I really don't understand why all, but all, choose Warm 50 level, as long as, this setup gives a general yellowish color. I look around me, I look outside, on street, in nature, but I don't see the things being such yellowish as they are on the Tv screen with this "Warm 50" setted.
You’re just used to cool monitors making white look blue. Hold a sheet of printer paper next to the screen on a 100% white screen. They should be the same color, the display should not be bluer than the sheet of paper Once you use warm 50 for a few days you won’t be able to go back. White is its own LED on LG WRGB displays. The blue pixel should not be activated at all, which it is if you don’t use warm 50.

I'm very skilled when it comes to calibrating the picture because I'm very passionate about it.....but I must say thank you because I didn't realize you could make a game mode out of any available picture preset and that is a game changer .....yes the input lag is gonna be increased a little bit but you're ending up with a much better picture quality than in the standard game mode picture preset.....thx again.....I actually did that on my Hisense tv since you can literally make a game mode out of any pictures preset but I didn't know you could do it on the LG g4
Thank you for all the configuration. I just bought a LG C4 TV and it's really helpful to have the best configuration. Just a question in your excel file, why did you choose WARM 50? I find the white a little bit orange or yellow with this configuration and too warm. I reduce it at 30 for my part. But thank you again! 😊
Thank you for this great video!i have only one question how to separate different image preferences (sdr, dolby vision) for netflix, disney plus etc if all apps share the same input?when i change for example the settings for netflix and then i want to set up disney plus they share the same image settings
@@techoptimized thanks! in your opinion, do you believe burn-in is possible with SDR /PC input at 85 pixel brightness and all protection features turned off when working daily on dark mode in in Windows on all productivity programs (browser, mail, word etc) or best is to drop the pixel brightness to 50 in that case?
Great content!! One quick question. For the input I use a miniPC (Linux) for gaming and streaming movies from a browser, what settings should I use? I miss Trumotion for instance, it's grayed out and I think it would be nice when watching movies or shows
I followed the video every minute and I have a C3, but somethings weren't making sense there's only one filmmaker mode and when I made changes to it for STR I then had to change it for HDR movies, so how do I have a specific picture mode for different types of continents like movies and games if I'm using the same mode for all of them and any changes, I make apply to that mode
This video gets referenced a lot on reddit sub for OLED, so everyone truly respects your input. Thank you on behalf of all there. Can I ask you two things? 1) Can you provide a link to the Alhandra (sp?) video you were using to show off the TV (Granada, right?) 2) When using a ROKU box to stream, I have an option to upcconvert any SD video to HD. Should I allow that to happen? Or tell the Roku box to leave it alone and leave it to the smarts of the TV? I know for an example, when I didn't upconvert an ESPN college game day broadcast, I was not happy with the pixelating I was seeing in the background. These artifacts went away when I upconverted the feed from the Roku.
Thank you for this fantastic video! Do you have any resources about how to take the best care of the oled panel to avoid burn ins and other types of problems?
Nice video! I have a C3 and for me DTM with game mode looks better instead with FMM. With FMM, the Suns are looking like a big orange ball without any transition. With DTM ON with game mode, the Suns are looking better with transitions. I would like to use FMM + DTM On but the suns in video games bother me. I used the latest settings from your Patreon page.
Great settings recomendations. I just got a new C4 and set it up using all your recommendations. Besides using warm 35 as color temp, everything else worked very well. I hope you could do a new similar video for the 2024 LG OLED lineup.
HI Paolo @techoptimized Thanks very much for your detailed video in recommending settings. I recently purchased a C4 model where I looked into the settings for best picture as I found a lot of judder something I didn't get on my Plasma at least didn't notice it. I wanted to contact you as I'm having problems connecting my Panasonic Surround sound system going through the set-up I managed to power the device up during the set-up after setting up the universal remote control but getting no signal trying all HMDI ports. LG and Panasonic are not able to assist me in troubleshooting further. Are you able to assist as I understand you are using a surround sound system?
Hi! Thank you for the video! May I ask you a couple of questions on it, by any chance? You say that the optimal color format for the input signal with LG WOLEDs is Limited/Legal Range YcBcR 4:4:4. Could you tell where did you get this information? Also, would it really be better to let the signal source, like PS5 for example, handle the color encoding format conversion instead of the TV? Is it necessary to enable 4:4:4 Passthrough option when PC Mode is enabled to get full chroma information? Regarding the windows ColorControl App, could it allow to change picture settings in the Game Optimizer Mode like Multipoint White Balance and luminance adjustment for grayscale correction? Do you have any input lag measurements for your suggested configuration and color accuracy measurements for Game Optimizer mode (so hard to come by!), by any chance?
Hi, this is mightily impressive work. Thank you so much! I gather that this video contains some outdated info because of firmware updates, but that the linked guide (updated 30th of October 2023) is the most recent version to apply to our 2023 OLEDs right? Am I also correct in assuming that these settings are meant for ideal circumstances i.e. a pitch black room? Thanks again!
Hi P40L0 - many thanks for making the video!! LG just released big firmware update 23.20.50 which also adds new features such as Chromecast etc. Is it still worth following the video or is it all too old now? I have C3

