster.

Hi Phil, Shane doesn't have a website as far as I know. If you have a look at the Diecast & Modelers Community group on Facebook, you can find him on there. He's based in Australia also.
I uploaded some videos of the 66 batmobile
