Hi Gabriella, Stuart here from the NC Chamber. We'd love to post your video on our website and direct people to your channel. Are you good for us to post it?
Those are a couple of my favorite spots in northern California. Cool little towns mixed in with beautiful forests. Even the air seems a little sweeter than most places. Good picks.
I had lived there for over 14 years and found it mostly populated by old hippies, but despite all the pride flags it’s not really ‘Polk street north’. Nevada City was the host to the world famous Nevada City Classic. The oldest and largest bicycle race on the west coast. Considered by experts to be the toughest one-mile criterium in the United States. A one day road racing event of 40 laps on the twisting hilly 1.1 mile course of over 300 feet of climbing. Established in 1960 and later a National Classic Pro Points Race and starting point for Stage 1 of the Tour of California. For many, a pre courser to the Tour de France. So it had that going for it at one time and it was glorious.
Very cool. The historic buildings are my kind of thing. I'm always amazed by the huge Victorians and wonder did they have 10 -11 kids back then? Good job putting the video together.
If you ever get the chance to I would highly recommend driving down Highway 49 through all the gold rush towns if you ever get the chance. So much beautiful scenery and history along that road!
Ahhh man, I wish I could say all of them but if I had to do a top 3 I would say, Placerville, Jackson, and Sonora. Placerville is very close to Sutters Mill, which is worth checking out. Jackson has so much to offer and has two great mines to check out, the Kennedy and Argonaut, and Sonora is close to so many cool places such as Columbia State Historic Park (I call it the Virginia City of California and I know you would get the reference) and Jamestown is also very close by.
Well done! Been to many of these spots! We enjoy Inn Town Campground in Nevada City! You HAVE to stay there once. Camping, RV hookups, or, what we prefer, glamping tents! Great staff! Cheers from NorCal! 🥤
Thank you for posting this video Gabriella I'm plotting my Escape still from San Francisco on my way to Lake Tahoe or somewhere between and Nevada cities been on my mind. It might have to be Reno or Carson City in the meantime and I appreciate your videos on those places as well. BTW, it's Authentic, not divey. 💚 I would love to see more promotion of businesses, especially of places to stay with perhaps a separate video on living there like you do with Tahoe and Carson City. Perhaps a visit to avaiable rentals. Anyway, I love the cinematography in this video. Your shots and montages are beautiful. Thank you. May I suggest a tour if the oldest saloons from the Western foothills to Reno? Apparently there's a new gold rush and the old saloons might be the goldmine 💚
@@GabriellaViola One of my favorite hobbies is hitting the oldest saloons in the gold rush towns or anywhere and having a chat with someone at the bar. It could be a local, a tourist, or just old drunken him. Everyone has a story, a bit of wisdom, perhaps a nugget of gold 💚 An afterthought...have you been yo Sierraville hot springs? A gem, indeed 💎
Dutch Flatt is right off Hwy 80 maybe a mile. It is a REALLY cool old gold rush town with a lot of the old buildings there like the hotel and the church, the stores, masonic hall and odd fellows hall, etc all built in the 1850's and up! I did it on my way home from Tahoe City one time last year and I am going to pick a different old gold rush town on the way home next time. There are several on the way as you know! I love Nevada City too, I had a buddy living there for a while a few years back. Love Gold Country! Thanks for the vid! Enjoy! Kurt In Santa Rosa, Ca.
Very lovely video. But, I'd like to keep NC a secret LOL! I've been visiting this town for nearly 50 years, every year. Even moved close by during Covid. Love this area, all the way up the 49. North Fork is one of my favorite parts of the Yuba.
A bit short , Gabbie. I wish you would have taken more time to explain where the Visitor's Center is, where to sign up for Kayaking. Hiking and Biking trails and Guides to help us find our way. Thanks very much.
lots of drugs. been visiting there for over 25 years. the town is quite beautiful but the stores and what they offer are very hippy dippy, insence, crystals, etc. the town has been invaded by people straight out of the free love generation...so sad.
Beautiful town until we got to the pride month flags. I have no desire to go there now. You need to rethink your marketing , The pride movement is only 5 percent of people I hope they can support your tourism

Couldn't agree more! Very much enjoyed checking out Nevada city, nice mix of history, charm, and the outdoors!

Such a beautiful little town. Went there during Christmas time. They really out do themselves during the Christmas season.
I heard that they do a Victorian Christmas, from the pictures it looks so pretty 💙
Your videography and editing is great. really love how you showcased local spots in my area.
thank you so much! its such a beautiful area
If you ever come back and make another video, should check out the first Friday art walk, deer creek tribute trail.

Hopefully I can do❤❤
You missed Scotts Flat Lake.
What river is that?
Yuba River
Another nice thing to do In Nevada City, is to have a quiet little wedding. All friends invited but no mother-in-laws 😂
Hi it's me your Mother-in-law. I'm very disappointed ☹️
Did you visit during pride weekend?
I went on a weekday in June I believe
Did we match on Tinder?
😂😂😂😂..im not on there
the number 1 thing to do in Nevada City is to leave Nevada City and go somewhere actually worth your time
I love all those 'Gods Promise' flags ❤
Those are pride flags…
Number one should be to smoke pot!

What does "divey" mean? Refering to a type of bar...is that a derogatory term for a certain type of person the narrator doesnt like? Please clarify...
Yep saw the gay flags which most here don’t celebrate and I was done.
Not so charming with that blasphemous gay flag.
Found this video while looking for NorCal town to hunker down in a few days - but all those 🏳️🌈pride flags made me say PASS!!!
You should probably visit the deep south and hopefully not come back. California minus a bigot sounds great. 🤓🖕
Same… I’m starting from nothing and looking for farm exchange work. The area looks so beautiful tho
LGBT flags in a Town? Whats going on in this state
Have you tried the deep south? I hear inbreed bigots love the south. 😉🖕
Beautiful town until we got to the pride month flags. I have no desire to go there now. You need to rethink your marketing , The pride movement is only 5 percent of people I hope they can support your tourism
The park right by hwy 49 is crawling with junkies. NC has always had that sketch feeling even back in the early 90’s.
5%? You foorgot all the people who aren't old bigots. This town doesn't need or welcome your type. Have you tried the deep south?
That's fine, we dont want homophobes here anyway.
I bet if there was a hetero month, there would be a million more comments 😂
@@jennexxer Yes the poor Heteros being treated poorly through out time.
Nope nothing good there