@@techoptimized Thank you. Can you explain what you mean by the paper white brightness of 200 nits when doing hdr calibration for the consoles. On the series x, it only gives options for min TML, max TML and max FFTML. What does the white paper brightness correspond to?
Hi! I am experiencing overpowering brightness from sunlight windows, large lamps, etc. I know that it can just be the source in some cases, but it's happening all the time now. Can anything be done to fix that? My G3 wasn't like this when I first got it and now it's really bugging me. Thanks!
Got all your settings up and running and the G3 looks effing amazing! It pops so much more than my CX (which is an amazing viewing experience as well) Another question though please. Have you got any links or additional information on why it is safe to turn Screen Shift and Logo luminance off on the G3. I'm keen to try it, but those features are on for a reason right?
You can find all my reasonings here: www.patreon.com/posts/lg-2023-oleds-82545589 Basically with TPC & GSR finally fixed by LG on 2023 series, those extra burn in preventing measures are actually not needed anymore.

I just setup my G3 and I went straight to this video after watching it before. I "liked it" so I could find it later. My tv picture looks amazing! I have never seen a screen like that in my home. Just bought my LG C3 42" and was looking for some hints on calibration to use it as a monitor. In fact, I'm using it as the main monitor for a Mac Studio. Everybody thinks 120Hz is great for gaming, but it's great for the work environment too. Hope you will consider producing a new video specifically for that use. There are a couple of other videos about that on YT, but none of them is as clear and comprehensive as yours. There are hundreds of Mac/PC users interested in this and there's a big thread on Reddit so interest is there. Please help us :)
I am confused. All settings are changed in Filmmaker mode. Should I make these adjustments every time I change from SDR to HDR and to DV? It seems I would modify one of the presets for each video type.
Thanks for the video really easy to follow movies and my xbox know look fantastic on my LG c4, thanks for al the work that has gone into this. I noticed some very minor differences between the spreadsheet and the video , which one is the best to set . As an exmple for hdr movies in the video we use filmaker mode and a black level of 48 but in the sheet it says hdr cinema mode and black level of 49. I dont think I would notice any difference and all set same as video, but just curious if video or excel is most accurate. Video worked absolutly fine for me on c4 . apart for one or two setting that is greyed out and for life of me could not seem to work out what changes it ! I will run throught the video again !! I used an SD tv channel (playing some 80's progarmme !!) rather than an SD netflix title, as was unsure what programmes on netflix are sd, so maybe I should use an netflix one next time. Thanks for all the hard work.
Do all these settings apply to the newer G4? For example, the suggested motion settings are identical. Were these settings tested on an actual G4 TV? Thanks!
This seems extremely helpful! My LG C3 55 is arriving tomorrow. What settings, if any other than yours, do you suggest I optimize using Disney's SDR Blu-ray calibration disc (WOW)?
I didn’t see where you addressed the HDMI deep color on the G4 Should this be set to 4K or off when viewing SDR content ? The TV came with this setting off. Thank you
Hi, first time OLED owner here. Followed your video (plus updates). I was just wondering if I'm still better off with DTM + - 4 FTBL, or should I move back to optimizer picture mode with HGIG? I haven't noticed any input delay, and I'm more of a set it and leave it kind of person. Thank you.
Hi @P40L0. When setting up HDR on the ops5 how many clicks up should we go. for example if you press down on the dpad all the way. how many clicks up should we do for best effect? thanks
This is a really insightful, thought out and helpful video, thank you! I just upgraded my CX to the G3 and I'm keen to try your settings. On the CX, i was always so torn between HGIG and DTM. DTM gave me the daytime bright room gaming i wanted, but HGIG felt better generally. It really depended on the game though. Sound like the G3's implementstion of DTM comes with no trade off. Question on using the PS5. You say +25 clicks for the HDR configuration. Are we not simply looking for when the sun icon dissappears?
I've been working through your settings and so far they look great. With DTM on whist watching a HDR movie on Amazon Prime, I'm sure I sure I saw the screen actively dim during a brighter part of the movie. Is that to be expected with this year's implementation of DTM?
@@DonVitoCorleone2085 That's the TV normal ABL which will work like that in some occasions. Anyway, for movies use HDR Cinema preset with DTM: On (and same settings), not FMM. Read my update in the description for more info.

