I had this model as a Dinky 'Action Kit' - all the bits, and you made, and painted it yourself. Different wheels, though, I seem to remember. Lovely motor in real life - a bloke down my road had a grey one. Of course, made famous by 'The Saint', as played by Roger Moore, and I'm the proud owner of the Corgi model. At the time Volvo was a rather niche import to the UK. The massive success of 'The Saint', soon sorted that out. Another 100%er! Looks great, and those gold wheels set off the red a treat. Nice one.
Knew you do a good job on that Rob. Got worried when I saw the wheel but hopefully she rolls better now, certainly seemed to on the turntable at the end. Thumbs up mate
Nice job Rob. Always associated that volvo p180 with Simon temple in the Saint, played by the late Roger moor. Would have been nice in white with the reg st1, great job anyway, my favourite volvo and does look the best volvo ever. 👍🏻
Lovely job as ever (and finally a use for those horrible Yesteryears). A couple of things that might help you out in future - there's a glue called Krystal Klear that's perfect for fixing broken glazing as it dries perfectly clear and doesn't cause hazing like superglue. Also you can buy rhinestones off eBay in loads of sizes really cheaply that are perfect to replace those Dinky headlights
Nice 1800s I still think the 960 estate is the most beautiful Volvo ever! But I am bias! .... Looks out the window at the 1995 Volvo 960 with 3ltr 24v Straight Six Engine sitting on my drive.. with iconic wipers for the headlights :)
Nice work. Speaking from experience with your paint, you are right in saying white spirit / turps retards drying times & that can be useful on full sized commercials. If you want your paint to harden faster use petrol instead. You will find it goes off much faster. Its how we used to do things in the winter months. Hope this helps.
The Yesteryear wheels look great. Just the right amount of gold.
Great to see you back Rob. Better and better.
All the best
Dad
What a great comment to see! Fully agree Mr. M! :-)
The 1800 is a favorite of mine and you did it up just right !

Fantastic work! Those Yesteryear wheels are a surprisingly awesome sub. So cool.
Knew you do a good job on that Rob. Got worried when I saw the wheel but hopefully she rolls better now, certainly seemed to on the turntable at the end. Thumbs up mate

Really a superb job.

Beautiful job
Great job Rob, the red paint with gold wheels is a classic Lotus colour scheme, even though it's a Volvo it still works well.
Love the new red paint on Volvo 1800S
Magnificent. Very well done, Rob😍
I really liked this restoration, you did a good job 👍
Very nice Rob. 👍🏻
Very Beautiful Volvo - cool car! Like! Nice

You can't beat an Estate (or Wagon in the US) for design purity!!
Nice job sir 👍
Nice job bro 👍😎
Absolutely perfect beautiful
The P1800 is a classic, whereas the Pacer is a hunk of 1970's Detroit junk, only a viable subject if you're a _Wayne's World_ fan. Good choice!!!
Good job rob very good. 👍👍👍
looking forward for the Pacer :-)
You note you'd like one of these in real life. I can say they are a tight fit getting in but seem to be comfortable inside.
Nicly done. Volvos are the best 😉
Gorgeous!!
Nice resto :) The wheels fit well and seem to be taken from the Matchbox MOY range? Cool creativity 🥰

Thanks for the tip
Don't forget to lubricate your piece before tapping holes. Your Dinky will appreciate it.
Looks good
Red looks good on her, but I would have done an ivory white w/red accents (The Saint). great job still. love it.
Nice model car volvo 1800s nice restoration. 100 percent. That's a swedish car 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
The wheels were a happy accident, in my opinion. Good stuff, Rob.
100% PAINT REMOVAL - WOOHOO!! 👍😁
She buffed up nicely Rob. Did you sand the suspension piece or was that just the caustic soda that cleaned it up?
That was steel brushed after caustic soda
@@MatchboxGarage OJ. It looked pretty good when it came out the jar.👍
100% paint removal!
Looks like a 100% paint removal to me !!
