    Luckily here in Aus, one retailer was offering 22% off an already discounted price on these, if you bought a brand matched sound bar. It was a no brainer to buy a $199 LG sound bar to get the ~$850 discount on the panel and even that entry level bar sounds 100x better than the internal speakers!!

    I work in a electronics store, and recently we have put on the shelf a 55g3. And I've compared it to C3 and C2 that were in left and right of that G3, and man, I've felt like the C3 and C2 were turned off (that's an overexaggeration, though the difference betwee G3 and the other 2 was big). This seems to be one of the best TVs I've ever played with.

      Should I go with G3? Was thinking of saving some bucks by purchasing C3. Is it worth the extra for G3?

    • @MirelRC
      @MirelRC 8 місяців тому +1

      @@tardepralhad for HDR, the G3 is incredible. A good TV for any type of room. C3 is good too, but it can stretch its legs in a dark room.
      You should also take into consideration that G3 has:
      - better viewing angles for certain colors, thanks to MLA
      - aluminum heatsink
      - 5 yrs panel warranty.
      - better efficiency, thanks to MLA
      - if you want to put the TV on the wall, G3 comes with a wall mount, but no table stand
      - around 1400 nits peak brightness (in HDR)
      If you go with C3:
      - It has the same Alpha 9 Gen6
      - It can reach around 800+ nits peak brightness (in HDR)
      - its sound system is a bit better than the G3
      - also you could get the C3 + a nice soundbar with rear speakers to have a better cinematic experience
      If you can't get the G3 + a soundbar with rear speakers, go with the C3. If it is your first OLED, it will be already a nice upgrade.

      I haven't seen these tv live. I'm writing about c3 and g3. But in one yt video I saw a difference in color in favor of c3. In g3, due to the high brightness, the colors were less saturated and faded. There was more depth in c3. Maybe this could be set up in g3 but it looked worse. Someone also noticed it and wrote about it underneath in the comments.

    i do love everything about the G3 except the fact that its still 'just' 120hz.
    now i know, for console gamer ears thats a ridiculous thing to say, but as a pc gamer i've been on over 100hz gaming for the last 6 years and the 9 series LGs from 2019 already offered 4k@120hz, so one might think it's time to push that Hz a little bit higher, since LG also partners with NVIDIA to make that gsync work, which is a specific PC gaming feature.
    so yeah, i would love to upgrade my LG C9 from 2019 but i need to see more than just brightness increases.

    OLEDs shouldn’t be exposed to static elements, like taskbars that don’t move or auto-hide or windows that are left open, for hours at a time. This increases the risk of screen burn-in, and long shifts of desktop work with mostly-static content may not be ideal for an OLED display.

    • @bassimos4401
      @bassimos4401 9 місяців тому

      i got the g3 65 inch and it got some tech to prevent burn in like pixel refresher after each shut down and also slightly moving the image (what the user wont notice at all). sure you shouldnt use the same static image hours but its not that big deal anymore like years ago imo.

    Hey Midas, love the video I had a couple of technical questions for you. Firstly in the wide shots where you are recording yourself and the tv, are you using auto or manual focus. Because all detail is retained of you and the tv are retained very well, without it doing the auto refocus again and again. Secondly this is more of a copyright question, I see that you have clips from movies and tv shows, do you know the hard limit for seconds shown without getting flagged. Again amazing video and love the channel, hope your able to answer my questions 🙂.

    Nice review. But if this unit is 70% they claim is better than the G2 or C2, Well I purchased the G3 and took it home for a few days and compared it to my C2. In the proper settings, el natural there was very little difference, HDR brightness was scene dependent. Must use a good soundbar with this set, only sets where you could get by are the Sony 95K or A80K, they kill the LG TVs. G3 is a good TV, but it's not worth the step up if you already own the G2 or even the C2, now the G3 is a great TV so if you are looking for a new TV go for it, but the C3 will be 95% of the G3 and you save some money. Of course, Sony will be coming out with their new units with their killer processing, so hold off till Sony's hit the market so at this price range you will have a choice.

    Which backlight setup do you use in back of the TV. I'm since over 7 years on Philips side, just due to the Ambilight Fact. But now seeing the backlight chaining on the G3 I'm wondering which setup do you use. This could consider a change for me ;-)

    • @techbymidas
      @techbymidas  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! They're both great but they use different OLED panels. The G3 uses LGs WOLED which is better for resisting burn in while the A95L uses a QD-OLED panel which means better image quality because of the Quantum Dot tech. They're both very bright and amazing TVs :)

  • @diegomarche
    @diegomarche 11 місяців тому +3

    Actually the 70% increase of brightness claim by LG is compared to the oled panel of the previous generation, before the Oled EVO came with the G1 model.
    Always read the asterisk fine print 😊

      The point is that it is noticeably brighter than previous model OLED displays.