How does using an Apple TV 4K affect these settings? I noticed when streaming through an AppleTV 4K, Filmmaker mode is not available due to the Dolby Vision
Hi P40L0! Quick question...in your settings for HDR Filmmaker Gaming on the PS5, you say to turn OFF Real Cinema. But on my TV that setting is greyed out and is automatically set to ON. I can't change it. Am i doing something wrong?
Hi, Maybe a silly question but: Is what you are doing with the SDR, HDR and Dolby Vision settings the same a calibrating your TV? I ask because I had my LG G3 65” calibrated at the shop, and don’t know if I still need to do the settings as you’re doing them or if they are done with the calibration.? Also, I watch mainly via Apple TV 4K. Netflix, Disney +, and Apple Tv +. Do I need to do something in the settings for the menu’s of each streaming app? Thanks before hand for your reaction and for the great video. Greetings 😊
My settings are mostly general optimized settings without entering the WB and CMS values (which shouldn't be shared as would differ between each panel and which probably your shop touched for the actual calibration). Also the shop may have calibrated specific presets only and not all, so you can still try my settings against the shop ones and see what you like most. Each input (e.g. webOS apps, Blu-Ray Player HDMI, Xbox HDMI, Playstation HDMI etc) will have their separate presets/settings to configure both for SDR, HDR and DV. So basically input-based, not app-based.
Just a quick question. I noticed that you chose “Call Saul” to set your SHD settings on Netflix. However when I go to the same series on Netflix, mine show as 4K Ultra HD. Does this matter or do I have to look for another movie/serie?

Great configuration walkthrough video. I just got a G4, would the same settings as the G3 work?
Yes
@@techoptimized thanks! in your opinion, do you believe burn-in is possible with SDR /PC input at 85 pixel brightness and all protection features turned off when working daily on dark mode in in Windows on all productivity programs (browser, mail, word etc) or best is to drop the pixel brightness to 50 in that case?
Hey bro, I just wanted to say thank you!
Everything looks awesome!!!!
Great content!! One quick question. For the input I use a miniPC (Linux) for gaming and streaming movies from a browser, what settings should I use? I miss Trumotion for instance, it's grayed out and I think it would be nice when watching movies or shows
Amazing settings dude!!! Thank you very much. Was looking for you for weeks.
I just got my G3, and used your settings. Looks amazing, thanks.
mine here friday
better be good without the settings or it will go back
my sony worked out of the box
Wow. I've just bought a B4, can I apply these settings to it too?
I followed the video every minute and I have a C3, but somethings weren't making sense there's only one filmmaker mode and when I made changes to it for STR I then had to change it for HDR movies, so how do I have a specific picture mode for different types of continents like movies and games if I'm using the same mode for all of them and any changes, I make apply to that mode
WOW, this video is absolutely the best...thank you very much for all the information and settings; worked perfect on a 77" B3!!
Great guide thank you! Do you have any recommendations for standard TV viewing? I personally use a Sky Q with UHD option. TIA
I found your patreon searching for Cyberpunk 2077 HDR settings for the LG C4. You do a great work man!
P.S. From now on, im your subscriber!
Thank you very much for the recommended settings! I will receive my 65 inch LG G3 next week and can't wait!.

Thx! 👌🏼
Hi, thanks for your guide :) What settings do you suggest to watch football? The Filmmaker mode is too faded and sport mode is too saturated.
The updated settings in the description also cover LG 2024 OLEDs... ;)
I just got the c4. I can't find color temp setting
Been loving your gameplay videos! I have LG C2 and what hdr tone mapping should I use, what hdr tone mapping did you use yourself and why?
Yes, the link in the description always has the most recent settings and yes, those settings are geared toward a dark/dim room.
Hi P40L0 - many thanks for making the video!!
LG just released big firmware update 23.20.50 which also adds new features such as Chromecast etc. Is it still worth following the video or is it all too old now? I have C3
@@bobjones3725 You can follow the video as a walkthrough but you can find updated settings in the chart linked in the description.
@@techoptimized Thank you sir! I printed off the settings chart. Just a suggestion, it might be an idea to split it up into 3 sections. The print is so tiny I have to get my magnifying glass out :)
@@bobjones3725 Click to see the full res version to clearly see even when zoomed
@@techoptimized Thank you! One last question, I use an Amazon Firestick (4K) and not web OS. Is there anything on that stick that should be set or could be interfering with the TV picture?
What input icon do I use for apple tv 4k? Also can I just use the WebOS movie settings for the apple tv? Also your table guide says to use 2.2 for Gamma for SDR content but in the video you say to use BT.1886. Which one is better?
Use any icon other than PC and yes, use webOS settings for it. Latest and best settings are in the chart in the description, so 2.2
@@techoptimized Thank you. Can you explain what you mean by the paper white brightness of 200 nits when doing hdr calibration for the consoles. On the series x, it only gives options for min TML, max TML and max FFTML. What does the white paper brightness correspond to?
They should name a tv after you. Doing the Lord's work.
Hi! I am experiencing overpowering brightness from sunlight windows, large lamps, etc. I know that it can just be the source in some cases, but it's happening all the time now. Can anything be done to fix that? My G3 wasn't like this when I first got it and now it's really bugging me. Thanks!
Thanks for the update in July 10, 2024.
Got all your settings up and running and the G3 looks effing amazing! It pops so much more than my CX (which is an amazing viewing experience as well)
Another question though please. Have you got any links or additional information on why it is safe to turn Screen Shift and Logo luminance off on the G3. I'm keen to try it, but those features are on for a reason right?
You can find all my reasonings here: www.patreon.com/posts/lg-2023-oleds-82545589
Basically with TPC & GSR finally fixed by LG on 2023 series, those extra burn in preventing measures are actually not needed anymore.

