Absolutely remarkable Philippe! Amazing how effortlessly you take clumps of clay and create such a beautiful creature from them. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us to enjoy!
I'm making a giraffe cake for my grandma's 90th birthday on Tuesday and I was looking for life like sculptures for the icing and came across your video. I wish I had a talent like this it's just absolutely amazing. It looks so real! You are so very talented!
How exciting to watch you create this majestic Giraffe! I have been playing in my head for years and am getting ready to tackle a baby giraffe. TRhank you for the confidence to proceed!
Thanks for your videos. I am a Stone sculpture from Germany. Working with clay is a part of my job. But I dindnt made it since a long time . But today I bought 10kg clay. Thank you for inspiration ❤️💕🙏
I just love this guy, you did a fabulous job. I just started sculpting yesterday I'm making a little lamb. Hoping it turns out nice. Giraffe's are my favorite animal ever. At some time I hope to make a small one.
hello. are these ceramic sculptures you made baked? Will the paper and iron you put in the giraffe you made cause any problems during cooking. Thank you in advance. goodbye ❤️
Tu trabajo es espectacular y me quede inpresionada como fascinada me encantaria hacer uno,voy a intentarlo y hacerlo a ver que logró.,mi respeto y admiración saludo de Argentina.💖💖💖⭐⭐⭐
No, don't sell yourself short. You would pick it up eventually, and everyone starts off somewhere. It's like learning anything, else if you put some heart into it.
I wish I had this level of artistic talent. I know this is going to sound silly, I have an issue with using anything in abundance (it stems from never having enough money to have anything in abundant), but with all the clay you use, do you cast it and reuse the clay? The thickness is insane, which obviously works well in this form of sculpting, but my heart flutters every time. lol Like I said, silly.
Not silly at all! It took me all of my life until I was an adult in painting/sculpture class for a professor to point out that my work is better when I go bigger. It made me realize the urge to conserve all of my precious supplies I got with my little money was holding me back from really acheiving what I envisioned. It ended up teaching me to be in the moment and enjoy the process instead of worrying about the future. It made me relax more and my art improved because I was more focused on my work than money or lack thereof. I run out of money and supplies and time constantly but Ill het back to them eventually and I am finally ok with that 😊
You can check out the brand Monster Clay. Easy to use (they have soft (just start sculpting), medium and hard (need to heat up to sculpt). This clay you can reuse over and over. I purchase mine from a store I found in Texas called Brick in the Yard. I'm sure you can just buy online too. They sell little packets so you can see what you like but I have a few 4lb tubs. I think each tub cost was like $20. Cheers.
Amazing work 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 i just want to ask the clay will not crack if its not put in the oven ? I mean should not it be cooked ? Or its just air dry clay ?
I have just purchased your two books on portrait sculpting in hopes it might help me to learn how to sculpt a dogs head. I am looking for a method for beginners to consistently map points and measurements, especially the eyes which are hard to place symmetrically with the proper cant. If you were to publish a book or DVD on sculpting canines, I would be first in line to purchase. Your reviews on Amazon are extraordinary, I have never seen anyone on any platform that has 100% 5 star reviews. Please, could you tell me what tool you're using at 6:35 of this video that creates the ridge or line effect and where it might be purchased? Thank you very much.
@@sculpit That's great news, do you know approximately when to expect publication/sales? I hope you will consider modeling the three basic skull types - Brachiocephalic like Pugs and Bulldogs, Mesocephalic like Beagles and Dalmatians, and Dolichocephalic like Greyhounds and Borzois. Thank you for the referral to Sculpture Depot, they have the first DVD's I've seen that offer instruction on finding the parting lines and undercuts in casting.
@Philippe Faraut What's the next stage? Do you bake these into ceramics, or make molds that are used for casting in bronze? Also, what's the clay that you use? It seems fairly strong to make the ears without internal armatures.
Absolutely remarkable Philippe! Amazing how effortlessly you take clumps of clay and create such a beautiful creature from them. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us to enjoy!
I love watching the planes of the form emerge, and then seeing the detail being dialled in, showing the smooth transition. Beautiful work as usual.
Same. I can't explain what it is I find so enthralling but I genuinely find comfort in watching all the steps that lead to a masterpiece.

How long did this take you?
How do you keep your sculpture from cracking? I have done some small stuff but it cracks so bad that I gave up.

Lol Second reply!!! I love this!
Do you usually kiln fire your sculptures, or bronze them? And why do you choose whichever that you choose?
❤❤❤❤❤

I think its ceramic clay

You can buy the tool at sculpture depot. I am working on a book on animals including dogs.

Здорово! Молодец Мастер! Хотелось бы знать состав, это же не натуральная глина?
👏👏👏
Wow speechless! How long did it take you to make? Does the clay dry out a bit?
Meu Deu que perfeição lindo para bem
Fabulous
@Philippe Faraut What's the next stage? Do you bake these into ceramics, or make molds that are used for casting in bronze?
Also, what's the clay that you use? It seems fairly strong to make the ears without internal armatures.
The Clay is Laguna #100
This one will be cast in bronze.
@@sculpit after it is cast, do you trash the clay or can it be reused?
Cool !!!!!!
Exquisite.
Fantastic work, thank you! 👍💕
Have you attempted 3D modelling yet, like in Zbrush or Blender?
Not yet!
How do you get the sculpture off the support to fire it?
He made an eye in one sec.
What material is he using?
Hi. What process should be done so that it lasts a long time without breaking? Thanks!
Are there any answer to all these questions?