Hola amigo.
Fantastic Job😊
I just setup my G3 and I went straight to this video after watching it before. I "liked it" so I could find it later. My tv picture looks amazing! I have never seen a screen like that in my home. When I compare the out of book screen to what it is now after these changes it is night and day. Even my wife walked in and said, "I feel like I'm there." Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I really appreciate it. You should add your payment processor information and take donations. I do have a quick question, are these settings also best for a Roku UHD streaming stick?
Thanks! If you want to support my work, have a look at my Patreon page in the description (you'll find a lot more there too).
About the Roku: yes, you can just use the same settings of webOS SDR/HDR/DV for it. ;)

Hi man. Just got my 55 C3. Ive copied everything from your video and it looks stunning. I’ve seen you have an updated guide? I dont understand. Is there any few simple changes I should just change at this point to slightly improves it? Would appreciate a reply
I'm also wondering if I need to adjust something after those 1 year new firmware updates
How about sports? What's the best for football on HDR? Same as movies?
Thank you
Hello friend, have there been any changes to the hdr for the ps5? in the most updated case? and which image mode should I use?
Pc settings for sdr and hdr movies please and what settings for nvidia
Best picture I have achieved on the G3 and the gaming settings produced excellent outcomes. Thankyou

Thanks for all the hard work.
wow is all i got to say, grealy appreciate you, god bless
Do all these settings apply to the newer G4? For example, the suggested motion settings are identical. Were these settings tested on an actual G4 TV? Thanks!
Those were tested on G3 but confirmed working on G4 as well. Read the description for latest settings ;)
This seems extremely helpful! My LG C3 55 is arriving tomorrow. What settings, if any other than yours, do you suggest I optimize using Disney's SDR Blu-ray calibration disc (WOW)?
PAOLO 1 QUESTION... SHOULD I USE GAME OPTIMIZER SOUND WHEN USING GAME OPTIMIZER... PLEASE GET BACK TO ME PLEASE
I use it all the time. I feel you need to use it for less latency.
These look great on my c3! But would these settings work for my c2 as well?
Thank you for this video. Movies and shows look good but my ps5 looks dark now
I didn’t see where you addressed the HDMI deep color on the G4 Should this be set to 4K or off when viewing SDR content ? The TV came with this setting off. Thank you
Hi, first time OLED owner here. Followed your video (plus updates). I was just wondering if I'm still better off with DTM + - 4 FTBL, or should I move back to optimizer picture mode with HGIG? I haven't noticed any input delay, and I'm more of a set it and leave it kind of person. Thank you.
RGB limited on TV and console?
Or "just" TV, or "just" console?
@@Silverthorn-jn3jg TV and Console and even PC.

When setting up in Xbox, I don't have those numeric values on screen for HDR mode?
Are you sure the tv not going to have "burn in" effects if i switch off all the Oled care settings??
Yes
It will disappear at 4.000 nits (+25 clicks) with FMM with both DTM: Off and DTM: On ;)
I've been working through your settings and so far they look great.

Hi P40L0! Quick question...in your settings for HDR Filmmaker Gaming on the PS5, you say to turn OFF Real Cinema. But on my TV that setting is greyed out and is automatically set to ON. I can't change it. Am i doing something wrong?
Same question.
If you cant change it, it is considered disabled
@gianniskarabesinis7580 wrong. I had to adjust some settings to turn it off

This is amazing! Thank you
Do you have any recommendations for using apple TV 4k? Are the settings the same as webos?
Thank you so much for your reply. It helped me understand a bit how it works. I’ll try your settings 😊
Just a quick question. I noticed that you chose “Call Saul” to set your SHD settings on Netflix. However when I go to the same series on Netflix, mine show as 4K Ultra HD.
Does this matter or do I have to look for another movie/serie?
